Balassar, you feel the adrenaline pumping, and your strength returning - for now. Your scimitar cuts into the kobold, slicing through the torso and ending its life. Kobold 1 is dead.
Kobold 3 squeaks in response, reloads its crossbow and fires, this time at Alton:
Wash sees some life return to Balassar, so takes his hand off his healer’s kit, squeezes past his allies (half movement) to stand to the left of Alton, mutters "Thol si hwul" and releases a blast of energy from his outstretched hand at kobald 3: Attack role: 15 Damage: 6
Alton ducks as the bolt hits the wall just above his head and reaches up instinctively to check his topknot, "Wow, that was a close one." As he stands back up, Alton will thrusts his rapier at the kobold in front of him, "Have at thee!"
Action: Attack: 20Damage: 9 Piercing
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
Wash, the bolt of energy hits the kobold in the chest and seems to rip a large gash in it; you see blood, but the kobold remains shakily on its feet.
Alton, you skewer that kobold, right throw the stomach. As the rapier pieces it, you feel as though the weapon knocked against something small and metallic.
A fraction of a second passes; you are still in the position for your lunge.
BOOM!!!!
The kobold explodes, chunks for flesh and blood raining down around it.
Both Alton and Balassar need to make DEX saving throws. The DC is 10. On a failed save you take 2 bludgeoning damage, or 1 damage on a success.
The blast hits the body of kobold 1 now lying dead on the floor. And you start to hear a familiar high-pitched whine coming from the body.
Balassar just lets out another roar as the Kobold explodes. His eyes fixing onto the last one that shot him with a bolt as he charges the last Kobold attempting to grapple him by the throat with his hand.
**If successful**
Balassar will bare his teeth, his hot breath in the face of the Kobold as he merely says one word "Talk."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kobold's attempt to resist the grapple - Acrobatics17
Balassar, you grab the little kobold's upper arm and pin him against the wall. He squeaks weakly, but he is bleeding and badly wounded. You see the fight disappear from his eyes, and he goes limp in your hands. You hear it speak in draconic: Don't kill me. Please don't kill me. I will talk.
Combat is over and you are out of initiative. However, you still hear the whining noise coming from the body of Kobold 1.
Wash moves into the room next to Balassar and away from Kobald 1 and holds his action (or because we are out of combat, just waits) until either Balassar finishes interrogating the kobald, or until Alton is within reach. When either occurs, he will use the healer’s kit he gave them on them. I’ll roll the amount healed on them when relevant.
The Master? the kobold replies, still in draconic so only Balassar would understand. The Master is in the mountain. At the Silver Falls. I can guide you. I will take you there, kind and gentle warrior, if you spare my life.
The whining noise from the body of Kobold 1 is getting louder. The living kobold looks over nervously at it, though you appear to be out of the blast range.
Alton, you are able to find the device and remove it quickly, as you have seen this before. It's making a loud noise now, and you know it's only seconds before it explodes - what are you going to do with it?
Alton will take a quick look outside the door to see if there are people walking around outside. If there isn't anyone around he will toss the device about 10 feet outside the door. If there are people outside, Alton will stick the device in the fireplace and try to get out of the blast range.
There's no-one around, and Alton is able to toss the device harmlessly. It explodes. A few people come to the windows in nearby houses, but there was no-one in the street at the time, and no-one is likely to connect this to you.
With the danger of explosion removed, you head back in and you can all take a closer look at the interior of the house. If you wish to do so, make an Investigation check.
Wash says "I don't have rope, but I can do you one better - manacles - and don't ask why I have them." He winks cheekily, trying to make clear he is joking with the inference, then hands the manacles to Balassar.
He will then go with the intention of helping Alton investigate, but notices the unopened room (delaying investigation check unless DM will allow it to happen on the same turn/post) and calls out "Balassar, can you ask it - forcefully - what is in this other room?" readying an eldritch blast which he will release if another kobald or a goliath comes out of the room.
Wash can either help Alton with the investigation, so Alton can roll one more time, as he has advantage. Or Wash can make his own Investigation check. We're out of initiative and no longer need to act in turns, as (spoilers) there's no immediately threat.
Alton, you initial search reveals evidence of a struggle; some broken furniture, a pile of rubble in one corner, an empty chest with a broken lock. The dust suggests this happened at least a tenday ago.
This includes opening the door to the second room and looking in the kitchen cupboards.
When he gets a chance, he will also use Alton's healer's kit on him (can you deduct one use Sir-Karnic): 6
Then use Balassar's healer's kit on him (can you deduct one use Hambergler): 6
Not great healing rolls, luckily they get +4, as well as +1 per hit die a creature has. I can only do this once per short rest though, so hopefully everyone is close to full health.

Balassar just tightens his grip around the Kobold "I'm neither kind nor gentle to my enemies. Prove your use and maybe I'll spare you."
He looks to his companion "This one will lead us to their master in Silver Falls. Anyone have shackles or rope to bind him with."
