After thinking for a moment Aluzira says, “If we don’t mind taking awhile to get back up top, we could possibly take a bit of it with us if we each carry some. We would be going considerably slower though.”
Anakis scratches her head. "Well, it could be a while to the top. We've dropped down a few times in here. I'm only worried if we need to run like that again from some creature we bump into down here."
Keep in mind that being encumbered (or heavily encumbered) only affects your speed in combat. Your speed while traveling remains the same. Being encumbered has no other effect while being heavily encumbered also imposes a penalty on d20 rolls that rely on Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution.
As you peek around the pillar that separates the doorway you've come in through and the other opening of the chamber (besides the door), you see that it leads to a wide hallway punctuated by a row of pillars and lined with pillars on either wall. About thirty feet along its length, on the left, is the other side of the door you just passed, All that separates this hallway and the passage you've been traveling down is a single stone wall. After another sixty feet is a ten-foot wide side passage branching off ninety degrees to the right, and then in another thirty feet the hallway also turns right ninety degree into a twenty-foot wide hallway. The ceiling vaults to twenty feet above you, supported on the row of pillars, some of which bear the same scratch marks you observed in the passage.
The rest of the party mostly agrees that they still have room for more coins, but it will take about ten minutes for everyone to get loaded up.
(OOC - well, Anakis is not the most strong or dextrous - I mean, she is a street kid after all. But @Hinnorwen, if you think we should load up on some more, I'm happy to. Anakis usually sits back and fires of fire bolts anyways.)
Anakis points down the other pathway and whispers, "That way branches off but there are big scratch marks on the walls that way too. I don't really know if we should go that way. But we can decide while we load up with more coins if you want?"
Aluzira thinks for a moment. “That makes sense,” she says before looking around to see what shape the room is. “I think it should be up to each of us individually, it wouldn’t make sense for everyone to grab more coins if they didn’t want to because one person is,” she says picking up one of the bags.
The room is rectangular, thirty feet long by twenty feet wide. There's a door in the center of the long wall, while the opposite wall is comprised of two archways separated by an ornate pillar. One is a ten-foot wide opening which you came in through, and the other is twenty feet wide and leads into the large hallway that Anakis has been peeking into.
The bag in your hand, Aluzira, is full of coins and weighs roughly six pounds. The other seventeen bags are all about the same size. Do you put it in your backpack?
"I think I may have some room for one of those in my pack," says Tarek, unburdening himself of his backpack momentarily as he adds a bag of coins to his already heavy load.
"I could carry some more as well," says Ash as he too sets about filling his pack.
The six halflings, chuckling to one another at their good fortune, each put two bags of coins in their sacks, which now seem quite full of coins, and split the remaining three bags of coins among their packs.
Remacle lights up another torch and says, "Well, ought we to continue forward through that door, or do you think that ogress meant for us to go that way to find her 'egg-shaped' room?" and he indicates the many-pillared hallway.
Anakis scratches her head. "I'm not sure," she says looking between the two paths. "Do you think that she would have made those scratch marks on the walls? I feel like we should go forwards, and not the way with the scratches, but I'm not sure."
After looking around at the shape of the room Aluzira says, “I think we should just keep going straight until we find the egg shaped room, and if we don’t find it it’ll be easier to double back to this place since we wouldn’t have taken a turn.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Anakis nods, "Alright. I'll see what I can see down that way," and she creeps off and slowly makes her way down the path straight ahead, watching for signs of any traps or creatures (Stealth: 11 and Perception: 12).
Okay, sorry, the word path threw me off. It's just a room with a door in it.
The door opens, and you find that it leads into the large oval-shaped room where you all had a second breakfast with the halflings about an hour and a half ago, although through a different doorway than the one you left by, which still remains open to your left. The smell of fried bacon lingers in the air.
The door you originally entered through, and which remains spiked shut, is on the far right of the room, and there are two other doors which have not been opened, one immediately to your right as you enter, and one across the room.
"Ah, yes," says Remacle, recognizing the place, "it does resemble the shape of an egg now that I think of it."
The halflings all seem rather excited at having found this room again, and Remacle rubs his belly as he says, "It's well past time for our luncheon, and my people are famished. What do you think if we all stop for a bit and have a bite of something?"
Anakis sighs, "You really do eat a lot of food, Mr. Buttons. I'm surprised you and your friends have any left." As the halflings set about eating, Anakis will have another look around the room, ready to leave at a moments notice.
(OOC - I'm trying to remember, as it feels like forever ago that the halflings had eaten, why was that door we originally entered in spiked shut again?)
(OOC: I think it was because we encountered zomblies out there at some point and spiked it shut to prevent more from following.)
Aluzira nods, “That sounds like a good Idea, we have been walking for awhile. At least it feels that way,” she adds with a chuckle. She sits down and fidgets with her remaining dagger twirling it around in her hand.
The halflings set down their sacks of coins and take off their packs, retrieving cookware, meat, mushrooms, fish, vegetables, and other earthy ingredients. Some begin making small coal-fires to cook and boil water over while others chop potatoes and onions to make a soup. Meat and potato pies are heated, and battered fish is fried along with eggs and slivers of potato. A leg of mutton is also produced from a backpack and slowly roasted over the fire.
Everyone digs in to the hearty, warm dishes, and the halflings' hunger is kept at bay. After an hour of relaxation, just when all are finishing off their meals with slices of heavy bread and draughts of ale, a commanding voice comes through the open door saying, "Ah, what a fine and toothsome smell to have the fortune of finding so far beneath this once great city!"
A man, somewhat on the short side, enters the room, dressed in exotic robes and finery. "I hope you've saved some for me," he says. "I'm simply starving."

Anakis nods and will then peek down the other passage leading south (Perception: 2).

I think by "keep going straight", Aluzira meant to go through the door on the other side of the room. Is that correct?
And assuming it is, do you want to open the door?
(OOC - that was my assumption too.)
Anakis carefully opens the door, hoping that it isn't heavy like many of the others the group has encountered so far.
(OOC: yep!)
Aluzira will follow a little behind Anakis ready to lend a hand if needed.
