"They are..." definitely begun Wave but suddenly shut up and after a little while the whining changed into a triumphant humming while three prongs stubbed the undead.
The creature still "lived" but obviously not for long.
And Alyssa did it! G7 fall to the steel, chopped into pieces.
As if not noticing that, though, the remaining two ghouls attacked again, one each adventurer, not having enough brain between them to consolidate the attacks.
That was a good swing and a good blow, just not enough to finish off the monster. Still, now, just two already injured ghouls against four of you - they did not stand a chance, nor could they seriously harm anyone anymore. Soon the battle was fully over and the party was standing in the heaps of the chopped stinky undead meat.
The room itself was empty, as well as the small room where ghouls were waiting for their prey. The only paths leading out were the heating corridor and the stairs up on the opposite side.
Taking a deep breath after the battle, Ramious collects himself (Second wind: 6) and examines the very first attack which had snuck past his neck guard and wounded him pretty badly. Meh, he'll live.
He looks around at the group. "Well, that was a nice little tussle. Everyone ok?" He steps over the bodies and checks out the room with a bit more of an eye for detail.
Empty rooms, both of them. There are some scratches on the walls and floor, a few metal splashes - you are certainly not the first group that made it through the heating corridor only to be ambushed by the ghouls. Who knows, some of those ghouls could be your predecessors.
But unlike them, you lived. Interestingly, Keraptis did not bother to comment on the fact.
The owl took to the air, flew past the stairs turned twice and was stopped by the door. If you wanted to get to the next room, you would have to do it yourself.
As soon as Leon mentions this, Ramious nods and takes point. He strides up the stairs and begins moving down the hallway. He moves cautiously, watching for more devious traps as he goes, and stays 10 feet in front of everyone else.

What's the difference between a Wizard and a Sorcerer? Class.
It was a bit tricky to keep everyone at the distance in this small corridor but they could stay in relative safety while Ramious was investigating.
At first glance, there was nothing to investigate - a big metal door, not even ornated, besides simple geometrical decorations, with the round recess and the lever inside it. It looked as if a pull should open it, hinting at some semblance of intelligence of those who were supposed to get through. No visible traps, and should Leon insist on ten minutes break to activate his detect magic, the door did not emanate any magical aura.
The door did not zap Ramious and missed a perfect opportunity to chop off his hand. Instead, it opened up or, better say, begun to open: when the entrance was wide enough for a humanoid to step through, something big fell from the top on the other side. Ramious could not say what it was immediately, but his reflexes would allow him to catch that something before it reaches the floor. If he wanted, of course.
(If Ramious is willing to catch "the thing" it would be Dexterity/Acrobatiks DC15)
"The thing" was quite big and slippery - a glass cube, filled with something. Ramious's attempt to catch it sent the cube down spinning and next moment it hit the stone floor and smashed to myriads of pieces, sending shards of glass everywhere. The echo bounced of the walls but the sound did not die out, instead, it changed into surprisingly loud hissing - from the pile of glass on the floor raised numerous snake heads and at least two big knots of black rope-like bodies slithered toward Ramious.
Leon deflects the attack with arcane deflection.
"You are destroying these foul beasts..." he mentally says to the trident. "What more fitting end than they are destroyed on your prongs?"

Seeing that he wasn't having much luck with his blade. He stepped back pulled out his bow. Taking aim at G4 he let out a two arrows.
Stepping to the right one square.
Will shoot two arrows. At G4 if it's still alive, then G5, then G7 or G8 in that order

One arrow - one enemy. Well, the second missed, but G4 was now just a pile of bones and rotten meat on the floor.
Heavily wounded G5 and G7 with still unharmed G8 was all that's left. G7 continued his futile attempts to get that slippery and so hurting elf:
Attack: 14 Damage: 8
but wounds were severe enough to make it missed yet again.
