(OOC: Yeah, I realised that for the first few levels the SCAG cantrips suck and that gwm and plain melee attacks are better. They don't work with 5th lvl extra attack, but should work with action surge and later on with war magic, as far as I know. Got overly excited about my first feat. After reading the wording of gwm feat I realized that booming blade can be used for the first attack only. So that's at least something.)
Moira: The two shield kobolds on you both stab at you with their spears but you quickly parry both with your sword one after the other. Kobold #1: Attack: 12 Damage: 6 Kobold #2: Attack: 14 Damage: 7
Kellin: The kobold that threw his spear at you runs and picks it up, then turns and begins running after you. (doesn't make it this turn)
Torvin: The kobold on you attacks with his spear stabbing you slightly in your side, the spear making it partly into your armor. Kobold #3: Attack: 18 Damage: 2
Alto: The swarm of centipedes swarm over you and begin biting. Swarm #1 attack: Attack: 18 Damage: 12
Danfi: The swarm by you follows, but you outrun it easily, it moves 20 feet closer to you.
All: The dragon flies over, but rather than attack you, it begins breathing flames on the buildings in town, setting them on fire.

Danfi will turn and begin running up the direct route to the dragon cave rather than continuing to follow the kobolds up the path. As he heads up the path, Danfi will cast Speak with Animals. He will keep an ear open for any animal conversations on the route up to the dragon cave. When he gets 2/3 of the way up there, Danfi will slow down and begin to move stealthily, while trying to keep an eye out for any traps. He will begin to look for a spot where he might be able to look down on the dragon below.

Kellin shakes his head, frustrated by the dragon's attack on the town. He is surprised though, as he would have expected it to attack them, not the town. he continues moving away from the others a bit, then turns and sends a crossbow bolt at the spear-wielder coming at him. His owl flies in to distract the kobold as Kellin takes the shot.
Alto, just having been wrecked by bugs of all things, casts cure wounds on himself before running 30ft away from the swarm towards the town. If the swarm attacks and hits him, he’ll cast shield unless it’s 18+ to hit.
As the Kobolds see the dragon blasting the town with fire, they all cheer loudly. Each of the Kobolds with shields disengage from their targets and begin moving in the direction of the dragon as it lands and begins moving towards them protectively. The kobolds with staves are still running with reckless abandon up the side path with the few backpack kobolds trailing behind them weakly.
Moira: You slice into the kobold and it squeals in pain before it disengages to move towards the dragon, the sonic energy going off in a small detonation as it does.
Danfi: You sprint up the front of the mountain with the swarm of centipedes in slow pursuit, after casting your spell you hear them chanting words like "Hungry" and "Food" as if they had been starved before being brought out in the baskets.
Kellin: Your familiar flies in again and it's claws rake over it's shoulder, spinning it slightly as your arrow thuds into it's side. It turns and keeps running for the safety of the dragon.
Torvin: You swing at the kobold but it dodges and backs away from you quickly before turning to run for the dragon stepping towards it.
Alto: You turn and begin running back towards the town as you feel your healing magic burn through your joints. You easily outpace the swarm behind you.
If the second kobold runs by, I use the opportunity and attack. Otherwise, I want to finish off the first kobold with my sword or longbow, depending on how far he is from the dragon and whether I can catch up to him. I learn from Kellin and tell Ify to distract the kobold I am about to attack.
Assuming that I can catch up before I am next to the dragon, would like to keep at least 30ft of distance, I swing at the kobold I've already attacked with my sword.
Attack: 13 for 9 with 7 booming blade
I also try to recall what the weaknesses of red dragons are. Nature: 19
Kellin moves towards the fleeing Kobolds as well, the ones heading towards the dragon. He sends another crossbow bolt in to one of them, preferring one already injured, just as his owl flies in to distract again.
To hit: 24
Damage: 7
Kellin is approaching the dragon at a very different angle than anyone else, making sure to be spread out for when the dragon uses its breath weapon. He probably doesn't know how wide of an area the dragon can affect, so is trying to be very very sure not to be too close to anyone else.
Torvin will chase after the kobold that is running away from him. If/when he gets within 60' of it he will cast sacred flame DC13 Dex save damage: 1 radiant on a failed save

