Six days ago, I launched a new play-by-post campaign, and, unfortunately, one of the players needs to bow out. I would very much like to replace that player to ensure the success of this adventure. Here's a bit information you might find helpful before you make your decision:
Regarding your character:
Race must be one of those typical of Faerun: human, elf, half-elf, dwarf, halfling, gnome, dragonborn, tiefling, and half-orc
Class may be anything except bloodhunter or artificer
Your character will start at level 5
Multi-classing is permitted
The other three characters in the campaign are as follows: a female dwarf cleric, a male half-elf rogue/monk, a male human barbarian/druid
Your character may begin with one uncommon magic item and an additional 225 gold pieces
Your character is a member of the Harpers (a benevolent faction of the North that advocates equality and covertly opposes the abuse of power); therefore, their alignments should be in harmony with such
Full character creation will take place AFTER I've selected you for the adventure (so you can create your character with the D&D Beyond content that I'll be sharing)
Regarding the adventure:
Takes place entirely within the Sword Coast; I will rely heavily upon the lore found within Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide
Should be a good mix of roleplaying, combat, and problem solving
Will contain an interesting cast of NPC's.
Will contain difficult decision-making opportunities for the players; the correct choices will not always be obvious
I rely on battle maps to keep combat from becoming confusing.
As I said, it's already under way; so be ready to jump in to the story in the next day or so. I have a few seamless ways to introduce your character to the others.
If you are interested and can commit to submitting at least one thoughtful post per say, then please respond in this thread with the following five things:

Character class(es) and level(s):
Brief explanation of how your character came to possess the one uncommon magic item:
Brief explanation of what led your character to become a member of the Harpers:
PLEASE do NOT go to the trouble of providing additional information or creating a full character sheet. As soon as I feel like I have a good replacement, I will close this thread. I do apologize in advance to anyone who isn't selected.
Magic item story: Bleak obtained this wondrous pearl while he was exploring the waters near the Coast. His hobby is diving and fishing, as he enjoys the freedom of the sea.
Harpes story: Bleak was always around people who's power dominated over him. Frequently unfairly so. Every single one of his peers thought of him less for being a Tiefling, for being cursed by the 9. This isolation from others lead to inevitable trouble between him and the place he grew up in, which in turn lead to him taking up what he could find and leave the town despite his parents’ pleading Bleak to stay. He since returned multiple times to support his family and one day hopefully help them to move a better town, as he now is in power to do so through his work with the Harpers.
I know the backstory is very cliche for a Tiefling, I just wanted to try something like that. I’m fine with changing it though.
Alternative Harpers story: Bleak was adopted into a noble family that was a part of Harpers Organization. They trained him in their own values and virtues, and taught him the vices and obstacles to overcome. He was practically trained to be a Harper. Bleak himself had a deep sense of gratitude to the family from saving him from the orphanage, and thus he viewed this endeavour as a way to thank them.
Character name: Sandrina Character race: Variant Human Character class(es) and level(s): Warlock (Archfey) Brief explanation of how your character came to possess the one uncommon magic item:Uncommon varient of the Rod of the Pact KeeperSandrina's patron granted her one additional boon while she travelled, besides her psuedodragon. A rod that seemed to be made of vines, with both ends of it seemed to be capped with the same type of crystal she'd carried with her since she first escaped the Feywild. Brief explanation of what led your character to become a member of the Harpers: Sandrina escaped the Feywild terrified and confused, with only vague memories of what she went through. The village she found herself staying in afterwords never really trusted her outside of the old wizard that took her in. He spent a lot of time trying to discern what she could remember about the Feywild, though it was never much more than a few images that didn't seem to connect to each other, a fear of the woods and most other forests, and a single name. Oberon. Once it was clear that she could be trusted, the wizard revealed his membership in the Harpers, and recommended that she joined the organization. She took to the job, happy that there was something she could do that was good in the world.
Character name: Elton Treewind Character race: Halfling (lightfoot) Character class(es) and level(s): Warlock (Celestial) 3/Sorcerer (Divine Soul) 2 Brief explanation of how your character came to possess the one uncommon magic item: (Cloak of Protection) It was passed down in Elton's family through many generations, given to the family because of a good friendship with elvenkind. Brief explanation of what led your character to become a member of the Harpers: Elton had fought in a recent war and had a near-death experience. He saw in a vision two figures, representing a celestial and a fiend, and was told to choose one to save. He chose the celestial, and when he came back, in gratitude for saving his life, Elton pledged to serve the celestial. After he retired from the military, he began noticing radiant and healing powers and turned to the Harpers to learn how to put them to good use.
Character class(es) and level(s): wizard (chrnomancer) 5
Brief explanation of how your character came to possess the one uncommon magic item: the dagger of warning was a gift from his mentor in the wizardly arts. He recieved it as a reward for his accomplishments. It has a stylized harper symbol on the pommel.
Brief explanation of what led your character to become a member of the Harpers: following in his mentor's footsteps. His wizardly master has been a member for a long while and groomed Kellin to follow him in the Harpers.
Character class(es) and level(s): Level 5 Wizard (Evoker)
Brief explanation of how your character came to possess the one uncommon magic item: Eyes of Charming; As an Investigator is not work that comes easily to many. Sometimes you need a firm hand, someone with a loud, demanding voice in a closed room. Other times, it requires a keen eye picking over every little detail. For Jheric, the former were never too much of an issue, although his superiors never liked when he brought fire into interrogation rooms. Sometimes you get lucky, like when he was sent to look over the home of an arrested smuggler. Found the strangest little box, and the thing was just oozing magic. Since then, he's never really had a problem convincing his superiors to give him favorable assignments, and questioning seems to be one of his strengths.
Brief explanation of what led your character to become a member of the Harpers: Jheric met the Harpers on an assignment. Someone was posting threatening letters on a merchant prince's door. Staked out just up the road, he spotted the vandal and cornered them. Surprise, though, they were prepared for a fight. The two clashed for a minute that seemed an eternity before Jheric got the upper hand. Confronting the crook, they were revealed as a Harper agent then told of the merchant's secret dealings and connections. Not one to rule out possibilities, Jheric "found" a way into the home and found a treasure trove of back-alley business that would hang a king from a wall in chains. He apologized many times over for the misunderstanding and kept in touch with the Harper agent. After mutual assistance, he received a letter to work much more closely with the secretive organization, only now as a member.

