As you move forward, Anakis, the two hostile lizards advance towards you, blocking further progress into the room, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the one to which you're offering the food, which looks expectantly at the rations, hoping that they'll soon be made available.
Anakis stops as the two others move to block her. She carefully tosses the rations towards the first lizard, then carefully reaches into her pack for two more and does the same for the two other lizards, "Are you all just hungry? I've got plenty more. I know what it's like to be hungry and looking for food. How did you come to be stuck down here?"
All three lizards dig in to the food voraciously, becoming indifferent to the party and its activities as they are distracted for several minutes consuming the rations. They are no longer blocking your way, and the party may continue through the room unimpeded as long as the food lasts.
Anakis quickly motions for everyone to hurry past, and she too, makes her way around the feasting lizards, keeping a wary eye on them until she makes the door and opens it to move on.

Anakis' Strength Check: 14
Anakis' first little push on the door reveals the heaviness of the door, so she turns and puts her back on it to try and push it open. Her legs shake, and her feet slide slightly as she tries push on the heavy door.
With both of you pushing, the heavy door slowly creaks open, revealing another large room, brightly illuminated with torchlight. There are two doors to the right, one to the left, and one straight ahead, In the room are six people who are, for the most part, armed and armored. In the rear of the group is a youthful-looking elf and a mature, foppishly dressed human woman who both wear half-plate with shields equipped, as well as another mature-looking woman in studded leather and dandified traveler's clothes who wields a drawn shortsword. Standing in front of them are a human man and a half-elven woman, both of them wearing chain mail and shields, and another man with a clean, youthful appearance, finely dressed and bejeweled, holding a long, wooden staff, who, seeing the large numbers you have with you, speaks to you in the common tongue.
"Halt and go back!" he exclaims. "You have no business here, and the treasures of these tunnels are claimed by my mistress and her associates!"
The group seems quite powerful and ready to back up these words with action.
"People!" Anakis says excitedly, "It's good to see some new faces down here in the dark. But how did you get down here? How long have you been down here? Are those your lizards back there? They're really cool. How did you get them to wear saddles and ride them?" She blurts out question after question, not waiting for answers.
The man seems perturbed by your barrage of questions. He relates something in another language to the elf, and she replies. He turns to you, Aluzira, and asks, "Are you responsible for this... child?"
Aluzira straightens up at being addressed and replies as politely as she can, “No sir, ma’am, not directly anyways. We’re traveling companions and she’s proven to be a very dependable young lady,” she resists the urge to fidget with her dagger while speaking so as not to seem threatening.
"Ah, you're travelers," he says, eyeing the band of well armed halflings standing behind you as well as your other companions. "Well, then I'd suggest you find another way round to continue on your travels. There is no way forward here. I bid you good day." He stands resolutely, blocking your way into the room.
"There now," says the man in chain mail, addressing Anakis, "be a good girl and do as you're told. My name's Huggin. Here's some cheese for your little mouse. We have some important work to do, so it's best you were all on your way," and he holds out a small piece of cheese for Custard.
Anakis eyes the man suspiciously. "How do you know about Custard?" She stops and thinks a moment, pouting as she does, then looks to Huggin. "Well, if you want us to turn around, you better feed your lizards back there. You should really take better care of them. They were really hungry!"
"I saw your handsome friend peeking out from behind your robes," Huggin says, smiling. "I can see the two of you have been through some adventures together."
"You're right about the lizards, though. I ought to check on them," he says and glances back at the woman in half plate. "Countess, alright with you if I tend to the pack animals?" he asks over his shoulder.
"Yes, but be quick about it and see these travelers out while you're at it," she says.
He nods and rummages through a large sack, pulling out another sack containing big chunks of meat. "Follow me," he says and makes his way back into the next room to continue feeding the lizards.

Aluzira quickly follows Anakis’ lead, passing by the eating lizards.
Anakis, the door resists your attempt to open it. Make a DC 15 Strength check to force it open with one push.

Huggin seems concerned about the lizards’ well being but uncertain if he should let his guard down to go check on them. Make a DC 12 Charisma check.
