As the intersection is approached, you can see that about thirty feet farther along, a twenty-foot wide hallway branches off to the left of the main corridor, and after another sixty feet, the corridor turns left into a ten-foot wide passage.
Looking to the left and right, you can see that the five-foot wide passage continues on straight into the darkness as far as you can see. These hallways are also dotted with the occasional mound of fungus.
Her curiosity not peaked, Anakis continues creeping down the corridor to the left branch thirty feet ahead and peeks around the corner. She waves for the others to continue following her as she passes the small passages, not entirely thinking about whether they can see her or not.
The rest of the group can see you, assuming someone with a torch (Remacle or Nicolas?) is not more than forty feet behind you. I believe Tarek’s plan was to travel along with you, or closely behind you. Remacle and the halflings swell the middle rank, with Ash and Torrent bringing up the rear. Peeking around the corner, you see that this wider hallway also continues into the darkness to the limit of your sight.
"Just a whole lot of hallways. Some more of that fungus stuff, but I'm not seeing anything alive or moving about," Anakis answers back with a shrug, "Do we go down one of these halls or continue on this corridor?"
"Your guess is as good as mine, Miss," says Remacle, looking around at the others. "I think we ought to keep moving though, so that whatever creature is responsible for making these mounds doesn't find us all standing here discussing which way to go, if you take my meaning."
Anakis looks at the mounds and shudders at the thought of giant bugs again. "Alright, let's keep moving forward then," she nods and continues creeping down the large hallway, stopping at the next branching corridor to check it.
With Remacle and Nicolas not too far behind with their torches, your eyes, Anakis, have no difficulty seeing in the dim light. Nevertheless, as you get about twenty feet past the intersection with the twenty-foot corridor, you, Aluzira, and Tarek miss the telltale cracks in the stonework that would indicate that the floor is the segmented cover of a pit trap. As the two of you and Tarek walk across the cracks, the floor suddenly falls away into four triangular sections that hang vertically from the edge of a ten foot deep pit with jagged metal spikes at the bottom.
Aluzira and Anakis, make a DC 15 Dexterity save to avoid falling in.
Aluzira and Anakis, you manage to avoid falling into the pit, regaining the solid edge as the floor opens beneath you. Tarek, however, is not so lucky, and says a silent prayer to his god, Pelor, as he plummets ten feet into the pit, weighted down by his heavy armor. Hitting the bottom of the pit, he takes 6 bludgeoning damage and 10 piercing damage from the iron spikes that jut up from the floor.
Tarek lays unconscious at the bottom of a ten-foot deep pit that is twenty feet across and extends from wall to wall of this twenty-foot wide corridor. He makes his first death saving throw: 7
(DM Question - the spikes at the bottom of the pit, is there space between them that Anakis could climb/drop down? Ten feet would be reasonably climbable, but having somewhere safe to get down to is important as well.)
Anakis sees Tarek fall into the trap and then unconscious. "No, Tarek!" she calls out, forgetting to keep quiet, and kneels down at the edge of the pit, trying to find a way down to their travelling companion.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“Shoot! Tarek!” Aluzira shouts peering over the edge. Then calls down with Healing Word for 3 health “Don’t give up! The light of Pelor surely still guides you!”
There's enough room to move around and stand safely between the spikes as long as you can get down in a controlled way. The sides of the pit are relatively sheer and look to be about a DC 10 to climb without falling.
Tarek gasps as he revives. Sitting up, he feels his body where he landed on the spikes. "Ah, I should have been more careful," he says turning to Aluzira with a smile, "but you're right. The light of Pelor wants me to live, and the noble spirit of Byron Strongheart still burns brightly within me, pushing me onward towards deeds of bravery. Let's be off! Is the way forward through this pit, or will you give me a hand up so I can join you?"
Anakis sighs with relief to see Tarek back up. She looks across the pit and down the hall as far as she can, "I'm not sure. We'll have to get through it or across it in some way if we want to keep moving forwards though."

Aluzira follows close behind Anakis, “Anything?” She asks curiously seeing Anakis peek around a corner.

After thinking for a moment she looks back to the others. “What do you guys think? Keep moving forward or turn down another hall?”
"Your guess is as good as mine, Miss," says Remacle, looking around at the others. "I think we ought to keep moving though, so that whatever creature is responsible for making these mounds doesn't find us all standing here discussing which way to go, if you take my meaning."

Aluzira and Anakis, make a DC 15 Dexterity save to avoid falling in.
Tarek: 18
Anakis Dex Save: 18
Aluzira lets out a startled yelp as she attempts to jump off the suddenly falling floor.
Dexterity: 18
(OOC: Is there anyway Aluzira could try to help keep Tarek from falling?)
Gravity works very quickly, so unless you have a spell with a casting time of a reaction or something that works like that, I’d say probably not.
(OOC: That makes sense! Thanks!)
