Fearing for his companions safety were they to try negotiating the side of the path in heavy armor, Alkyn dexterously sets off the snare, and dances clear of it's effect.
Alaric nods to Eraminus, "It was. A simple snare. We need to be careful; there may be more."
Alvara is impressed by the dexterity Alaric displays in setting off the trap. "We're lucky to have you in the lead, Alaric," she whispers with gratitude, carefully following behind in order.
A thought crossed her mind. "Barek, was this one of the traps set by your clan?"
Danger momentarily passed, she turns to answer Flint's question, "The elders said I showed great aptitude towards learning magic as a child and thought the Great Library would be the perfect place for my education. Some kids might have been bored being stuck in a library every day... but I loved it. All the arcane knowledge known to elf-kind in one place, just waiting for me to unlock its secrets." Her expression turned wistful as she remembered the scent of the dusty tomes and quiet echoes of the library hallways.
Eraminus glanced back at Alvara, "Good thing you enjoyed it. Growing up and being educated by Monks felt like torture. The Abbot had an affinity for wrapping on knuckles of his pupils." He rubbed his knuckles jokingly.
Noting the sun has set and the growing darkness, Alvara looks at her companions, studying each one in turn for a moment. "Can you all see in the dark? I know us elves and dwarves are usually blessed with darkvision..."
Flint rases his head from studying the ground and tells the group, “There are maybe a dozen of Barek’s brethren that have walked this trail recently. I can't tell much more.”
To Alvara Flint says, "Aye, island life has not taken my darkvision from me."
Flint considers his earlier conversation with Alaric about how to get at Klarg without having to go through every goblin in the cave. He approaches Barek and says “Look little one, we only want to rid ye of Klarg and get our dwarf and human back. Ye could earn some gold and spare other goblin’s lives if ye convince your other kin in the cave to stand back while we accomplish this. Do ye think ye could do this?”
Flint lets Barek consider his question for a while, then says “Quietly give me your answer” and peels back the gag for a moment.

Eraminus nods, "I'll follow you then." His foot placement nearly matching Alaric's own

(Assuming they took the gag out for him to answer.)
"Barek no know about trap, but I thinks clan build it."

Is Barek lying?: (Not sure which is needed, if any: Perception: 17; Insight: 14)
Alaric:
Barek seems to be being as truthful as he can.

Alaric grunts, "Whoever put that there wasn't too worried about you setting it off...not the best friends to have."
He then continues down the path, cautiously.
"Ah... so that's the great secret of how monks hone their fists for fighting!" Alvara smiles in jest at Eraminus' comment as she continues walking.
She laughs at Alaric's remark, nodding, "We'll have to be careful, who knows what other traps these goblin friends may have set..."
Eraminus chuckles and turns his attention to Barek, "How far out are we?"
"Path go on little longer, then cave."

Following along, Alvara looks to the sky to check the time of day and to estimate how long they have left until sunset.
(( Not sure if any roll is needed ))
Eraminus nods, his eyes scanning his surroundings. He steps around a branch.
It is nearing dark, the sun set almost an hour ago, and the remaining light is quickly diminishing.

Flint watches the ground carefully, looking for tracks and dragmarks. He is trying to estimate how many goblins use this trail and how often.
Survival Check: 20
Flint:
Are far as Flint can tell, maybe a dozen or so tracks can be seen.
