Germain ... shoots a crackling burst of lightning at one of the fleeing kobolds. It misses.
Kobolds. The two fleeing continue to run full-out. They dodge behind some large rocks as they continue their dash. Toc can get line of sight on them if he moves again, but the others would need to move with a dash to do so. They are 80 feet from Toc and 120 feet from everyone else.
Back to top of initiative, please post next round actions.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Naroth would let his Echo disappear and then with looking at Toc for the OK, would start chasing down Kobolds or the cultist and kill as many as he could get his hands on. Using his Crossbow to attack.
Light Crossbow: Attack: 18 Damage: 4
Disadvantage Light Crossbow if they are at a long distance: Attack: 15 Damage: 2
[OOC: put the two different attacks on there because of the "Dice Bug" that is going on with DnD Beyond as you can;t look at the rolls to see what the rolls were. Use whichever attack applies.]
Taviel makes a few steps to get to see the running kobolds and sends a Magic Missile after them (120ft range, plus she can move if need to be) 345 two on one kobold, one on another.
The cultist drops his weapon and kneel down, Valen's glaive at his throat already. The two kobolds don't get too far, as magic missiles and a crossbow bolt finishes them off.
You are out of combat. You have a captive cultist, as well as two sleeping kobolds.
Toc walks forward to the three fallen kobolds, his blade slashes out and stabs the bodies to ensure they're dead. He slashes his blade at the air to rid it of most of the blood. He yanks Naroth's crossbow bolt from the dead body and his arrow from the other. He strides back to the group calmly. When he arrives, the multiple images of him vanish as he dismisses his spell. He doesn't say anything, but nods to the group, with a focus on Naroth along with a smile. He hands Naroth his crossbow bolt. He places his arrow on the ground, and then his bloodied blade as well. He then puts his backpack down and goes through it, pulling out a cloth. He sits on a rock and begins cleaning his blade and arrow head while he watches the cultist with deadly eyes.
Finally, as the silence has grown heavy, he speaks to the cultist, his voice icy and calm, "What is your name? In what town were you born?"
Toc asks questions, and leaves the 'intimidating' to the more intimidating of his allies.
Taviel wrinkled her nose in disgust at the view of such bloody display with a clear meaning "this is why I prefer fire", but did not comment - boys will be boys. Instead she came closer to look at the kobolds - as "miniature dragons" they were more interesting.
(Anything special about those kobolds? Or they are just assorted mix of all colors, random banch of creatures?)

Glancing to the imposing figures around him the cultist cowers down a bit.
"Name's Rubin." He says finally. "I'm from Neverwinter." Glancing towards the tied-up kobolds he grimaces. "What did we do to you for you to attack us like this. We were just minding our own business after all..."
The sheer nerve of the statement made Taviel forget for a moment about kobolds. "Oh, I am so sorry we interrupted your pillaging spree and interfered with the important business of robbing and murdering! After all, you travelled hundreds of miles to destroy towns here, and our intervention must be most inconvinient, I understand. Do hope you can disregard those few dead bodies - what's a dead cultist between friends, right? - and would not allow that regretful episode spoil our future warm relationship."
She lighted up a small ball of fire in her hand and brought it closer to the face of the cultist. "Where where you heading next? Perhaps you will allow us to accompany you there? The roads can be dangerous, even here."
Toc finishing cleaning his blade, and sheaths it. A small smile on his face as Taviel expresses herself to the cultist. He begins cleaning off the blade of his arrow head then returns it to his quiver.
He looks to the cultist, "Please don't play dumb Rubin. It's a waste of our time, and my friends don't appreciate that. How did the Cult of the Dragon recruit you? Was it in Neverwinter or did you hear about them somehow and journey here to join them?"
Toc attempts to lead the Cultist down the path from being in Neverwinter to joining. He doubts the leadership has shared their aims with a low level person, likely a rear guard meant to watch the raiding parties backs, but he will know things such as where he was stationed, how he joined the cult, and what orders he received. Toc methodically leads him through the path of the story waiting for him to reveal something important accidentally, in the telling of the small details. Ultimate, there must be some sort of "big promise" the cult makes to it's members to lure them into service. That is ultimately what Toc is after.
The cultists have 28 sp among them, besides their cheap weapons. The kobolds, who looted despite their orders, have a sack containing pewter candlesticks, some silver serving dishes, and a few religious carvings of Chauntea taken from a home shrine.
From the captured cultist you can tease out the following: He knows it’s standard practice for a raiding party to leave behind a rearguard. He doesn’t know how strong the rearguard will be, but he expect it is sited about a mile ahead where the path passes between rocky bluffs. He also can describe the raiders’ camp and its location. He knows some prisoners were taken from the town but not how many or whether they include a half-elf monk. He knows the raid was for loot, because they were told to look specifically for gold, gems, and other valuables and were forbidden to do any looting for themselves. He knows they are preparing “the great hoard to honor the Dragon Queen.”
Toc nods. He turns to Naroth and with a silent message in his mind says, "Would you care to render our good friend Rubin unconscious?"
After Rubin is having his nap, he turns to the group, "So, a great hoard for a dragon queen...." he looks thoughtful for a few quiet moments. He blinks and looks about after a moment, "It's meaningless for now I fear. Let's go find this rear guard then...see how many they left behind for us to play with. We should go from here on foot."
Toc gets to his feet, securing his pack once more, he helps carry the loot back to the wagon. He lets Taviel inform her man servant that they're proceeding on foot and looks about at the group, assessing if they each seem ready to proceed. Assuming he doesn't see any hesitancy, they press on in their cautious way with the flying creature providing air scouting while Germain scouts ahead and the rest of them proceed cautiously.

"Send them back to the Greenest?Nodwick can take care of it and then return to us." The "treasures" bandits were carrying were already loaded on the wagon. Journey would take some time, of course, but the group moving on foot would not be that fast either.
Taviel herself was now more than simply curious - not just a random dragon, not a simple cult of primitives worshipping yet another great serpent (what is it with simpletons and serpents anyway?) but the Dragon Queen herself? That was truly interesting and worth attention. She was 100% in that investigation!
Naroth ... kills a sleeping kobold (I don't think you can go 60 feet after one of the others and still attack...
cultist ... The Cultist turns to flee. (Moves 60 feet away.)
Taviel ... hits the remaining cultist with a fire blast, but it looks to only singe him a bit.
Valen ... rushes up to the running cultist and holds his glaive ready to strike. "Keep moving and I'll cut you down..." he growls at the man.
Toc ... moves and then looses an arrow at one of the fleeing kobolds. One of the three is taken down. Two are still fleeing.
Germain ... Post action when you can.
kobolds ...
[OOC: Works for me.]
Germain would send another blast of lightning at one of the fleeing kobolds, calling out again in draconic.
Lightning Launcher: Attack: 10 Damage: 13

"I said surrender, I will cut you down from behind if you try to flee!"