Looking back and seeing the dragon land, Danfi realizes he has taken himself out of the battle. After a brief hesitation, the ranger decides to keep climbing up the mountain. Perhaps attacking the kobolds in their cave might draw the dragon away from the town. Keeping an ear out for other animals that he may be able to use as a distraction for the centipedes, he continues walking up the mountain towards the cave, trying to be as stealthy as possible stealth15
He will also keep an eye out for any traps that the kobolds may have set perception11
If Danfi approaches the cave, he will ready his bow for the hunt.
(ooc) apparently, Danfi isn't very stealthy. I haven't been able to get a roll above 4 on stealth.
Moira: (OOC: They both disengaged so no opportunity attack, but you can easily keep up with them because of their movement speed. The dragon is headed towards them quite fast though.) Your sword whistles through the air over one of the kobold's head as you run them down.
Kellin: Sabastian swoops in front of one of the kobolds that Moira was fighting and it stumbles for a moment allowing your bolt to thud into it's thigh, it yelps and attempts to run again, but you can tell it is wounded quite badly.
Torvin: You run after the kobold, keeping with sixty feet, which you find is easy to do. As you cast your sacred flame the kobold ducks and the flames singe the top of it's head and pass over.
Danfi: As you climb the steep grade, about half way up there is a small shelf that is hard to see from below, but gives excellent room to rest from the climb. You find no traps nor any other animals in the area. Looking down you see the swarm of centipedes that were chasing you have scattered and are not in pursuit anymore.
All: The kobolds run up to the dragon and latch on to it by various limbs or whatever they can hold on to, and the dragon takes to the air, carrying them with it. You are now faced with a town of burning buildings.
Torvin shakes his head and says to the party: "Well we have a burning town and who knows how many are dead and it is our fault. We can't go off half-cocked like we just did. Everyone running different places doing things others have no clue about. Plan? Who needs a plan? I know there is no fixing our mistake but, we need to decide what we need to do now."
"What you meant to say was 'bold'. The reason the plan didn't work was because the beast is cleverer than I thought. And since when do dwarves get so emotional. That doesn't suit your armour.
I also regret that the townsfolk has to suffer, but to get rid of a dragon is no easy feat and they must've known what they were getting themselves into. Still, we should help them put out the fires and control the situation."
Torvin fumes and says: "DO NOT TELL ME WHAT I MEANT TO SAY! You think too much of yourself and it seems you have a fetish for my armor since that is the 2nd or 3rd time you mentioned it. You also know nothing of Dwarfs and even less about Dragons. YOU little Miss are the reason that the town is burning and people died tonight. I hope you can live with the knowledge of THAT!"
"Who had suggestions and ideas for a plan? Not you! Who is ready to stand by the decision and take responsibility? Not you? Who is looking ahead and searching for a solution instead of scapegoating? Not you! If you want us to work together, you might reconsider your attitude."
While walking towards Alto, I conclude: "As for the armour, you got me there. It seems I envy you a bit, but we ought to get more familiar before we talk about fetishes?! Speaking of which..."
"Ify, over here.", I tap my shoulder for her to land on it. "Fly up to the dragon cave, make a few circles and come back. Watch out for the dragon and the kobolds and where they are. Off you go!"
"Do not tell me I had no plan. How do you know if I did or not? You where running about town looking for bear traps, nets, and oil! To be used against a Dragon? Really? No one bothered to ask if I had a plan. I was stuck talking with Hodil at the tavern and no one came back to discuss a plan with me or find out what the reward was. You have found out what the reward was to your plan on your own........death and destruction......not of the creatures but of the innocent! As far as working together and my attitude - Who made you the leader of this group? Although I don't want to be. If it is you I don't want any part of it!"
"We did come back before going to sleep. You said nothing of a plan. And while I asked you to inquire about the reward, it is not as important to me as to know the exact sum right away. Won't you calm down, big guy. I think we have bigger fish to fry right now."
"Let's stop fighting among ourselves." Kellin says with a sigh. "We all made mistakes here, and I not the least of which." He says as he moves towards the town. "I knew setting the fire would be a beacon to the dragon, but did not speak up as it seemed the only plan we had and we were short on time."
He moves into town casting Prestidigitation to start putting out the various fires around the place.
