“Fedex, Riona, ’Khubic’, and Lander...well I say I will see you tomorrow, in morning. Have a nice night.” I say this as I walk out of the woods into a very secluded part.
My camp is still where I placed it, and not a single trap has been sprung. Tomorrow I can stop sleeping with one eye closed, I would have multiple people around me. And the disguise of refugees might actually keep my profile low from the guards. If the reward is good enough I just might be able to start doing real damage to the Estors family
OOC for All: I won't be on any more tonight, though I should be active tomorrow between 10am-3pm CST again. I look forward to getting this delivery under way!
"I'll take my leave as well then. Good night everyone. Rest up and may we have good fortune tomorrow. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the common room as well. It may be smart for us to get an early start before a lot of eyes and ears are around."He then adds, "Oh, and Riona, don't worry, we can protect you when you're vulnerable."
Lander gives a wave as he walks to the common room.
(OOC- If this is considered a long rest, I would like to take some time before we depart and possibly swap out a couple of my spells.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Riona settles her belongings in the provided trunk by her bed in the common room she pulls out her spell book and flips through a few pages before sleeping, making notes and going through the motions of casting spells in order to help dedicate them to memory. The book itself is small and bound in light gray leather that wraps entirely around the book when its closed to help protect it from moisture. Finally, when she has had enough practice for the even she pulls the small chain she had been using as a book mark and holds the rough cut silver crystal attached to the end of the chain between her thumb and forefinger. She extends her other hand, palm up, in front of her and with a poof wills her familiar from its pocket dimension into her hand. There stands a small grey owl, only about 20 cm tall with large eyes it look closer to a ball of wool than a bird of prey. She mental requests it to keep watch of her and her things while she sleeps and requests it to wake her if it sees anything.
Lander wakes up after a night of restless sleep. He had hoped to sleep better but thoughts of the upcoming mission made it difficult. He sits up, yawns, and stretches his arms outward then reaches over to his storage trunk and takes out his brown leather spellbook. He flips through the pages and memorizes different incantations that can hopefully help him on today's adventure. Lander is excited to get started, yet at the same time nervous.
After taking some time to study, he decides to get up and begin his day. He packs up his spellbook and makes sure he has his money pouch and everything else in his backpack. He looks around the common room and bar to see if he can find any of his companions.
Riona: Your familiar gives a small hoot as you stroke the top of it's head. It closes it's large eyes and leans into your pets, then as you open your hand and extend it outward, the small owl takes flight. It does a few laps around the common room before perching atop one of the bedposts at the foot of your bed. It's large eyes scan the room as it's head turns 360 degrees, this way and that. The moon through the window reflecting in it's eyes as it flutters and preens itself while you sleep. The night passes for you without incident.
OOC: Does your familiar have a name?
Lander: You come downstairs to find the bar area empty save for the barkeep. He stands behind the bar, wiping glasses and organizing bottles. He hasn't noticed you yet.
OOC: Yes, it is considered a long rest and you can adjust your spells as needed.
All: The night passes for each of you without incident. For those in the common rooms, your night wasn't as peaceful as those with their own rooms. The snores, flatulence, and fidgeting of the other patrons are a constant presence, though you still manage to get sleep and feel rested in the morning. What is everyone doing now that the morning has come?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lander walks over to the barkeep. "Would it be possible to grab some breakfast? Maybe some bacon, eggs and toast?" He looks around the room to see if he sees any of his other companions. Lander debates asking for the package, but thinks better of it and decides to wait until everyone is together.
(I'd also like to make a perception check to see if there appears to be anything suspicious going on in this room. Are there any skulkers around or is anything awry. He's a little cautious after talking to Khubic last night.)
I wake up promptly when the sun rises, the charred firewood I used bringing an all too familiar smell to my awakened nostrils. I scatter the firewood and the coal that was made then packed up my tent and supplies. After this I took down every trap I have laid. I go to a spring for a nice drink before heading to the inn, where we were supposed to be meeting. The room was empty except for the barkeep and...
