"Looks like someone would have to crank that wheel to open it. Seems difficult climbing thr ladder up, maybe someone wants to fly up there to try?" He waits a moment. "I'm concerned though that this is like some big water chamber though and this place will fill up. Hard to think how being this far up or that the place could still be water right..."
Ramious mutters, "Well, here goes nothing." He uses his mage hand to push the lever up. If that doesn't work, he tries to crank the wheel with his mage hand.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The lever moved - not right away, and at some point it looked like more force would be needed, but then it budged and slowly, with obvious difficulty went all the way up. With that several things happened at once: the wheel turned with a loud grating sound; the hatch above begun to open up and soft golden light shined from the opening; the crashing sound from the short corridor you came in revealed that the stone lintels were actually hiding the sliding blocks, that now completely plugged that exit - and Bernar's prediction came true.
Jets of water struck from every corner (DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone and get 5 bludgeoning damage) and the room indeed begun to fill up. Fortunately, it was not the same spring that dragon statue used - the water was cold, and it was water, but it was coming in quite fast.
With flap of the wings and those metal rungs on the walls Ramious pulled himself up and could take a look at the room above. He could see a circular chamber, quite big with some stuff along the walls, seemingly no one alive (at least nobody attacked) and a softly glowing column in the middle of it.
He scrambles up and spins around, laying flat on the ground looking down the hole, reaching down with a big arm...dripping with water, he yells, "Get up here, come on, take my hand...."

Rising water made it easier to move along the rungs, even the broken one. Helping each other out, you reached the hatch before water claimed you. Looking back, you could see that the water level stopped just a couple inches from the entrance to the upper room. Wet, but alive and relatively unharmed you now had a chance to look around.
And there is something to look at indeed. Taking up the middle of the chamber is a cross-shaped dais with sets of stairs leading up to it along each of the four ends. In the center of the dais rises a cylindrical structure that appears to be made of transparent walls of crystal enclosing an oddly carved, stone pillar. Coiled about the pillar, trapped within the magic walls of the crystal cylinder surrounding it, is a creature, the looks like a long, feathered serpent with a pair of rainbow-feathered wings. It is motionless but very life-like, as if caught in a moment and frozen in time.
The stairs that face the room’s entrance are carved with the heads of many gods. The steps on the north side are bloodstained, and atop the landing stands a statue of a warrior. The stairs to the east, across the room, are partly obscured by shadow. The southern staircase is luminescent, appearing to change colors in the light, above them on the wall is a jade death mask affixed at chest height.
Tucked into each nook where the arms of the cross come together is a low shelf on which are placed small offerings: silver bracelets, earrings, neck collars, anklets, piles of coral beads, and silver and jade statuettes.
(Ramious has no rope...I checked before falling back to the "helping hand" technique...lol)
Dripping with water, Ramious looks at the setup of this new room they've entered. He looks at the statue of a warrior and makes a grimace, "That does give me a warm feeling." He glances at the treasure, then at the mask, and then the pillar...his eyes dancing around.
Then he puts his hands on his hips and says, "Welp.....I'm out. I'll be in the corner making some poetry, or....carving something out of wood....." He grins at the group.
Then he sighs VERY heavily...and says, "Fine. Anyone got any ideas, I'm happy to be the canary."

Bernard wasn't wrong, the cold water was refreshing. Once hauled to safety, again, it was easier to appreciate without a jet knocking her down. Alyssa would still use her magic combinations to dry herself off, but when Ramious would comment out of character, she'd glance up with a quirked brow.
The serpents rainbow-feathered wings would catch her eyes. Immediately Alyssa would reach for her notebook and stride passed Ramious into the room. Wide-eyed, almost in awe, she'd walk right up to the life-like creature. Her eyes darted around in excitement as she admired its colours, feathers and wings as if daydreaming of a pair of own. Rocking up onto the balls of her feet, the elf would reach out with a hand. She was so tempted to touch, but would stop just short of grazing a feather.
Now that she was further into the room, the stairs would catch her eyes. She'd gesture to them with her pen. "Stairs this time." Alyssa would blurt as she'd take a hesitant step back to begin sketching and making her notes.
Alyssa would not be able to touch the crystal walls anyway, or, better say, could not reach it from just any direction. The stairs did not allow it - all but one one way or another prevented the ascend. But the wizard got a chance to thoroughly investigate the effects: the heads carved into the western stairs begun to babble when she stepped on them and she suddenly felt even weaker than her curse made her, the southern stairs changed color constantly, but that was not a culprit by itself, something - magic, of course - made her walk up without making any progress (she was allowed to step down, though), and finally the eastern stairs, that are shrouded in dim light, were so slippery, she realized she will fall if makes one more step.
But the northern one - those that led to the warrior, the bloodstained - that could be walked. Though the warrior itself did not look that welcoming and was all covered in armor - so much so, it could be as well a suit of armor. There are glyphs, carved right on the stairs around the warrior's feet, "Only the brave, smart and devoted will open the door."
Leon would start casting detect magic as soon as they entered, though he felt it was only to verify how magical the place was, he felt he could see the magic without the spell, but cast it anyway.

”If water becomes a concern, I might be of some us there.” It’d depend on how much.

Ramious raised his muscular arms to try and block the spraying water, and shouted, "BUGS, I HATE IT WHEN YOU'RE RIGHT!!!"
Using his wings and all his other limbs, Ramious attempts to leap up to the open hatch and pull himself up as quickly as possible....
