I stop absentmindedly poking around the shop, a moment after everyone else left, largely oblivious to the conversation that took place with the shop keeper.
As I hurry to catch up and we head towards the treeline, i say to the group at large, out loud: "Apologies my new friends! I sometimes forget how disquieting that can be the first time, but of course I meant you no harm. Corax here" <gesture towards the large Raven that has resettled on my shoulder> " is a poor conversationalist at best, and I'd almost forgotten what it's like to speak aloud."
(Edited after I realized we were already through the alley)
You notice the forest itself is alive with magic! Either beast or plant life you are too far away to tell but emanating from the tree line is a tremendous arua
Below 15 perception
The tree line is ominous but it does not seem supernatural by any means.
Above 15 perception
There is a creature only slightly visible before darting away for cover

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
{Add the potion to your possessions and subtract the gold} You do not notice the magical aura of the trees nor see the anything in the tree line.
Elly, Gauldring, and Kohl
Going closer to the treeline you notice the creature now that you're the closest, you stop as a female tiefling raises up from her hiding place in the trees. How do you react?
It's illusionary in nature and very, very strong changing the very appearance of the trees but whatever else is just beyond the grasp of you mind, just out of reach as if it's miles ahead.
{If anyone would like to post a good visual reference/art of their character please feel free, I myself will try to include more visual depictions of the game!}

Surprised by the sudden entrance of the tiefling, I brandish my sword out in front of me defensively. After noticing they're friends with Elly, I rest it on my shoulder again and give them a good look over.

I start toward the forest. It seems creepy, but that's what we are here for.
I'm sure it's fine.

I press on, unfazed by all of the "Spooky" stuff, determined to reach our destination.
"The hero sought to save the world.
"If I keep trying, I'll be able to win," the hero thought.
But the harder the hero fought, the further the world seemed to tumble away.
Drowning in doubt, the hero could not even save themselves.
Hero, if you still believe in a brighter future, hold in your heart a thorn that can pierce all doubt."

I attempt to focus on the magical aura as best I can without falling behind, while having Corax keep a lookout for any more movement
Is this a tiefling I recognize?

As the head of the group, I rush forward and jump up to hug the tiefling.
"Zillah!! I thought you weren't going to be able to come with me? I found some other folks that were looking for the maze."
I turn around and introduce everyone.
Elly- Gnome Cleric The Black Maze
ZIllah quickly jumps back
"blech.. foul creature! What did I tell you about touching? I got a little lost, but I found you."
she turns and nods to the rest of the group, examining them.

Walking 10-15 feet behind the front of the group, I nod my head to Zillah.
