"Smart one, huh? Go on, the weapons would not find themselves!" The comment was brief but Alyssa could get the satisfaction of getting the answer right.

The obstacle was dangerous but did not really slow down the group - Ramious made and olympic jump, while Bernard arranged a "whistling" transportation for himself and Alyssa (Leon too?). Leon could travel to the other side of the slimy puddle in silence - an ominous silence but silence nevertheless. Immediately after that Wave had spoken again but, surprisingly, a few decibels lower: "Of course Poseidon is the God of warriors - the true warriors! You will prove yourself to me, and I will share his might with you - then together we shall strike for his name and his glory!"  Wave was repeating itself but since the previous declaration was heard only by Bugs, probably did not see the problem here. "I know who you are talking about," continued the everchatting trident, "we used to fight together... Good days."  The sudden quietness after that was filled with the teary nostalgia.

The corridor on the other side turned (another javelin from Bernard's stock did not reveal anything dangerous on the floor) and came to the intersection. You could turn left or continue straight forward - as far as you could see the corridors looked the same.

Let's use two uses of the whistle for Alyssa and Leon and one use of the swarm ability for Bugs to gain flying for a minute.  Just in case we need that last charge for a more robust flying situation.

"That sounds good to me then." Leon says with a nod to the trident. "God of sea seems apt for the Githyanki, I can likely even convert some of my kin to the teaching of such a one." He follows along after Bugs and Rammious as they continue along.

"Turning left, executive decision by the leader here.  No complaints or you'll find d yourselves working the weekend shift." Bug says and turns left.

Ramious joking grumbles along as he follows, "Wait...some of you get weekends off?"  He glances back at Leon, "Sellin yer soul AND yer people's souls to the trident already eh?"  He looks back forward and clucks his tongue, "Not so easy tamin a weapon.....hehe...."

Glancing up from the weapon Leon looks to Ramious. "You don't know much about my people, do you?" Leon says with an amused smile. "I would guess many already follow this god of sea, as we do live on the astral sea after all. Any god of war is good by my people. This weapon is not the god though, meerly a follower of this sea god."

Ramious shrugs, "I mean, replace 'your people' with just about anythin cept smashin heads and you got me pegged."  He grins a toothy grin.

Alyssa would take the whistle across. She'd pad along quietly behind the others as they chatter about.

 Bernard confidently turned left and walked along the corridor that still seemed harmless and was not even that long, ending at the typical for that dungeon large iron-bound oak door, swollen by dampness and difficult to open. Familiarity helped, though - eventually the door was pushed in to reveal a room (20 x 30 ft) with another door on the opposite side. It was not empty: five flesh golems were clustered against the opposite wall. Each with a number on its chest: 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13.After a moment of silence all golems made a step forward, forming a line that blocked the door and the golem with number 5 on its chest looking somewhere between the intruders said in a monotone voice: “You came, you have to answer the question. One of us does not belong with the others. If you can pick it out, it will serve you, and the others will allow you passage. If you pick the wrong one, we will kill you. You have sixty seconds.”

Bernard shrugs, "It's 9, the others are prime numbers."

"That is correct." The answer came from Number 9, that made another step towards the party, while the rest freed the path to the door. "I will go with you. How do you want to proceed." The questions was not easy to detect in the even indifferent speech but the body (or should it be "flesh?") language was clear - the golem now was waiting its orders.

Ramious looks at Bernard with an open mouth, “Are you some sorta wizard?  That was so fast!  What the heck is a prime number?!? You know what, never mind.  Nine. I’ll always pick 9. Plus it has a little circle in it. The other ones don’t have any little circles.”

Ramious turns to address the golem, “Hey you.  You listen to me, got it?  Ok. Now. Open that door over there for me.”

Bug chuckled a little, then he jumps striking a crouched pose with his arms outstretched and fingers wiggling, "Wizard!..."  He chuckles again, "No, I'm not a wizard but," he says and grings up a hand and huge blue bug flew into his hand.  "Cicadas are strange bugs, they come up, mate and then sleep in the ground for years.  Usually 7, 11 or 13 years.  All prime numbers."

He shifts from foot to foot, "Anyways... You heard him Nine, let's get that door open."

"Yes, master." The meatbag (with the literal meaning of the word) turned around, dragged itself to the door and without a visible effort (though, come to think of it, the body and "face" of the golem are not the most expressive things to make any kind of expression visible) opened the door, revealing another drained out corridor behind. Very short and with some stairs up at the end this time.  

The golem stepped aside awaiting new orders.

"Handy." Leon said as he watched the golem perform its orders. "Likely should keep it out front, so as not to stab us in the back, as I wouldn't totally trust anything in this place myself." He suggests as he keeps an eye on the other golems.

Do the steps go up or down?   Just wondering if they go down then maybe we want to look at that other hallway first?  I think one of the weapons was with us going real deep in the mountain.

"... with some stairs up..."  The steps go up.

Did Alyssa roll portent for today? What were the numbers? (And a reminder (mostly to myself) - you use portent before you/ally/monster roll dice for something)

Ooc thanks for clarifying, I read up like up at this end, like we are going up town.  As in a direction, not an elevation change.  English is weird.

Bugs motions with his hand and says, "Nine, we will just call you Nine for ease so if that wasn't your name it is now.  You will lead the way up and should you spot traps you are to not approach or activate them and provide what information that you know about them."

Ramious turns to Bugs grinning, "Oh, come on....let's have some fun, if he spots traps he's certainly to activate them!  If we've got a meat bag, while not roll it through all the trouble for us!"  He stops, and puts his hand on Bugs shoulder and says, "9...stop!"  He glances up at the ceiling, then at the group, "Exceeeept....this dude..."  he motions his thumb to the ceiling "...he put this guy here knowing we'd have him. What if we go back to the start and go the other way with him. He'd be expecting us to try and walk him through all the traps this way, but....maybe not the other way."  He smiles broadly at what is surely a genius idea.
