Coming into range Boriglar cracks the croc with his ready action and clocks it for 12 dmg, splitting it's hard head. You can see the croc is in very bad shape.
That definitely kills it Nolla! That almost would have killed it twice :)
We are out of initiative unless anyone wants to go diving after the croc that split.
Pormas eyes the group with a new respect. "You took care of them right quick! I usually just let em have the fish." Pointing to the dead croc on the raft "Well, that there's some good eating! I don't mind breaking it down as long as y'all are willin to share?"
Perdot will help to haul the beast aboard the boat pull out a dagger, place a hand on his heart in a quick prayer, and start to work with the captain on cleaning the creature, agreeing, saying "We shall eat well aboard the ship it seems."
Survival + Guidance: 22 + 1 - if possible (depending on roll) drying the skin so it could be used later, as well as collecting a few teeth/claws. ((just in case anyone wants to help: 13)) ((not needed - though in retrospect perhaps the capt could have been the help?))
Perdot has no problem breaking down the croc and does it neatly and efficiently.
(If anyone wants claws or teeth, have at it! Just looked it up, crocs have 64 teeth so divide as you will. IRL it takes about 3 days to tan a hide, but you are on the edge of desert so lets say 2. So yeah, totally doable if you want a croc skin!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bree is so distracted by the fishing she doesn't even notice the crocodiles until it is on the ship, and before she can even reach for her greatclub, Nolla has dispatched the beast who remains. The halfling chuckles in delight and relief. "Ayup. Croc tastes delicious. Best eating ye can find in a river."
She pauses, then slowly and reluctantly starts to put away the fishing gear to help keep a watch for anything else coming along the river or the shore.
Roardaar only collects trophies from worthy foes. A lowly beast is below his notice. He goes back to lookout duty.
((It would be easy to notice, so you'd know already, most of Perdot's gear, while seemingly well made, is very piecemeal. Patches of hide, or bark, or bone. He also takes good care of it keeping it safe each night. So this is less trophy, more not letting it go to waste.)) ((he will start to tan it, as it's a very sturdy material.))
There are a couple things that are noticed. The first is that the reserves are all headed out of the town, marching off to the north-east.
Bree:
Off in the distance, towards the setting sun you can see a large winged creature circling above the river. It is difficult to watch continually as the sun keeps getting in your eyes but it looks to be about a mile distant.
"Well, I think that gets us some fine eating for a while." Nolla says with a grin as she wipes her blade clean and replaces it in its sheath. She would gather any teeth the others don't want. She would put away her fishing gear as well, content with the gator she just took care of as her latest addition to the group's food supply.
Corin will find a place to sit and tend his croc bite and check his weapons. He doesn't care about any pieces of the croc although he has heard the tail is the best part of it to eat and will not turn that down when it is cooked.
Bree will watch the creature above them wordlessly for a time, trying to pull her hat brim down far enough to shield her eyes from the shining sun. After about fifteen minutes, she'll draw everyone's attention and point to the sky. "Up in the sky. Too big to jes' be a bird I reckon. Up about a mile, now. Might want to be careful going forward."
You're not 100% sure because it was retreating into the light but it's wing shape and the way it moves gets your heart racing. Just as it dips out of view you catch a glimpse of it in profile. It appears to be dragonkind but the shape of it's body is a little off.
(Oops, should have put that in a spoiler for Roardaar.)
"Well, at least it appears to be heading away." Nolla comments with a glance at the departing flying creature. "Anyone get a good enough look to see what it was?"
Oblivious to the bird, Boriglar has been inspecting the bodies of the crocodile. “I’ll take the teeth if no one wants them.” Then further looking at the meat on each creature. “I happen to be a fair cook, might be nice to experiment a bit.”
Perdot looks to Boriglar after prepping most of the animal and says "Take what you will. You never know when it may be helpful. I will help you cook if you need it." ((he's set aside a handful of teeth/claws for himself, but as you said, there is plenty. the skin will also be drying.))
Roardaar's stream of blue tinged white light streaks across to the uninjured croc and slams into it solidly causing 13 dmg.
That croc has decided the free fish meal isn't worth the trouble and turns and disappears beneath the water.
The other launches itself onto the raft in an attempt to bite Corin. Bite Attack: 21 Damage: 7
On hit Corin is grappled and restrained (DC12 to break)

That will bring us to Nolla.
That's what happens when you wear a helmet your whole life!

"Silly crock..." Nolla chides it. She draws her rapier and, cursing the beast with her hesblade's cuurse, strikes at it.
Move action: to crock and draw rapier.
Bonus Action: Hexblade's Curse.
Action: Booming Blade
To hit: 13 (crits on 27 or 28.)
Damage: 12 slashing and 2 thunder and 15 sneak attack. Another 4 thunder if the crock moves.
That definitely kills it Nolla! That almost would have killed it twice :)

(You would have to act a bit faster than that Bree... After 10 minutes it starts to fly off up the river away from you)

Roardaar looks in wide eyed wonder at the flying creature. Could it be...
He attempts to determine if it is a dragon.

Roardaar will relay to the others that he believes it was a dragon but he’s not 100% certain.
