Glancing to those near her crock... "I would like half the teeth, so we can split them." She says. Then glancing back to the one who thought it was a dragon. "Hmm, dragon could be bad news..."
Pormas looks a bit worried "Well, I recon we'll find out what it is eventually. It's probably the same thing that was part of the attack here."
After the fishing and some time breaking down the the croc and getting the skin prepped for drying Pormas says "Well, I think we should start our journey in earnest. Evening is closing in. If everyone is ready?"
(If anyone wants to do more fishing, or anything else just give the word or make some casts. No reason you can't be fishing while the raft is moving :)
After ensuring that no one had caught a bigger fish than her (leaving aside the crocs), Bree will nod to the riverman. "Ayup. Sooner we're on the water, the better."
Pormas starts the raft moving up river. It takes a while to get any momentum going but once he gets it moving it goes as a steady pace. Not quickly by any means but steady. Perdot playing weatherman see's a bright glowing yellow orb (clear and hot). With the sound a sharpening stone being accompanied by some rather pleasant music and a setting sun one might be excused for feeling like they're on holiday. Pormas with a smile on his face says "I hope I'm not breaking the mood but I should tell you more about the river. It flows from the swamp which is a foul place. I don't know if anyone has noticed that the water is a little salty? Somehow it picks up salt bubbling up through the swamp." He lets out a little chuckle. "Welby might feel right at home hey" He says looking to the giant crab. He continues "I wouldn't drink it though. It's not as strong as sea water but we had to purify it back in town before using it for cooking and drinking" He nods to himself mumbling 'yes, yes, what else is good t know'
"Getting to the swamp, in normal times, isn't much trouble. There are some sand bars that we need to navigate around and after the rains they can shift so every year is a new challenge to navigate. In these times of war there are many places we'll have to take special care in. Areas where the river reeds grow high and will block our view to the banks. As much as I enjoy the music once the sun goes down we should try to be quiet as possible and hope we go unnoticed."
"Well in terms of the river mostly crocs but they usually keep to themselves unless they sense weak prey. There are some of his kind" He says pointing to Welby "Their only a problem if you disturb their nests, or hidey holes, or whatever you call em. The problem is with the murky water you can't right tell where they may be. As long as we stay off any sandbars we should be OK"
(Upriver. I know I did switch directions a couple times in my dialog. Sorry about that. But yeah, towards the swamp)
Pormas nods in agreement "Aye, most of the time it sure would. But these days with the enemy about sneaking around is the best. We'd be spotted quickly out here in the day." Which reminds him of the flying creature and he glances to the sky "May be they know where we are already!"
Roardaar stops to respond to Boriglar, "The Great Ones do not often work as underlings and spys. It would take an immensely powerful being to force one of their kind into that type of servitude. Let us hope we are not facing something such as that."
"Stealth can be important." Perdot says, adding "I know some magic that will help us to stay quiet... but I can only give us a few hours each day with it. If there are some areas you know that tend to be more dangerous let me know." ((pass without trace - I have 3 spell slots for it max))
In response to Roardaar "Jeeze, you don't say much but when you do it's, well, dreadful. That is not a comforting thought at all!" Shaking his head he looks to Perdot "Aye, will do"
Bree sits next to Wellby calmly listening to the chatter from Pormas and the others. She suppresses a yawn and looks upriver lazily. "All o' ye are ruining the fun of this. We're on' the water, wit'out Sarras screamin' at one o' us, or the reserves whisperin' 'bout us. As long as one o' us is keepin' an eye, we'll be fine." She gestures at the croc. "The river provides."

Content with ehr addition to the food supply, at least for the moment, Nolla pulls out her lyre and begins to play a sailing song on the instrument.
Performance: 25
(Ready to move along)
The heft Firbolg is quite at peace on the water and listening to the tune.
After ensuring that no one had caught a bigger fish than her (leaving aside the crocs), Bree will nod to the riverman. "Ayup. Sooner we're on the water, the better."
Perdot holds a hand out, and casts druidcraft to see the weather for tonight and tomorrow, and nods that he, too, is ready to head on.

Corin is ready too.

Corin will ask Pormas: "Other than crocs (and maybe dragons) are there any other creatures we should be keeping a watch out for?

Nolla nods in confirmation when she hears about not playing music after dark. She would play until it gets later though, but stop well before dark.
((Are we floating down river? Or is he sailing us up it? ie. To, or away from, the swamp?))
Perdot asks "would it not be safer to travel by daylight then?"

At the mention of the water being salty and usually having to be sterilized. Boriglar takes a scoop of his hand to put a little bit into the keg.
“Do.... do you think that thing was a spy?” Boriglar now looks up into the sky only to wince at the sun.
Give me a perception Boriglar.
(and noted that you added river water to the keg :)
