Rash was a word that most people who'd met Ramious would use to describe him. Rash and...quick to anger. The quick to anger part he got from his mother. It was difficult to say which was more damaging to his life, the rash or the anger. Until recently he would have claimed neither had much benefit to him at all. In his adventures though, both had found a way to become benefits...at least most of the time. Ramious walks towards the coin curiously. Who could say if this was the time his rashness caught up with him. He reached down to pick the coin up and examine it more closely.
He holds it up to the sun, showing it to the group. "This coin doesn't look too old."
Not one to be stopped by a coin on the ground, he presses on into the nearest building and begins going door to door....moving quickly and with minimal cautious as he explores the outer ruins, leading the others as he goes.

The ruin with the coin seemed no different from others (from outside) but inside, past the first room, there was another - relatively small with, may be, a bit less covered floor and surprisingly intact walls. Each wall was decorated with a carefully carved hand print right in the middle of it.
"We should stay together." Leon says, joining Ramious in looking inside the building. He frowns at the hand prints. "Do we want me to take time to get detect magic up, or should we keep moving."
Ramious looks to Leon, "Might as well see if there's any magic here. I agree, we should stay together. Anyone want to touch the walls with me?" He grins a lopsided grin and presses his hand into one of the hand prints.

Alyssa would have followed and stood back out of the way in silence, occasionally jotting in her journal. After a moment, she’d add to the conversation in a soft voice. “I know you usually do the detecting Leon... but I do have it prepared today if we wanted to save the time...”
(I’m assuming her Archaeology background doesn’t come into play here?)
Feature: Historical Knowledge
When you enter a ruin or dungeon, you can correctly ascertain its original purpose and determine its builders, whether those were dwarves, elves, humans, yuan-ti, or some other known race. In addition, you can determine the monetary value of art objects more than a century old.
Not one to be left behind, Bugs follows. "While they are getting the magic bit set up, I'll touch the wall with ya," Bugs says to Ramious. When they are ready he would touch the wall.
(Already did - this is how Alyssa was able to tell that the cultures of both cities are related, but that one predates Otomi, and that the city was built by humans. The buildings around do look like houses to live in (the pyramid, obviously, not). )
Whoever tried to detect magic could tell that each of four hand prints gives away a weak aura of Transmutation. Though, nothing happened when Ramious and Bernard placed their hands on two of the wall signs.
Leon did do the detect magic... "Save your prepared spells, who knows when we might need to do this quicker." He says. "When we have time let's just save our spells we can cast quicker."
"Really, we are doing this then?" He says once Ramious and Bugs place their hands in the hand carvings on two of the walls. He finished his detect magic, then gives a shrug. "Just as well I suppose." He puts his hand in one of the other hand carvings. "Best not loose that hand..." He warns Ramious.
You expected something like this, of course. Ok, may be not exactly like this but reality doubtfully too exceeded expectations. As soon as Alyssa's slender hand touched the hand print on the wall, the earth shuddered and gapes opened beneath your feet - the floor simply disappeared. You were falling in a cloud of dust, debris, accumulated on the floor for years, and unlucky plants that grew over it. The fall is not too long and you are certainly not the first victim of that ... trap? entrance? , you landed on something ... less hard than a stone, but is was a sudden fall nevertheless.
(Dex save DC8, or take 1d6 damage, Ramirous did not have enough room to fly but could probably slow down his fall and avoid damage)
As dust was settling down, the sunlight disappeared above your heads, and the darkness swallowed you - the stone floor reappeared back on the surface.
On a plus side, you were not immediately attacked by any undead (or something alive). However, familiars were not with you at the moment of falling - a minor inconvenience, but unpleasant.
Before the floor reappeared and blocked the light, you all could see the stone walls of a square room and debris-covered floor, but now only Alyssa and Ramirous could truly assess your surroundings, colored in all shades of grey. The debris of the floor largely consists of bones, suspiciously looking like human one. There are two exits: one with a door, made of slabs of stone, half opened, the other is blocked by a huge skeleton of some animal, you can only pray to be extinct - definitely a carnivore, quite likely responsible for the bones on the floor. It's dead quiet in here and - another pleasant surprise - much cooler than on the surface (though, air could be fresher).

Bug's dex save 17 even if rolling a 1 he'd still hit 8
Bugs is surprised but is able to keep his feet underneath him. "Well, that was not unexpected. But no undead..." he says with a half hearted laugh.
Bugs squinted as the light started to dim and then everything snapped back into focus. He turned to see Leon finishing the spell and smiled while uttering a "thanks."
Pulling out a dart, he took aim and threw it at the bone creature. Then waited for the reaction.
Ramious lands heavily on his feet, his wings instinctively splaying out to slow his fall. Pulling his wings in, he looks up as the floor reforms. Then he looks around the room. "What?! What the hell??!! Who put their magical energy into creating such a thing?!!?" he demands, exasperated. In a sudden burst of frustration he moves over to the large skeleton blocking one of the exits, he grabs a huge bone and throws it out of the way, grabbing another one, then another. Stomping on angled bones to smash them in half before moving them. Grunting, smashing, and cracking fill the room along with a small cloud of dust as he lets out some of his emotion through his fists. When the door is clear he finally stands up straight, huffing and puffing. "I feel better now. Sometimes you just have to smash stuff, you know?"

Nothing ever prepares you for the ground to fall beneath ones feet... you still get that jolt of vertigo. And that’s what Alyssa felt the moment it gave way. Though, much like the others, she was able to catch herself on the landing with fair ease.
The elf would have just finished dusting herself off when Ramious would kick up a cloud from releasing his emotions on the skeletons. She’d blink a couple of times and wait for the particles to settle a little bit before offering their tiefling a soft smile. Alyssa would approach and give him a gentle squeeze of his arm before moving forward through the path he cleared.
The skeleton did not fight back, as Bernard rightfully suspected. At least those bones were just that - bones. Old, fragile bones, that Ramious pulverized in his anger.
Behind the skeleton Alyssa found only one room - quite big, but empty, with the floor covered by more human bones and skulls (crushed by the big teeth and dead as well). It looks like a lair of the now completely eliminated beast. There is no other exit here.
The walls inside both rooms you saw so far are constructed of blocks of unmortared stone covered by stucco. The ceilings are of the same material, supported by corbel arches. It is old - very old, and though hold for all that time, looks suspiciously unreliable. So much so, that climbing that or applying any considerable force to them does not feel like a good idea.
The room behind the half opened door also looks big and very quiet.

Ramious looks around the lair, poking through bones and picking at the mortar on the walls. He asks Alyssa to help him poke around. Investigation : 18. (assuming she "helps")
Alyssa would hover around their tiefling, helping him poke around and investigate. “Do you detect anything Leon?” She would wonder out loud. Though, perhaps he would have mentioned it if he did.

Leon dex save: 20
Leon, having expected 'something' to happen, manages to land more-or-less on his feet as the floor drops away.
As darkness fills the area, he first casts darkvision on himself, then on Bugs.
Once that is done he takes a moment to summon his familiar to appear next to him. (send to extrademinsional-space, then have appear next to Leon.)
