Anakis giggles as the kids say she must be "besties' with Bella, and she doesn't correct them.
As for selling the crystal door knob, she looks for a shop that seems to sell trinkets and ornaments (Perception? 7 or Investigation? 17). Once she finds one, she wanders in and pretends to look at all the things in the store while she walks up to the counter. "Excuse me mister. I'd like to sell this," she holds up the crystal, "It's very pretty and I found it on an adventure out in the bog."
"You would, would you?" says the shopkeeper. "Well, I'm not really in the market for old doorknobs. Something like that is pretty much worthless, kid. People come in here to buy stuff that's new, not old junk like that. You might want to try someone who deals in antiquities, though. They'll know if it's worth anything."
Aluzira, arriving in the military library you find that it's a modest collection of books on the military history of Ekuepool and some treatises on military tactics and plans for various types of siege engine.
Anakis, the shopkeeper scowls at your "cute little kid" routine. "Alright kid," he says and points you toward a dealer in rare antiques.
"Thank you sir!" And she runs out to the antique dealer. Once there, she holds up the crystal and asks the shopkeeper, "Excuse me sir, would you be interested in this? I found it while adventuring."
(OOC - if she is unable to sell here, then she'll give up and relax for the remainder of her downtime.)
Aluzira will walk through the library, occasionally picking up a book and quickly looking through it to see if she can find any mention of the bog creature.
The dealer in antiques, an old bookish man who's immaculately dressed in grey, glances at the crystal doorknob through his spectacles. "That does seem interesting, doesn't it," he says. "Where'd you find such an interesting object?"
Aluzira, you come across a chronicle of the Lord's militia, and as you skim through it, you find an account of a patrol around the bog led by one of Lord Guernot's ancestors. This patrol encountered a creature with an enormous head and a neck so long and skinny that it was unable to hold its head up for any length of time. The account also states that the creature's breath had the power to make men fall ill. When the patrol approached within range of their javelins, however, thinking that it was just a buffoonish oddity, the creature managed to lift its head, and any man on which its glance fell died instantly. It used its tail as a whip, and many men died in that battle and were forced to flee. In the margin of the chronicle, a commentator has written in a different script that the creature described in the account is known in distant parts of the world far to the south and goes by the foreign name catoblepas.
Anakis holds it up to the dealer for a closer look. "I found it on an old weapon. I think it might have been from one of the people in the bog. How much is it worth? It must be very valuable."
"Oh, goodness," Aluzira says to herself as she reads, grateful that they decided to leave it alone. She roughly sketches the creature on the end of her scroll before tearing that piece off and placing it in the book. After returning it to the shelf, she makes her way to the nearest Inn to rest up for the week, and writes the name of the creature on her scroll. She occasionally goes to the tavern to listen to the music and wonders what the others are up to, and about what will happen in the undercity.
"It is valuable, young lady," says the dealer, "very valuable. It comes from the days of the old city which is now buried under our feet. I wonder how it got out in the bog. Attached to a weapon, you say? How interesting! Here, I'll give you a copper piece for it. If you find any more things like this, bring them to me, alright?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Only a copper?" Anakis looks at the crystal thoughtfully, then holds it out to the shopkeeper, "What about two coppers and it's all yours?" (Not sure if you want straight charisma or persuasion, but they're both same modifier - Persuasion/charisma: 22).
"You drive a hard bargain little one, but alright here you go: two whole copper pieces. Just keep this old stuff coming to me if you know where to find any more!" The old gentleman seems genuinely delighted with your doorknob.
Torrent will spend the time recovering, resting, but, as far as the rules of a long rest go, protesting in the area of the few remaining shopkeeps that are selling goods that are explicitly from the exploitation of the Bog.
"These folk're causing monsters in the Bog. The Bog's defending itself. Don't buy their goods," he chants.

