With a pretty good set of directions, it doesn't take you much time traipsing through the increasingly wet and muddy streets of the town before you come upon the humble abode of Nima Cinnarid.
It's a detached house; you see a front door, but there may be others at the back or sides which you cannot see yet. The green-painted wooden walls are streaked with dirt washed down by the rain. A sign hanging on the front door reads: “Sickness within. Do not disturb.” Curtains at the windows all appear to be closed.
Alton looks to Wash and Balassar, after reading the sign, as a smile spreads on his face as he gets an idea, "You're a doctor right Wash? And if there is someone sick that means you cure them. So... Instead of coming up as investigators, lets see if we can get inside as healers or at least one of us inside anyway. Which means you will be taking the lead on this one." His eyes dart over to Balassar, "Balassar, do you mind being his bodyguard? It would make sense for a medic to have one after what happened last night. I'm sure word will get around town, if it hasn't already." Alton pulls at his topknot in thought, "I guess that just leave a cover for me. Hmm... I guess I could be someone that just takes down notes or something." He looks to Wash and Balassar, "What do you guys think? If you have ideas, I'd like to hear them."

Wash agrees with most of this, though suggests "I don’t even think we need to use deception for the moment. I genuinely do want to help this lady if I can, and I can just introduce you as my companions when we ask to come in. If she asks further questions, you can use your way with words to provide further details - like maybe you are from the health authority and Balassar is my bodyguard, though I think we should just start with the truth... Even if we do not provide "all of the truth" straight away. I also think that you should take the lead when we eventually move onto questions about [stage whispers] the jail break and explosive device as I haven’t been as good at the whole ‘talking thing’ in the last few days."
[Aplogies for Wash being a bit of a ‘goodie-two-shoes", but it fits with his backstory. Also, I didn’t realise how beneficial being a doctor was going to be for the game (if this works), and it was mostly flavour to explain the healer feat. Either that or SteveThaiBinh has modified the game for our characters, and if that is the case, thank you DM again]
He was going to wait to see what the others thought. Even if they think we go straight in with a cover story, he will knock. [OOC, I’ve got a busy one tomorrow, so won’t be able to post for about the next 16 hours or so.]
[OOC: Apologies, I wasn't sure if anyone would disagree with my 'honesty first' (eww!) plan, so thought I'd wait.]
Wash knocks on the door and (very truthfully) calls out "Hello, it is Dr Sal Washburn from the DawnFather's Promise and Wash's Medical Clinic. I understand you are unwell. I'm just wondering whether we can come in, see whether we can assist you and have a chat?"
Wash turns to the others and states the obvious "No answer!" He then suggests "should we check the windows?" Wash tries to see movement or any details of who or what is inside through the closed curtains. Perception: 8 to see anything around the closed curtains, if allowed.
While Wash tries to get them inside, Alton is going to take a quick walk around the house looking for other ways inside and for any clues that might be outside of the house. Also, just as a precaution, he will do his best to do this quietly and unnoticed.
Wash finds the response very odd, he is not used to people turning down medical help, especially a free house-call. He tries to figure out if the person sounds under duress, or even if it sounds like a gnome (making an assumption with that name and the location she is gnomish) or whether it sounds like someone putting on a voice.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Alton, there's no sense that any occupant of the house has noticed you. You see several windows, curtains drawn, and don't perceive anything through them. There's the main door and a side door, both locked.
Wash (and anyone else who wishes to) please roll an Insight check.
Alton returns to Wash and Balassar, saying quietly, "All the windows are covered and the only other door is locked. Try telling her that you were hired by Sleese to check in and that he is really worried about her."

(Is Wash going ahead and knocking on the door? Or waiting for confirmation from the others?)

Wash, there is no response.

Wash, you don't see any movement or signs of life within the house.
"Maybe they didn't hear us." he says balling up his fist as he knocks on the door with a little more strength then he probably needed to.
OOC:
Strength check to knock on the door and knock it down: 5
It's a feeble blow. Balassar is off his game for some reason, and the door only wobbles slightly.
Nevertheless, you do hear a sound coming from within. A coughing, creaky voice: Oh, dear no. Stay away. You don't want to catch this sickness.
Wash calls out "I'm a doctor, I may be able to help you if you let me. We will take precautions if you let us inside."
No, no, no, no. No need. No.

Wash, you don't really know what to make of the words.
