OOC: Sounds like the preference is to go to Yelsa's office first. Does Maelfearance (or anyone else for that matter) wish to split up, or go together and then hit up some other spots in Parabor?
With the emotional support from so many, even if superficial, Ryona's dour mood eases. She returns the gnome's hug in a crouch, setting her belongings on the ground in doing so. Standing outside the Shrine of Lux with the others, she waits for some of the others to announce their intention first. She shakes her head to Noah's question and responds after Yevele. "She did ask that we come by later- though I'm also curious what final written words Elaria left us."
She looks around the village, keeping a hand on the pack at her side, thinking for a long moment. "Without any surviving kin here, if she left any affairs without accommodation, as the last residents with her, it will be our responsibility to take care of them. Not that I expect she has any."
Returning to face the rest, she continues with a little hush. "Mining towns in remote locations aren't known for their respect for the law, from vagabond to Governess, not that I heard of her engaging in anything shady. Before we go committing to anything, I'd be more at ease if we spoke with some of the folk more personally, first. I feel good about Yesela, but I don't think she was saying it was a lot to ask to come visit her, just over there." She points to the Solicitor's office.
With that, she points to Pegleg Trading Port and then to the Quill and Stopper. "I'm sure we can get an honest opinion at the local shops. Are the guards mercenary, loyal to the Governess first, or are they true defenders of the village? Does anyone claim to have debt from Feywing? Besides... we should grab a few things anyway, and it'll give Yesela time to do whatever she needs to first. Hopefully there's nothing to worry about, but let's not be hasty."
Ryona looks to Jarnick, motioning for him to come. "How about you join me to the trading post? Falenas and Noah, why don't you check the Quill and Stopper with Yevele? Then let's meet at The Rowdy Room before going together to the solicitor."
She shrugs noncommittally. "Or I'll just meet you there in a half hour or so."
"I'd also like to go to the Quill and Stopper, I think it would help me to get my head out of this. Although if the group's preference is to go to Ms. Hedwick's place now, I can go shop later. Also, take this Ryona"
Jarnick returns a awkward hug, the stiffness of his body make it even more awkward.
Jarnick agrees to go to the office but sees no reason to be hurried, and to Ryona, "Alright, we can go to the trading post together, is there anything else any of you need?"
((Mael will defer to the majority. She did ask we come by "later", whether that be to gather herself together or her papers, so the intention was merely to waste some time but if the party wishes to be insistent, Mael will be there with them.))
Noah shrugs. "I suppose Ryona is right. It may be wise to give Ms. Hedwick some time to collect herself before we visit - I'll gladly go with Falenas and Yevele to the Quill and Stopper, I have some coin on me."
If Falenas and Yevele agree, Noah departs with the two for the Quill and Stopper immediately.
OOC: Are Noah and Yevele contributing 1 gp or 2 gp to Ryona? I'll settle the money once we know exactly how much everyone is giving.
JARNICK & RYONA:
Neatly arranged rows of rope, tools, rations, and more line the perfect shelves of Pegleg Trading Post. A half-elf in tan pants and a green doublet is surprisingly nimble on his wooden leg as he stocks the shelves. He gives an enormous smile when he notices you in the shop. "Well met! What can I do for ya?" he asks.

FALENAS, MAELFEARANCE, NOAH & YEVELE:
The Quill & Stopper is a small shop, kept clean and neat. Several scroll cases marked with arcane runes and small vials of red and green liquid sit on display inside a glass counter. Behind the counter sits a well-groomed half-orc in blue robes reading a tome. He looks up as you enter and says in perfect Common, "Groknard Wrathaxe at your service. How can I be of assistance on this fine day?"
Yevele has no idea of what, if anything, that she should purchase. She stares around curiously at the wares on display, but, merely nods at the half-orc. At this point, she will let the others discuss their purchases.
Maelfearance is just browsing, trying to gauge a price range on everything from healing potions (and whatever else may be on display) to scrolls, magical weapons, perhaps even future training and such. One day his skills will grow, and with the Master gone he shall need some instruction and guidance for the next steps. But as he has no coin to spend, Mael is more visiting the location and getting a sense of it than shopping. He'll just be there a short time before heading to someplace near The Rowdy Room that looks comfortable to rest a spell, where he's unlikely to be bothered or harassed.
Once there he shall listen and watch through Rat, who is cautiously patrolling the bar/inn, and see if there is any useful gossip, town intrigue or any other information he could catch that he may find a use for... He'll pop out of Rat's senses often to be sure of the surroundings around him, popping back in when reassured he's safe.
"Just browsing for now, sir!" Noah calls as he enters the Quill and Stopper.
Noah remains largely uninterested in committing to buying anything initially, electing to juts leisurely peruse the shop, making small talk with his companions along the way. His demeanor appears to have noticeable lightened from the funeral. After browsing the available displays for a couple of minutes, the suddenly very easygoing sorcerer casually makes his way towards the counter, waving at the shopkeep.
