"Thank you, thank you, no applause necessary. i just had to prove to the naysayers that the old boy still has it." He exhales and thinks to himself, "Thank the heavens that worked." He walks over to the barkeep. "Once again, I can't thank you and your wife enough for the hospitality you've shown all of us. If i'm ever back this way I'll make sure to swing by again. I'd like to settle up my tab for the breakfast. What do I owe you?"
Fedex: The envelop is similar in size to a standard document envelope, roughly 8"x11". It could be slipped under a shirt or in a back pack, but is a bit too big to fit in the folds of your clothes. Either way, your sleight of hand is successful.
Lander: The barkeep returns to the bar and says "Oh, let's call it two silver. You can donate it to the temple of Lliira if you make it over to the Cry of Joy temple later if you like. Otherwise, I'll take the coin and donate it myself."
Riona claps enthusiastically, intentionally standing up to help hide Fedex from the view of the elven man as she does.
"Oh my what a trick!"
She laughs and continues to clap for a few seconds giving Fedex time to conceal the package. Once the excitement dies down she picks up her bag and begins to tighten all of her straps and cinches.
"Well with that cheery note I'm thinking we should head out, get as much daylight as we can. I'll wait outside for you boys to saddle up." Turning to the back of the room where the barkeep is standing she adds.
"Thank you so much for the food and hospitality. Gods bless the both of you."
She nods to the elven man as she passes him then stands outside enjoying the morning breeze as she waits for her companions to join her. Closing her eyes slightly and feeling the sun on her face she mentally asks Mr. Declan to fly around the area, keeping withing 100 feet of her as he does.
Lander smiles and opens up his money pouch. He pulls out a gold piece. "Here, give the temple a little extra. Have a wonderful day." With that, he gives the barkeep a small hug around his waist and walks back over to his companions. He sits back down in his chair and leans back with his hands crossed behind his head. "So, what do you think gentlemen, should we make haste?"

With the map and envelope secured, Fedex rises from the table and walks past the bar and thanks both Lander for the breakfast and the barkeep for his accomidations. He steps outside, breathes in the morning air and surveys the environs.

I leave the inn as well sticking close to Fedex, their little show was impressive but now is when the main act starts. He is looking around trying to watch out for any danger. As the saying goes, two heads are better than one, so I aid in looking around too. The situation in the bar was close, next time we won’t be so lucky.
You step out into a cool, clear, autumn morning. You see Riona petting her owl before she lets him take flight. You also see a pair of men on horseback making their way down the street in front of The Nutsack. You recognize the uniform on one of the men, the same worn by Leona's hired guards. The other man looks over to you and gives you a nod in greeting. He appears to be of middle age with a blonde mustache and blonde hair that flows back just past his neckline. His dress is regal, but not ostentatious. The two amble on past you and down the street in the direction of the estate on the outskirts of town. The town is beginning to come alive as people set about their daily lives. Nothing appears out of the ordinary.
Keragri:
You see what appears to be a normal looking street in a seemingly normal town. People are beginning to go about their business and don't seem to be paying you too much attention.
Lander gets up and waves goodbye one last time before walking outside to join his companions. He realizes that now, the real adventure begins. "So, where do we head first?" He smiles, but there's a little trepidation behind the friendly face.
Riona look over at Fedex as he steps out and looks around.
"You have a good head on your shoulders, discretion can be a handy tool but, I want you to know that some times its okay to let up a little and trust. I'm not saying right away, but I hope one day I can prove to you that you can have some of that trust in me."
She gives him a warm, motherly smile then looks up at the sky watching Mr. Declan coasting on the wind.
All: I probably won't be posting more tonight, but I'll be on again tomorrow with the usual active time of 10am-3pm. You guys are doing an excellent job role playing your characters, I wish the group I DM for in person had half your skill! Feel free to banter/role play your characters with one another as you make your way out of town. 'Night folks.
Fedex: For if/when you want to refer to the map:
From what you can tell, you just need to follow a road north west out of Hill's Edge, over the River Reaching, and into the Northdark Wood.
Fedex looks at Riona just after she turns her gaze skyward and kindly smiles at her, though he doesn’t hold it long enough for her to see it. He addresses the group,
”My recollection is that our destiny lies Nortwest of here. Does anyone want to review the map now or wait until we are out of town?”
