"Isn't the mayor promising you fortunes anyways? Doesn't that seem a little, I don't know... harsh to charge him like that?"
(OOC: Halec seems very grumpy today)
He turns to Chazrael "I have a leftover set of arrows in my bag, made one set too many. You can have 'em for a gold piece"
OOC: Halec has had a crazy day, from the theft to the event he has counted on for all of his life going awry, to the bizarre exchanges that followed. He's trying to keep it together.
"The valley sinking into a ravine is 'harsh,' friend," Halec says. "So far we are the only ones stepping up to do anything about it. Your army is deployed elsewhere. Adventurers are your only hope, and that would be us. If it makes you feel better, take it out of the reward money if we're successful. Charge double. I don't really care about the money, I care about saving this valley, and given that we are your only hope I expect the people of your city and its government to do everything in your power to help us make that happen. That means we need every edge we can get. Hells, consider it a loan. I'll return it and you can sell it on your store shelves, if there is a city to return to after all of this."

“Oh. Well this is also very unexpected. Earlier you robbing me and then being back on the streets seemed like my biggest problem. Funny how the destruction of a relic stabilizing a region and threatening to have an entire city swallowed by a ravine helps put everything in perspective,” Halec says. “So, welcome aboard, Anthony.”
Halec crosses his arms and waits for the blacksmith to reply. “Well? Are you really going to charge us, under these circumstances? I suppose you might need the money to relocate, since this city may well be a sinkhole soon, if we fail at this task.”

"Such a devoted person. I'll tell you what, if you give me your battered up armor, I can repurpose it, and I'll remove the charge on that piece" He gives a set of twenty arrows to Chazrael, and begins working on Anthony's items.

"Re purpose my scale mail into half plate? If you can do that, by all means, have at it." Halec will hand it over and observe the man's magic tools in action.
Anthony impatiently waits for his items and the others weapons. As he waits, He cradles his baby yeti, Abomination in his arms, and feeds it. He speaks softly to it, "It's Ok, I'll protect you, we'll all be OK.
OOC: Dear DM, are there any enchanters who can make the ring capable of making the player invisibility.
(There could be one... you can do it if you have 500,000 gold pieces)
The blacksmith notices the baby yeti in Anthony's arm, looking at it with a face of awe "Aww... *ahem* I mean, he's a cuti- cute little guy... agh! What's his name? Here is your... warhammer and uh... ring?"
He takes the scale mail and starts looking through his bag "Alright, scale mail, huh? Where is that tool... blue one, blue one, blue one, blue one AHA!" He pulls out a different-looking hammer with a blue glow on it. With a single bang of the hammer, the scale mail is engulfed in blue light, once the light fades, the chestplate has become that of a Half Plate. "Here you are, one half plate, and here's the helmet" he gives you the new chestplate and the helmet he made as demonstration.
Halec looks dumbfounded, then grins like an excited child. “Sir, if I wasn’t concerned about the end of every man, woman and child in Snakeskin Valley, I might beg to apprentice under you. As a blacksmith myself, I must admit, you are a miracle worker.”
Halec looks to the others. “The man is the genuine article. Let him know if you need anything else, his work is truly outstanding. After this I plan to look up this witch and see if she can point us in the right direction.”
Halec dons the half plate armor, his entire mood shifted for the better. “Maybe today doesn’t make sense. But maybe it can get better. Got to keep up the old optimism, that’s what Helen always says... Helen! Forgive me, I have to get Helen! Then we can see the witch.”
Halec will make his next stop collecting his mule, prior to seeking out the witch, after they leave the blacksmith’s shop.
OOC: Short version, a few of us have met, the festival took place and the local relic, the Ruby Snowflake, an item that brings stability to the region was hit by a strange light from an unknown source. It’s pieces shattered and flew off. The region’s military is out on a foreign campaign of some kind, so the mayor reached out to those of us present at the event, adventurers, to try to recover the pieces.
Only a few of us have been properly introduced and there has been some limited interactions. Halec, my human fighter/guild artisan met Rosemary the tiefling and Chazrael the halfling, who it seems are volunteering to help, and Anthony the dwarf, who earlier robbed Halec but has now professed to giving up thievery and is apparently joining up as well.
Halec does not know the name of the Yuan Ti PC as of yet. We were told if the pieces of the snowflake aren’t recovered within two weeks the city and surrounding region may collapse into a ravine. We stopped by the town blacksmith who has magical tools to produce gear incredibly quickly to obtain arms and armor, Halec went to retrieve his mule, and he intended to consult with a local witch, hoping she can use divination to locate the shards of the relic.
Halec briefly investigated the source of the blast that hit the relic, and found a set of foot prints in an alleyway, but they went nowhere, as if the figure teleported or flew away.
We currently know nothing of the motive of the attack or how/where the shards flew off to, only that they need to be recovered or the region will suffer a catastrophe.
Sitting on one of the slanted roof is a brown haired boy, about 20 years of age. Bandages warped around his hands. A bracer seems to be turning around his right hand, not made of leather or any substance, but the faint outline traced by red arcane energy. ( Unless this is my arcane focus, It will be for decoration. ) A staff stands next to him. He leaps off the roof in front of the party, and with a mischievous grin announces " Pardon, good sirs, but I heard you are looking for Igna."
Anthony him off sharply. "We're searching for Lissia, undeath is not something one wants to mess with, we must prevent this from taking place. After all it's a messy business, it is." In a barely audible mumble he adds, "and after today's events, I need a drink, or 3." fully audible again, he finishes "I don't suppose you could point her out to me, could you?"
Chazrael nods and hands him a gold piece. "You have yourself a deal."