"Well met, Mr. Wrathaxe. You run a quite fine establishment here - if you do not mind my asking, could you give me a price range for wands of a decent quality? I have crafted one myself, but I fear that it is not of very spectacular craftsmanship. If you could suggest a replacement, then I would be most obliged for your help."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Like their companions, Falenas is going to browse looking for interesting things that may be useful, maybe something that can enhance one's magical abilities, but without any expectation of him being able to buy.
He will also try to see what's Groknard reading. Perception: 16
After Noah's finished, Falenas will talk to the half-orc. You'll notice that he's not speaking in his usual shy tone. Instead, he's smiling much more as he's talking and generally being more charming "Curious place to have an arcane goods establishment. If you don't mind me asking, do you get many customers? I didn't imagine that there were many people around here that have the taste for the fine articles that I see in this store".
Ryona returns the half-elf's greeting with a nod and a semblance of a smile. She takes a quick look about, holding her belongings over her left shoulder. "It's no emergency. Do you have a couple on hand?"
Walking in, she sets her belongings at the side of the desk or counter where business is done. Waiting for his response, she'll put the few gold her friends gave on the counter and dig out her pouch of coin from within her pack. "Looks like you have plenty of work to do. Does the Governess manage to keep things quiet around here? I suppose you get plenty of business, with adventurers like us around, but I have to wonder if you get a lot of trouble too. From the others looking for a place to go."
She relaxes her collar a little, as if to cool down, letting her amulet of Tyr be visible.
OOC: Removed 2 gp from Yevele, 1 gp from Falenas, and 2 gp from Jarnick (healer's kits are 5 gp, so I'm assuming Ryona won't want to take the extra gold).
Added a healer's kit to Ryona's inventory.
JARNICK & RYONA:
"Of course, I've got all manner of mundane gear and tools," the half-elf moves spryly to fetch the desired items. "The Governess leaves us be for the most part, but she knows how to step in when she's needed. 'Course, can't say we run into too much trouble. Good thing about running a shop in a town known for its famous adventurers is, no one wants to make 'em angry!"
The train of thought clearly brings him to Elaria, and his gaze becomes more sorrowful. "Terribly sorry to hear about The Master. Her classes have kept me in business for a while, and never a mean thought escaped her lips," he offers.

"Curious thing, that, about the economics of an arcane establishment," Groknard smiles, closing his book shut sharply and sliding it across the counter. "I could have one twentieth Montague's customers and still keep up with his business due to the price of magical goods."
The curious half-orc walks among the shelves, pointing out the items on display. "If wands are what you after, I do have some fresh out of the woodworker's for ten gold pieces. I dare say your own will be quite serviceable, however; I may be putting myself out of a sale, but I've always found any old arcane focus to serve as much purpose as the next. A capable adventurer will find a new wand dirtied after a few tendays on the road anyway."
The title of the book that Groknard was reading is Memory of the Forest.
OOC: I'll resolve Maelfearance's trip to The Rowdy Room once business has wrapped up here, in tandem with the next step for the other members of the party.
Ryona is quiet for a moment as she looks to her pouch to count a few more coin for the second kit, but her disposition brightens a little as if to balance the room's mood. "I'm glad she was so well thought of- it does warm my heart. Did anyone in the village ever become her students? Where I grew up, we didn't have anyone like Master Feywing."
She looks to Jarnick. "Do you think we'll need a a grappling hook? Oh, for sure, we need a sack or two and chalk. Maybe some spikes or candles?"
After ordering a sack and some chalk, and whatever Jarnick grabs, Ryona chats in a friendly way for just a bit longer with the half-elf, thanking him for his help. She'll head to the tavern with Jarnick when he is ready.
Jarnick listens carefully to their conversation, sorrow and grief seems to come fast and go fast in his young mind, turning them into energy and determination, he grins at the half-elf, "You wouldn't run out of customer while we are here."
"I'll defer to your decision, I do not know what we will come up against...Oh, this reminds me, maybe we should buy something that can help us unlock things, that was one thing we struggled with at the first test, do not know if we have the gold to buy that though." Jarnick responds to Ryona.
(OOC: If Ryona buys another Healer's Kit Jarnick will pay one more gp.)
"Does anyone even know how to use that?" She smirks at the irony. "I don't think we can afford it anyway."
Ryona will expand the final order to include another healing kit (assuming the full use of donations), two sacks, 2 chalk, a set of spikes and lastly, a grappling hook if it can be afforded. She'll give the spikes and hook to Jarnick, chalk to Yevele and Falenas, a sack to Noah and herself, and one healing kit to Maelfearance.
"Well, I'm afraid I am not of my weight in gold to purchase much that could be of use to me, in that case. Thank you for the advice - I wouldn't want to leave you empty handed." Noah fishes around in his change pouch for a few seconds before pulling out a gold piece, which he hands to Groknard. "Just as a token of my gratitude - if the others would want to pitch in for some potions, or if we return with fatter coin purses, I will be sure to give you my patronage."
Noah observes the craftsmanship of some of the finer wands, taking notes for future modification of his own for some artistic flavor. He will then take a comfortable position by the door, waiting patiently for his companions to finish their shopping.