Lander looks up at Fedex. "If you're pretty sure we're going the right way, it might make sense to wait till we're out of town. I don't want to attract any prying eyes." He whistles for a minute then stops. "By the way, great job in there everyone. For a minute, I thought our plan was going sideways.......I mean, what's the chances that at that same exact time an elf comes in looking for his lost flute. But hey.........we pulled it off." He laughs then looks over at Riona, "And.....you really need to show me that mental feat you did. I'd love to add that to my spellbook!"
"Northwest seams fine by me, I think you have the map handled. Once we're a little out of town though I wouldn't mind one of you making sure I keep walking straight. While I can keep a birds eye view on us through Mr. Declan I wont be able to see or hear anything from my own senses. All you strong young men can handle thought though I'm sure."
She winks at Keg knowing supporting her smaller stature wont be an issue for a man of his strength. and begins to head to the road.
"Don't suppose any of you have any traveling songs?"
"99 bottles of ale on the wall, 99 bottles of ale, you take one down, pass it around, 98 bottles of ale on the wall. 98 bottles of ale on the wall, 98 bottles of ale, you take one down, pass it around, 97 bottles of ale on the wall. 97 bottles of ale on the wall, 97 bottles of ale, you take one down, pass it around, 96 bottles of ale on the wall. 96 bottles of ale on the wall, 96 bottles of ale, you take one down, pass it around, 95 bottles of ale on the wall............." Lander sings the song as they begin to walk up the road. He's into it, marching with his two arms flailing about as if he's trying to conduct an orchestra. He looks to Keragri. "Come on big fella, join in. 95 bottles of ale on the wall............."
"What is this song, the Goliath's music is of better quality. Ahem...it has been years but I can still remember this one.."
A deep guttural growl comes out of my mouth. Then with finesse," I burp in the direction of the halfling.
"But yes, let us keep this show of companionship as we exit this place. Northwest, we could be trudging into unknown territory. And have no fear Red, if it helps in the mission then I must do what I can."
"Well, Keg, I think you've got the hang of it, that's a wonderful song." Lander claps his hands together and laughs. He then gets a bit more serious and sidles over to Keragri."So, what brings you down this road with us? I seem to remember you mentioning a quest at some point. I must admit, I don't know a whole lot about goliaths, only what I've read. Most of my dealings in Belkin were with dwarves and elves. Are you searching for a little action and adventure like the fair Riona and I? I mean.......Don't get me wrong, this all started with me being a bit restless, but now I feel like I'm also doing something that could be for the good of everyone. If this helps prevent evil from reaching my mother and father then I'm all for it........ Oh, you'll have to forgive me, I've been known to ramble sometimes." He looks up at Keragri and it's pretty obvious he's trying to be friendly.
All: The houses on the outskirts of town are humbler than those nearer to the town center, but the children play just as enthusiastically. As you're walking along, a bright red rubber ball suddenly bounces off of Keragri's head, bounces a few more times on the street, then comes to rest in the grass growing alongside the road. Two human children, a boy and girl, point and laugh from a small yard nearby. The girl calls out "Tag! You're it!" before both of them begin to jump, tumble, and run around the small yard.
Keragri, you're it!
If you'd like to play tag-ball, declare a target (you can target one of the children or one of your fellow party members) then make a STR (Athletics) check to see how well you throw the ball. If Keragri chooses a party member, that party member will have to make a DEXSaving Throw (Roll1d20 and add your Dexterity Modifier) to see how well they dodge the ball. If it's equal to or greater than Keragri's check, the ball misses. If it's lower, the ball hits and that party member is then it.
Fedex hops 90 degrees away from Keg and then darts in a perpendicular path to the line Keg would take to retrieve the ball. He then readies the dash action while bouncing on his toes.
"Thank you, thank you, no applause necessary. i just had to prove to the naysayers that the old boy still has it." He exhales and thinks to himself, "Thank the heavens that worked." OOC: Fedex, in addition to the envelope, you also received a map from the barkeep as well.
With the map and envelope secured, Fedex rises from the table and walks past the bar and thanks both Lander for the breakfast and the barkeep for his accomidations. He steps outside, breathes in the morning air and surveys the environs.
