Vanessa gives Feldspar a hard look but Osysa let's out a little growl with a chuckle to it. A feminine smile comes to its lips as it bends down and looks over the rest of you.
“I have watched from afar, Hunters. I sensed your arrival. I saw your fate bend towards ours and cross. At this intersection, I greet you, and welcome you, proven ones, to our family.”
Osysa bows and closes her eyes ever so slightly. She acknowledges everyone’s existence. You see now, Hunt master Vanessa is in a very, very deep bow, and stands, giving you all this look of, don’t do anything stupid.
“I have been keeper of this temple for hundreds of years," Osysa begins again, "now, we’ve built this into a tradition that you have all now come into. And at this moment, you will come to bear the mark and be known as our allies.”
Her eyes suddenly flare up with an intense blue flame for a second. All of you, simultaneously, at that moment feel this sharp, sudden burning sensation in your right shoulder. You instinctively reach over and grab towards it. There’s no heat on the arm, but there is that burning pain. Pulling your armor or clothing aside as best you can and look and there, over your right shoulder you can see this same brand that you saw adorning the shoulder of Vanessa she now bares proudly. She as well as everyone, you assume, in the guild has the same mark. It is now raised upon your skin, seemingly already healed. Like a long-healed burn or brand mark. The pain slowly subsides into a dull sensation, but it is not a fresh burn. There is not any peeled skin. It looks like it maybe happened a few months ago, and yet there it is.
"Now, I have been here building this place and this guild for some time, with the intent of helping rid the landscape of dangerous prey and helping those who are also aligned with the good of the realm to bring their more powerful enchantments and uses to light.” Osysa explains with a serious tone. “It is here through this Heartglass that Ioun herself extends my vision to watch the world. From here, I can see where our quarry lies and lays rest. When contracts are brought to our attention, I can see if they can or cannot be hunted. I can see where the worlds flow between. I can watch over my mate, wherever far they may be. This gift came at a price to me, but the good I can do, that we can do, is far more important than my sacrifice. “The limits fall to where will would be bent against what wishes to be seen. In person, I can peer through many veils, but the further I tread with my sight, the more barriers of those who wish not to be followed can keep me at bay. I’ve only tried to pierce through the Abyss once. That was a dire mistake. However, you have come to understand one of our great secrets. Keep this with you, carry the brands on your shoulders with pride, for you are now considered Chosen of Ioun, and myself. Welcome to the Slayer’s Take.”
Osysa then gives a nod to all of you. She now stands back up, turns around, and the tail swishing over your heads for a moment. The wings expand, and with a great leap, the creature disappears into the darkness.
At which point Vanessa turns around to the rest of you.
“Well, then. I think that went rather well, yes?” Vanessa then turns around and begins to step down the ziggurat. “Shall I lead you back to the guild hall proper?" she adds Murtin following beside her silently.
The party leaves the chamber and is brought back out to the office area.
"Tell no one else what you saw here this day or you will be dealt with," Vanessa says in a hard tone. "You are welcome to do as you wish now the ceremony is complete. I will give you a chance to catch your breath before offering your group a new contract. Now please go about your business," she adds gesturing for your party to leave.
OOC: Y'all have gp to spend and a 'week' of downtime to RP and roll to complete things. Please discuss in PMs and we'll RP and roll on the game thread.
Milo will join Harok: „ That was,... unexpected. Do you think we can just talk with her if we have a problem? And what do we do with this tatoo? Do we have to hide it? Or does it work as an official insignia of the clan? So many questions.“
Elijah will join Harok & Milo and have a meal also. " Maybe we should find and talk to Murtin. He seems to be the one to talk to instead of bothering the "Boss". I would like to see if I might find someone that could train me with thieves tools."
The party gathers outside the office and request a place where they can deposit their extra coin. They are all provided with a lockbox of sorts where only they can magically access it from a large wall that upon first looking at it looked like just simple stone. (Each of you needs to decide how much you're depositing and let me know then remove it from your coin. You will not have access until you 'remove it' from the Take vault.) Moving out into the Quadroads they found shops abound. Moving through the city sadly they learned that in the cradle of faith, they shun the arcane arts, and no shop openly sells arcanely enchanted items. They do find three armorsmiths, two fine weaponsmiths, a druid run apothecary shop, and several general goods stalls in the main market.
EACH of you will now roll for gaining knowledge and items.
Harok curious about Ioun finds no temple in the Dawn City. Asking around the Take he discovers they guard the secret temple devoting to the Knowing Mistress (need a straight intelligent roll to learn about her). He discovers temples to the following 'prime deities' Erathis in the Quadroads, Melora in the Abundant Terrace, the Raven Queen in the Duskmeadow, Kord in the Braving Grounds, and Bahamut in the stronghold built into the Heaven's Stair. This temple is where he took Midnight's remains.
Milo goes out with his companions for a day of shopping. The halfling is disappointed not to find a magic shop but he does find solace in the beauty of the temples of Melora and Bahamut. There he finds many worshipers who are curious about the monk. Returning to the Take he finds a vast library where he can research. (Roll straight intelligence roll to see what you learn about hags? and what courses? not sure what you mean).