”Half-Cup, my hours-long friend, how was the night?” I ask in a mocking tone, just enough to get the jitters out, the Nine Hells are still tricky. Plus I do not fully trust these people, and I might as well get to know them if I am to spend a few days with them. They seem like good people though, good people potentially throwing away amazing things...
"Keg, my good man. It's great to see you. I've slept better. As you can imagine, after our conversation last night, I've had a lot on my mind." He gives a nervous chuckle. "How about you? I was just gonna see if it's possible to get some breakfast. Care to join me?"
Lander: The barkeep turns at the sound of your voice and smiles when he sees you "Mornin' sir, did the bed treat you alright? Sure, I'll have a double portion right out for you. Anything else?"
There doesn't appear to be anyone in the area and everything seems above board until you hear the door to the tavern open. A large dark shape looms in the doorway, backlit by the rising sun. The shape squeezes itself through the doorway and you see that it is the large Goliath man from the night before. He greets you as he walks up to the bar.
Lander smiles back at the barkeep. "Twas the first bed I've slept on in days. It's amazing how much more comfortable a good bed is as opposed to sleeping under a willow tree while getting soaked with rain. " He laughs. "Would you kindly get my large friend whatever he wants and I'll be happy to pay for that. I can't thank you enough for the hospitality you and your wife have provided. "
Lander: He smiles and says "It's nothing. With the influx of refugees, business has been steady. This isn't our first kindness and it won't be the last. People need help. Like that man you helped last night. Compassion in the face of ugliness is an admirable thing. It's the least we can do."
Keragri: The barkeep turns to you and says "I'm thinking a double portion might not cut it for you sir, why don't you tell me what you'd like to eat and I'll see what I can do for you?"
Fedex awakens with the slight recollection of a dream. One in which he was dancing with his unrequited love from back home. A love he had no business having. He rubs the remaining sleep from his eyes and surveys the room. He quietly gathers his things and makes his way downstairs.
He notices the barkeep speaking with the smallest and largest of his party and as he approaches the bar, he hears the mention of food.
"Good morning, gentlemen. I trust you slept well? Might I join you for some breakfast?"
"Fedex, it's good to see you this morning. Order whatever you'd like, my treat. " He gives a big smile to Fedex. "It's always good to have a full stomach before hitting the road! "
”Large servings of bacon and eggs, if it would be kind of you” I say to the barkeep. For a drink I pull out a two canteens, both filled with the spring water. I survey the room as well for anything unwanted...
OOC: So it turn out I have a proficiency bonus of 2 with also a wisdom modifier of 2 so I added 4 to the result. Is that how I do it, I think I skimmed it before
Lander turns towards Fedex. "I just decided to get bacon, eggs, and toast. Mmmm, nothing beats the smell of fried pork and the underlying scent of fresh coffee. Has anyone seen Riona yet this morning? " He looks expectantly around the room.
(OOC: Once everyone orders, I'll settle with the barkeep.)
All: The barkeep says "I'll just bring out a couple of platters of food and pitchers of Kav for you all. If any special requests come up, I'll take care of them then." and he heads back to the kitchen to begin preparing your breakfast feast. Soon the smells of sizzling pork belly and percolating Kav waft into the bar area from the kitchen. After about a quarter hour, the barkeep returns with steaming platters lined up both his arms. Behind him is his wife, the barmaid from the night before, she carries four pitchers to your table. "Two Kav, one milk, and another full of ice water, enjoy dears." she says and wipes her hands on her apron before planting them on her hips. "If y'all need anything else, don't be afraid to holler!" The platters are piled high with freshly baked bread, bowls of bright yellow butter, jars of fruit preserves, pounds of crispy pork belly, and dozens of fried eggs.
OOC: Fun lore fact. According to Ed Greenwood, creator of The Forgotten Realms setting, the FR equivalent of coffee is called Kav.
Fedex will also take his leave. He thanks Khubic for the opportunity and bids the others a good night, with a promise to be ready in the morning.
Then he will secure a bed in the common room., pay his 5cp, and retire for the night.

A broad smile widens on Fedex's face.
"What are we having this morning? Something warm, I hope."
Fedex silently peruses his friends' body positions to see if they had already obtained the packet and were holding it discretely.