Brief explanation of what led your character to become a member of the Harpers: Olivier is the son of an low level lord. His father has been out of favor for years, and he has been crushed under the thumb of a higher level lord for the entirety of that time. Olivier's father has done as he was told because he knew that he would be crushed otherwise. Brief explanation of how your character came to possess the one uncommon magic item: Phalse was a sailor serving on the Emerald Lady under Captain Esmerelda Cortez. He was the navigator. He served until the Emerald Lady was sunk offshore near Luskan by forces from that den of rogues. Phalse escaped with one of Captain Cortez's hatpin's as a momento of their romantic dalliance. He learned later it was a wand of magic missles. He uses it in remembrance of her as he hunts the pirates along the Sword Coast.
Brief explanation of what led your character to become a member of the Harpers: Phalse landed in Neverwinter after the loss of the Emerald Lady. Bereft of ship, captain, & crew he wandered aimlessly. After a few weeks of numbing his sorrows in the local taverns he was approached by Elaine the Weaver. She was a member of the Harper's in Neverwinter. She funneled information along the trade ways. Elaine recruited Phalse & gave him new purpose.
Al is a scrappy, street smart urchin. After the death of his mother, his father became a drunk and took out his sorrow on his half breed child. Eventually his father kicked Al out of the house when he was 12 years old. Living on the streets since then, Al has learned to survive one way or another.
One day when rummaging through a refuse pile, he came upon a strange wind instrument, presumably discarded by its previous owner. Blowing a few notes on the pipes, he found that the rats that he had grown to tolerate would now obey his commands (Pipes of the Sewers).
With a bit of trial and error he eventually found that he could channel other arcane energies through his prized pipes. He became more and more adept with magic and with hiding in plain sight, but not good enough to avoid the notice of the local Harpers agents. Seeing his combination of skills as a valuable asset to their organization, they recruited him immediately.

Brief explanation of how your character came to possess the one uncommon magic item: Got a Ring of Mind Shielding from his noble mother to prevent anyone from going into his mind to spill their families secrets. He kept it after she died and he was kicked out of the household.
Brief explanation of what led your character to become a member of the Harpers: Some psychos kidnapped him off the streets to do some sort of ritual. They messed up and unleashed something into the world, leaving him on death’s door with strange powers that exploded from him occasionally. A Harper saved him and took him in. Jack feels obligated to help the one who kept him on this side of death. So until he feels that he’s repaid the man, he’ll work for the Harpers interests.
