Harok notices plenty of wildlife in the trees around the road with various bird songs as well. Most apparent to him however is not far in the tree line a faun, or satyr to most folk, with a pack on his back and walking stick in hand. Harok notices the satyr is observing the road as if it's unsure to join the predominately human travelers going to and from the Dawn City. The Satyr doesn't move to the road he only observes it as the party passes its position in the tree line.
"Yes, ah bow skill I think will be essential to this task," Medb replies to Milo. "I am quiet skill with my bow," she adds with a smile touching her own longbow across her back with an intricately detailed quiver of arrows all fletched with various colored feathers.
As the party moves along the road the mule and cart is slowing the party down as the incline moving farther from the city towards the mountain gets steeper with each passing hour more so than on horseback. The party soon finds a fork in the road at about late afternoon. One road goes northwest towards the mountain and the other declining northeast towards the Ozmit Sea.

Harok call out to the observed. "Good sir. We're hunting chimera. Have you any word?" Harok doesn't break his mount's stride and will ignore anything except friendly conversation or attack.
Survival 9 any hint on a path to take, assuming the satyr didn't help?
Feldsparwill be in the middle on the left side column.
"Bows?" he asks. "I've got a crossbow, and I'm not too bad a shot, I think. I prefer my magic, though. My teachers will be... sorry, I'm still working things out... I mean, my teachers were very impressed with my skill at spells."
He turns to Saske (the only person who shook his hand earlier), and says, "I'm quite excited by all this, actually. I've never been on a monster hunt before. How about you?"
Feldsparhears Harok calling to someone. "Eh, who's there, good Harok?"
"There" Harok quietly says while slightly pointing. "In the woods. I don't think he is watching us, well he sees us. Maybe he knows of the beast, still not likely a threat let him hide or run if he chooses. "
As Harok points to the place he thought he saw the satyr it's disappeared. There's nothing but sun dabbled woodland as the wind picks up from the mountain blowing cold air through the trees. Harok knows to stick to the road that gets steeper if they are headed to a mountain up the Glasswalk road.
"What was watching us," Medb asks looking around the party slightly alarmed. She continues before waiting for an answer. "It's a couple more hours of daylight before we need to make camp or we could press on into the mountain after sunset then camp higher up. That cart isn't the fastest form of travel and it won't be able to come with us, the horses either where the Chimera was last spotted," Medb explains next then looking to Harok to answer her question.
"A satyr. Had a bag. I think he was watching us but as soon as I spoke I lost him." Harok pats his rides neck. "Perhaps we can start looking for a good place to hobble these before pressing on?"
OOC: The party has only been traveling for only five hours since midmorning. You all know that the 'quarry contract' is completed once the beast is slain and the items collected. It will take a full day's travel to get to the base of Heaven's Stair on the northwest side of the city. The base of the mountain is within the Vesper Timberlands and your party is now at the fork where the Glasswalk road separates from the western road to Vasselheim and the eastern road to the Ozmit Sea. Along the base of the mountain, in caves, is where the beast was last spotted. There's no way to know if the beast is still there! The party, with the cart traveling, is not going to make it to the base of the mountain by nightfall. They will have to travel through mid-evening to make it to the base of the mountain and then set up camp in the dark.
"Ah...that's curious," Medb says with a soft smile at Harok.
„I don‘t mind traveling either, but you do know this forrest better then me. In the Lotusden Forrest it is dangerous to travel during the day and deadly in the night, but i got the feeling this forrest here is much more peacefully and pacified. Are there any dangers this close to the city we should be aware of?“
"The forest are not safe leaving the road now and worse so at night. I recommend we camp and well as set up watch schedules," Medb explains her expression serious looking around them again.
She then concentrates on a fixed point and suddenly a sprite appears on her shoulder from the ether.
"Henwyn can you scout ahead and see if there's any safe places ahead to camp," Medb says in Sylvan (if anyone speaks it) before the sprite darts off ahead of the party down the road disappearing from view. "I say a few more hours in the light then camp at dusk," the ranger offers her advice.

"I think a fire is a necessary risk," Medb replies as a cold wind whips through the party.
Henwyn reappears a short time later communicating their findings before Medb relays it to the group.
"The road narrows about five miles ahead and travelers are light on the ground. We should make it to a good spot my nightfall if we keep moving at a steady pace," the ranger explains as her sprite familiar pops out of sight again.
As the party travels further along the Glasswalk the weather notably changing colder with each passing hour. By nightfall the party is still a few hours short of the mountain's base and the sunset is nearly blotted out by the thick canopy of the forest now all around them. By the eight hour of travel they've noticed the road has even become more wild and narrow. At sounds of the approaching chorus of night creatures, Medb pulls off the road into the underbrush.
OOC: This is where Valor's cart cannot make this journey into the forest campsite. Ideas for guarding or hiding the mountain road is only getting harder to pass from here with the horses needing to be left at the base and the party continuing on foot!
Medb leads most of the party to a campsite. It's in a small clearing by a fallen tree as big as the stone pillars outside the temple of Erathis! Henwyn tbe sprite has scouted out the perfect spot that is relatively defensible for the night of rest ahead.
"Who'd like to set up camp and who'd like to fetch fire wood," Medb asks unpacking her gray horse and selecting a grassy place to hobble it for the night. "I'll hunt us some dinner but I'll take anyone who can be quiet and healthful," she adds.
OOC: Survival checks for tents/fire set up and investigation for fire wood! Also any other checks you would like to make!!

Valor
Valor will unpack his cart and unhitch Ajak from it. "Alight, now listen to me." he says as he lowers his head to eye level with the mule. "I got to go on ahead where you can't go cause it's too dangerous for you. them Chimera's eat mules so I don't want you to get ate up. I'm letting you loose to run free. If'n you see or hear anything that sounds too scary you run on home, or the closest farm you can find. Eat, run free and be safe buddy, I'll find ya." he pats the mules head affectionately.
Valor helps set up camp the best he can, though he may get tangled a bit of the tent.
"It might be best if I try and find some firewood." he says to the group, still fumbling with a tent line.

"Right.' he states "I'm all for going on a bit."
