It was not a trap, apparently the door does that when attacked.

When you say it is "not a trap, the door does that when attacked," would Halec be inferring that he has ruled out this being a mechanical trap, therefore it is some magical property of the cursed mansion itself? A living door? Some other entity dwelling in the door?
"Err, I don't see any mechanism," Halec says after a thorough examination. "I'm a bit stumped, Anthony. The door just... does that, apparently."

(Door 1) you enter door 1into a square room, it is a fire room with a red and white square wool rug, three chairs, that look very rotten and moldy sit on the opposite side of your party. a fireplace completely covered in cobwebs lays soundly next to you. On the opposite side of you is another wooden door, leading into the next room, next to you is a staircase leading up into the darkness, being in this room makes it feel like nighttime, even though it is late morning.
Halec aims his bullseye lantern into the sinister room. "That staircase certainly doesn't look inviting, but, stiff upper lip, men. The entire region is depending on us." He heads towards the staircase that leads up into darkness.

i follow halec to the staircase if I can't find anything.
While walking on the staircase, you fall right through, and land inside the staircase. You hear the hyena-like laughter again as the staircase fades away, as well as the opening it leads to. Suddenly, a bright blue hue comes from one of the chairs, sitting in it is the ghost of a woman in her thirties. Her entire body has a blue hue, but she wears fine clothes, specifically a short dress. Her hair is long, and floats in the air as if gravity reversed. She does not notice you, as she is looking out the window.
Seeing the dwarf dismantling the room, Halec says, "Call out if you happen to find a shard of the Ruby Snowflake," and continues, slowly, towards the staircase.

He slowly steps back, places the lantern carefully on the floor where its light aims at the woman, and says, "Madame ghost, can you hear me? Can you understand me?"
She looks towards Halec and says weakly "Help... me... be... free." she sees to Anthony destroying the furniture, snaps her fingers, and it causes Anthony to freeze in place (you can only move your eyes and mouth). When speaking, she switches her tone from scared and weak, to more contempt "This was once my house you know, so don't go destroying it"
As Anthony does not seem in dire peril, Halec ignores his plight. "Madame, how can we help free you? We mean no harm entering your home, and would not have done so if the cause were not of great import. How can I help you?"
She looks at Halec with a look of plea "A millennium ago, our once beautiful mansion became a haunted one by some evil poltergeist's curse, and it turned us into ghosts. While in my undeath, I was trying to find a way to undo the curse, and I came across this book." She takes out a leather cover book with a gold skull on it, she starts flipping through its yellow pages "It... said...heeerrrrrreeee... that if you can rid the source of the curse, as well as unite the owners of the residence, you can lift the curse of the area." She closes the book and stows it away. "Adventurers, hear me out, if you can find my husband and my three children, we can lift the curse for you, and this mansion could be used in your favor" she takes out an old scroll
Halec nods, taking in the woman's words, at some point putting out his pen and parchment and actually taking written notes. "Err, yes, sounds like quite a task, m'lady, but a noble one. Why, perhaps you remember it from your own time in life - the Ruby Snowflake?"

"Again, my husband is held hostage upstairs, my children should be here on the second floor, though little Kayla is hard to predict, so it may be hard to say where she could be."

Your hit does not even scratch the wall, after hitting it, you hear a high-pitched laugh, the same hyena-like cackle Halec heard behind the door.
The door's actions are part of the manor's haunted illusions.
Halec, rather than striking a door, checks to see if it is unlocked and will simply open. He does so gingerly and carefully, ready to draw his hand back at any sign of injurious mechanism.
Which door?
OOC: The leftmost of the 3 doors they are facing.