It's late in February when, after a week of rest, you all convene once again on a cold winter morning at the top of the stairs at the end of Juniper Way (so named because it's lined with juniper trees). A south wind causes the trees' small branches to move, and yet another thunderstorm is just beginning to erupt directly over the city from the dark clouds that have gathered overhead. It's about an hour after sunrise.
The barrels that were here on the landing at the top of the stairs when Anakis leaped over them to escape the city watch twelve nights ago have been removed in the intervening days. The stairs lead down under a wide stone archway, over which houses are built, to a soggy landing where a few of the city guards await your approach to conduct you across the underground waterway to the entrance to the catacombs of the Undercity.
Approaching from around the corner of Hart Route, you can see Fluin accompanied by three individuals wearing leather. He doesn't have his gear with him, as might have been expected, and, besides his clothes, wears only his rapier.
"I have something to tell you all," he says forthrightly. "I'm not coming with you. I've been offered a permanent position with the city guard, and, as you probably all know, that's what I was doing before I met up with all of you. At first, I didn't want to accept their offer because I'd do anything to make sure you're all safe, but then the council said they'd send some capable agents of theirs along with you to make sure everything was alright, including a medic who's well regarded by the mercenaries I know for his skill in healing. They seem like good people, and, well, you know, my rent isn't going to pay itself, so I'm going to have to sit this one out, but I'm sure going to miss you guys." Fluin tears up and bids each of you a fond farewell.
You've all enjoyed a long rest, so update your characters to reflect that.
Ash, Nicolas, and Reynard, describe your characters and introduce yourselves to the party.
Aluzira, Anakis, Tarek, Torrent, and Ulben, briefly describe your characters as well, so everyone can get to know each other.
Anakis is a young tiefling girl of about 13. Her jet black hair falls over her deep red skin and red eyes that seem to glow when hit by the sun. She wears no armour and her clothes are a little scruffy, but she wears a woolen poncho with a sequined name on it, "Bella the Serpent", with pride. If your quick enough and observant enough, you'll occasionally see a small mouse pop its head out of a sleeve or her collar to nibble on food she offers. She nods in greeting to the newcomers, but stays silent, unsure of what to make of them, preferring to stay close to, and a little behind, Torrent and Tarek.
Ash is a tall dark haired human. He looks no more than a few months past adulthood. There is a guarded look in his eyes, which is partially offset by his goofy grin. He wears a black tunic, which has seen better days, and woolen breeches. Over top of that are thick leathers, that look like they have been treated well, and carries a spear. The only thing that seems odd about him is his eyes, which are a blood red. He gives a tentative wave at the group. "Hey. I'm Acheron, but you can call me Ash. It's nice to meet all of you. I think we are going to be working with each other for quite some time so I am sure we will get to know each other better." His eyes flash in surprise as he spies Anakis but he quicky composes himself "I am not used to big cities, so you will have to excuse me."

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
Aluzira looks to be a middle-aged Water Genasi with pale blue skin and dark blue hair pulled into a ponytail. Her eyes are bright and cheerful despite her being a bit nervous. She wears a cream-colored tunic and white breeches with leather armor overtop. She carries two daggers on her belt next to which there's an empty space; she occasionally reaches for it only to reach further back and straighten her dagger. After a moment of hesitation, Aluzira introduces herself to the newcomers, "It's nice to meet you all as well; my name is Aluzira." She gives Fluin a small smile. She would miss him too; in fact, she would miss all of them if she had to leave, which surprised her. She rarely stayed anywhere long enough to grow fond of anyone.

Some of the street kids you meet ask you about the poncho, convinced that you must be "besties" with Bella for her to let you wear it.
How do you go about trying to sell the door knob?
Anakis giggles as the kids say she must be "besties' with Bella, and she doesn't correct them.

(Ah, Okay! Thanks!)
After parting with the others, Aluzira will make her way to the militias barracks in search of the military library.
Anakis pouts a little at her treasure being called junk, then smiles at the shopkeeper, "Do you know somewhere that might like it?"
Aluzira, arriving in the military library you find that it's a modest collection of books on the military history of Ekuepool and some treatises on military tactics and plans for various types of siege engine.
