Garet now wishing vehemently that Herman still had the creatures attention, found himself under a barrage of blades each strike breaching his defences the last looked like it was about to breach his heart when he brought his blade up at the very last minute diverting the path slightly but crucially turning a mortal wound into a devastating one.
Garet sucked in his breath regaining his strength and composure, and using every muscle and sinew attacked twice as if it were his last.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
"Yes!" the angelic young women says agreeing with Banzo's assessment as her translucent wings slowly disappear from view. "Although we must hurry as Zagor's power grows, I am in no condition to go on."
"Is dee hall of dwarves a place we may rest" (long rest). "or could we go back to an earlier place to do so?"
(OOC: WE have not explored the meat corridor behind the mind flayer yet).
"I must pray, sleep, and regain my strength for the battle ahead."
Like a general inspecting their troops, she looks over each hero in turn,
"If you have a specific question regarding our path forward, I can ask motter one question before I rest." (Augury).
Enwynn looks about as the glimmer of the mercy of a goddess fades from her hands, then spots the edge of a familiar shield in the shadows and the darkwise eyes of a small goblin peering over the top of it.
"Well done, Libb!" she says, relieved to see them alive, and glad that they have the sense to use the available cover to their advantage.
Banzo: "Well, our plan worked... sort of. At least we're all still alive."
Tzedaka: "Yes! Although we must hurry as Zagor's power grows, I am in no condition to go on."
The elf counts heads, gestures at the bodies Tzedaka is examining then says with a weary smile "Not only are we all alive to tell the tale, they are not. I'd call that a victory." and turns to Tzedaka and offers "I have some power left in me, but it may not be enough alone to get us closer to ending his reign of terror."
Tzedaka: "Is dee hall of dwarves a place we may rest or could we go back to an earlier place to do so? I must pray, sleep, and regain my strength for the battle ahead."
"The Sister of Stone has been reminded that this place still holds a little of Her grace within it. I doubt She will let go of that hall again now." Enwynn opines, then smiles as she adds "Even though we are not dwarves, She will protect what is Hers, even if that includes a goblin among the guests."
Banzo: "Who needs healing? It's arcane in nature instead of divine but still gets the job done."
The druid interjects "There are gods of magic, Banzo so I see no difference in the source you draw on, only in the way it is applied."and pats the brave tortle on the shell edge closest to her.
Tzedaka: "If you have a specific question regarding our path forward, I can ask motter one question before I rest."
The elf says "Give me a moment to think on it. Others may have wiser questions than I might think to ask.
OOC: Who is still wounded, and do we investigate the meat tunnel after a short rest or a long one?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Banzo lays a hand on Tzedaka's shoulder, "We're all have to be well rested before we face Zagor. We don't even know for sure that he's behind the golden door. He could be anywhere in this mountain." (And casts Arcane Healing on Tzedaka to restore 8 hp.)

(ooc: is there a way to judge or determine what time of the day it is? or whether or not we can take another long rest? (only 1 per 24 hour period allowed right?))

Banzo begins to head in that direction and can't help but let out a little yawn.

The scales tip slowly back and forth and then tips down toward the gold coin of Zagor.
The priestess of Libra looks up and smiles, the answer to her mystical question clear.