Elijah is duly disappointed when venturing out with his party members not finding a magic shop but also when asking around the Take, a new guild member, and not yet trusted completely by the other members he does not find anyone willing to impart this underworld knowledge. The elf does however discover a jeweler that will easily parts with diamonds worth 300 gp, two in fact if he chooses to purchase them. Then one night accompanied by his companions go to the Abundance Terrance to find the harvest celebrations still in full swing! The cleric also discovers the Birth Heart, the huge tree temple of Melora, where many of his fellow clerics offer him guidance if he ever should need it.
Feldspar stores his extra coin like his companions and strikes out with them in search of spell components. He easily discovers them by another name at the apothecary shop. (Roll persuasion to see what you find; please list what for your spell by using these components you'll need to describe their use when casting). After attaining these items he finds along with his magic item seeking companions that the arcane arts are frown upon in the Dawn City. He does however find a couple of book shops, some with arcane works, and comes upon a few low-level spells. (Straight d4 to see how many spells he discovers).
OOC: Those making purchases make a list of exactly what you wish to purchase and then a persuasion roll for essentially haggling for said item to affect the prices. If you want to forgo the haggling roll you'll pay list price plus a fee for how exotic/rare the item might be. To reiterate there is NO magic shop in Vasselheim, arcane magic is frowned upon. There might be a 'back alley' arcane trade but we'll have to discuss RPing that one day with the whole party.
"We can. I've got some good burning a hole in my pocket right now. Maybe we see what we find in the city and take that into account? There are good shops and smiths around"
Elijah did find regular potions of healing at the apothecary shop but nothing else stronger. He would also know from having received one from the Take that they have their own alchemist in residence. They provide some potions but not all the time. It depends on the seriousness of the quarry but since you are a healer with a set group it might be less for your party.
Milo tries to research curses and how to remove them at the small Slayer's Take library but there's far too many comings and goings of others for the monk to focus. He easily becomes distracted by the others and abandons his studies to peruse his new friends.
After storing a large amount of gold ( 3000+ jewels and gems) at the Guild. After a bit over an hour of reading in the library he gives up in frustration and looks for his new comrades, wich he finds at the dinning hall over dinner.
“Ah, Feldspar, Harok, good to see you. You know, i was just in the library and i couldn‘t stop thinking about the how hard it is to find magical supplies here in the city. I had several ideas, first i wanted to give this to Feldspar and Elijah:“ and he hands both a small pouch of 150 gold each. „ With the limited supplies here in the city, i assume the prices for your materials are inflated. And to be honest, i don‘t need to buy weapons, materials or armor for myself, so there is not much i can spend it on. Another thing is, this robe we recovered, this robe of useful items, i think it would be perfect for me. As you may have noticed, i am not the strongest, but this robe would allow me to carry plenty of equipment without wearing me out. What do you think?“
OOC: Milo needs to PM me an exact amount in 'storage' and put the rest on his character sheet!
Medb's mention of Harok's valor during the hunt has reached far and wide throughout the guild. Upon hus search for answers and knowledge the fighter is approached with access to Osysa's direct council.

Feldspargraciously accepts the gold. "Well, thank you. Thank you very much. I... I don't know what to say. Except that I will find a way to repay the favor. And I, for one, have no objection to your wearing the robe. What say you, Elijah?"
Randall can feel the buzzing deep inside him, Today is the day! Today is finally the day I will take my trials and join the ranks of the slayers take. I have dreamed of this so long I thought it would never come true and now I am even more confident I will pass the trials especially with the help of my fierce new friend Oubliette. Speaking of which I wonder if she is awake yet, I better get myself down stairs.
With that Randall gathers his belongings and heads downstairs and grabs a table and signals for some food and rink to be brought over. While he waits he will attempt to listen in on any conversations that are going on around his table. Hoping he hears a good one so he can add it to the growing list of stories he already has.

Elijah nod at Feldspar and say: " I too have no objection. In my mind the robe is yours Milo. Thank you for your donation it is much appreciated and I pray to Melora we wont have to use it and I am able to return it to you."
Milo Sees a bard sitting down at the next table. He gets up and approaches Randell: „Hallo Sir, we are new initiates here in the guild, is it ok if we may ask you a few questions?“
Randall glances at Milo and looks him up and down, "Depending on your question I will answer it." As Randall pushes a chair out from the table and signals for some more food and wine to be delivered. "Wait a minutes did you say new initiates? By all means ask your question and I will answer to the best of my ability. My friend and I plan on going to take our trial later on today, well whenever she finally comes down. At least I assume she is still sleeping, maybe she woke earlier than I did and already left. No matter I am sure it will all work out in the end. Sorry, excuse my rambling, you said you had a question?"
„Oh, my apologies, i assumed you were already a member of the guild and wanted to ask for some hints and tips. But nice to meet you anyway. Those are Elijah, Feldspar and Harok. My name is Milo. We only joined within the last few days.“
