((No, I get that, and as a player I know what that tree is and what it implies. Would Lorell know from his druidic knowledge that this is a vampiric tree and be able to convey that to the rest of the party?))
Ithelion stares at the ruined body, then stands, journal in hand. "This, and the amulet both should go to Felosial. We should perhaps follow her wishes and return the body to the forest."
Then she picks up the cloak, "And this...this is a mighty gift. Suited well to those who seek to remain unremarked where they travel..." she glances over at Daemyar. "Do you have need of such a thing?" she asks.
(( I can't recall the terrain near the rift we dropped into...forest? ))
“Hm. Perhaps. But I think Krom would need it more than I, or it matters not how well I am shadowed, how quiet my feet... his clanking will draw attention of any guardian.” Daemyar looks at the cloak and back to Krom.
Survival: 9 (we were supposed to roll this right?)
With combat over Garnet moves to remove as much gunk from herself as she can. She frowns at her sword covered in rat goo. Briefly wondering how to clean it. The ends of shirt where the chainmail stops short, are all but shredded from combat so she decides to tear off what remains and use the scrap cloth to clean what she can. After a few moments of basically just squeegeeing off monster goo, she follows after the group into the room the rats cane from.
The room is awful, even after a shower in stomach bile, the room is still worse. Words in common are not sufficient instead Garnet curses the stench under her breath in primordial.
Garnet notices the body and turns away, Ithelion and the others are already examining the unfortunate soul. Instead she will examine the tracks that Ithelion pointed out see if any evidence of the children can be found and what led the ranger to her death.( That hasn't been discovered already)
@garnet - You are uncertain as to the cause of her death. But you wonder "what if..." you had all insisted on going in the room while Guthash was in there...

Ithelion looks at Krom a moment, sizing him up, "He just doesn't want to be seen in fine elf-crafted clothing."
"I suppose we might be able to trade it for something more immediately useful...I'm beginning to think that going back to Oakhust may be a good idea..."
Ithelion shrugs, "You will now be the best dressed dwarf in the region. But we can offer to trade it back in town if you prefer, they may have more useful items on offer."

( Oh no could we have saved her!? )
No, the adventuring party that went through here was around a month ago, or so you’ve been told.
Ithelion sighs and turns to Daemyar, "We are at least agreed the body needs to get out of this place. Let's get to the top of the ravine and make our decision there. A soft bed is quite appealing..."
With that, she gathers her things and stows her spell book safely, then adds "Perhaps some of these things that we won't sell should go to Meepo. Keeping him friendly might be to our advantage."
She nods to Daemyar, "Lead on!"
(( We all seem agreed that outside is good; what we give to Meepo (or the queen) is entirely debatable! ))
[I'll leave it to Daemyar to detail the finer points of hobgoblin anatomy underneath his cloak; anyone who looks gets more than they bargained for as the cloak is the only thing he is wearing. Whether it's fantastic or not...haha]
Alright, so the party gathers up the gear and backtracks to the room in which you left Meepo and killed the giant centipedes. At the door where you know leads into the kobold area, you stop in front of the door. As Daemyar moves to open the door, he realizes it's locked and chained from the other side. You immediately hear excited yips from the other side.
They are not opening up the door for you! It feels like you might be forgetting something...
[and is it your intention to stop to trade with the kobolds/queen or head straight to the Old Road/ravine?]
((Would either myself or Ithelion know what a Gulthias tree is, to explain it to the group at large? Would we have to roll nature or history?))
IIRC, Garnet may have some insight on that....scratch that - Lorell you had a dream once...

The rift is just off the abandoned Old Road. There are trees and forests around up there.

Krom looks at the cloak, "No cloak is gonna hide the sound of armor clanking. Better it go to ye, Daemyar."
Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
( Oh no could we have saved her!? )
“I prefer mine. Trust me. Take the cloak, Krom.”
If anyone examines Daemyar’s cloak:
You may see a gleam of something fantastic hidden under the grime. Hobgoblins are not without magic, it seems.
