Anakis pouts as the lizards don't go for her ruse. She suddenly remembers the bag of herbs she'd found earlier and rifles through her bag to get it out and crush it in her hands. She runs headlong at the lizards, towards the chest, throwing a cloud of herbs in their faces as she slides under/jumps and runs over them. "I just want to look at the shiny things!" she says as she does.
(OOC - so she's trying to distract and disorientate them with the cloud of herbs and either slide underneath if she can fit, or run over the top of them.)
Okay, the cloud of herbs will give you advantage on a DC 10 Dexterity check to slide under, climb over, or slip through the lizards without upsetting them.
The lizards are distracted by the aroma of herbs that fills the air as they jostle with each other trying to get a whiff of the floral bouquet, allowing you to succeed in getting across the room. The three lizards are now between you and the rest of the party (and the door) while the other lizard is still busy eating the rations it was given.
On the other side, you can see that in the open iron trunk, which looks much too large to move, are thousands of coins both of silver and of a gold-colored alloy called electrum which is not used in the coins that Ekuepool mints in the present day. The coins look to be quite old and fill the bottom of the roughly four-foot long by two-foot wide trunk to a depth of about two inches.
Anakis grabs two handfuls of coins and stuffs them in her bag, she turns in the excitement back towards the door and the rest of the group. She takes a deep breath and tries to replicate her run and vault over the lizards and to the exit to get out as fast as she can while the lizards are hopefully still distracted (Dex/Acrobatics Check: 13).
As she tries to run over the lizards, she waves her arms at everyone to get out and move, move, MOVE!
Aluzira immediately begins running out the door as Anakis calls for them to move, looking behind back occasionally to see that Anakis is able to follow.
You make it past the lizards again, Anakis, and Ash, Nicolas, Tarek, and Torrent all clear the way in front of you, running out into the hallway where most of the halflings are still waiting. Remacle stands his ground along with a few of the halflings that came into the room with him and looks at you quizzically. "Did you get all the treasure, Anakis?" he asks looking surprised by the sudden call for retreat. "What happened? Did you see a trap?"
Anakis closes the door behind her and sits down, breathing heavily from the excitement. "No," she says between gasps, "But I couldn't get the lizards to move easily and I was worried I'd upset them when I ran over the top of them." As she takes one final deep breath and her heart rate returns to normal, she opens up her backpack and begins pulling out the coins and treasure she did manage to pull out with her big scoops she'd stuffed in there before running out of the room, "I did manage to get some treasure though," she beams a massive, proud smile.
"What about the rest of it?" says Remacle, holding the door open. "We've come a long way to find this treasure, and I don't intend to leave without it. How much was there? I'm sure it was more ‘n them couple of handfuls you managed to grab.
"Those lizards look pretty fierce," he says looking back at the lizards, "but they don't seem to intend us any harm, not yet anyways."
Anakis snorts at Mr. Buttons, "Well I didn't see you trying to get in there and help! I wasn't going to stick around in there and wait for those lizards to decide they wanted me for lunch. You and your friends are nice and small, maybe you can sneak in and around the big lizards?"
"Anakis," Remacle says with a wounded look, "I'm surprised that you show so little trust in us to hold up our end of the bargain and help you out of a jam if needed. Of course we would have had your back, as the saying goes, if things went south with the lizards. I mean, a deal's a deal which is what I though we had. Didn't we agree to work together to find lost treasure?"
When you suggest that the halflings sneak past the lizards themselves, Remacle considers. "I don't know," he says. "You say we're small which is true enough and all the more reason for us to be cautious. I mean, how do I know you'll do your part and help us should the lizards decide to have us for lunch? I reckon one of us wouldn't make more 'n a mouthful for one of them beasts.
"With you big folk standing with us though," he says, "I reckon we could take on the lot of them, if need be. Unless you think that's not the case and we should just move on. There's probl'y more treasure elsewhere." He looks at his booted feet dejectedly.
Anakis taps a finger to her chin as she thinks. "I just don't want to hurt the lizards, that's all. I mean, we were going in their home after all. I mean, if any of you know a way to convince them to be our mounts down here like that other group did, that'd be cool," she trails off as she thinks it over some more, "But I don't know how we'd do that. I'd rather not hurt the lizards. The black one was really cute."
"It seems like you had some success with bribing that one with Aluzira's rations," suggests Remacle. "Does anyone have any more food to offer the other lizards? I don't think we need to hurt the lizards to get at that treasure in there. We just need to get them out of our way, so we can carry it out. There was quite a bit of it, I gather?""
“I believe I have four days worth left of food,” Aluzira says peeking in her pack to check. “I think I could spare a couple of them if I do. Maybe we could all pitch in with a little?”
The halflings all seem genuinely alarmed at the prospect of going without regular meals. "Well Miss," Remacle says, going pale and rubbing his belly, "that... that would be just unthinkable." He again seems to fall into a state of melancholy as the rest of the halflings start to grumble, some of them quite loudly.
The rest of the party members look in their packs to retrieve their food stores. "I've got plenty," says Nicolas. "I'll pitch in a day's rations to placate one of the lizards."
"As do I as well," says Torrent. "We could eat for days down here with what I've got on me back."
"I have a day's left of food myself," says Tarek, "if it would help keep the lizards occupied long enough for us to carry out the treasure. There's only a few hours left in the day as it is. I'm sure we'll be heading back to the surface soon enough. So that should be enough food, but who's going to give it to them? I'm not sure if I've ever heard any stories about Byron Strongheart feeding any giant lizards before, so I'm not sure if I could do it myself."
“Do think you could do it Anakis?” Aluzira asks. “The last lizard I offered food to didn’t seem to like it so much,” she adds with a nervous chuckle. “I could still help a bit.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Anakis looks at all the food, takes a deep breath and let's it out slowly. "Alrighty then." She collects up the rations and heads back into the room, "Hey mister lizards. Sorry to bother you again. My friends want to come in and gather some more from that chest over there. We've brought some food for you," she offers out the rations for them with Aluzira, gaining the lizards' attention and then tosses the rations to the side of the room to give the group a path to the chest (Animal Handling: 8).

(Wow, two 5's in a row!)
The lizards seem unsettled by the noise and look about but don't go to investigate. Do you still want to try to run through them?

Aluzira watches as Anakis keeps attempting to get past the lizards her face somewhere between wide eyed surprise, and a warm smile.
(OOC - I forgot I had inspiration, so I'm gonna use that here... fingers crossed.)
