Jahren catches up with Halec once again as they both go through the market. "Hey Halec, who's your friend? Greetings, I'm Jahren." Jahren is a very cheerful looking half elf with orangey-red hair and a small beard. He is adorned with studded leather armor and a variety of traveling or adventuring gear, including two stringed musical instruments on his back.
"We just met, but this dwarf gentleman is an adventurer as well," Halec says to Jharen. "To the first point, the Ruby Snowflake was a large red crystal that evidently stabilized this region somehow. It was destroyed a few days ago, and unless the shards are collected and the relic restored, this entire region will collapse into a ravine, I'm afraid. As to the reward, the mayor of this city promised a 'large fortune,' although he left the details somewhat ambiguous beyond that I'm afraid. Your name, sir?"
"I'm Halec Abadir, and my friend here is Jharen, as he noted," Halec says. "There's also Ophiwalen, a lad from a monastery who also has some magical ability. We would be happy to have you join the cause."
OOC: I see we leveled to 7 at some point? I will adjust to level 7, I did not realize we had leveled.
(OOC Yup, the DM mentioned in in a post or PM a day or two ago. I've got some good level 4 spells ready to go now, although only one per day. Greater Invis. should give one of you martial types a nice boost in combat (Advantage on all attacks, Disadvantage to hit you) if anyone is interested when the time is right!)
"Glad to meet you, Harbek! You see Halec, there is much reason for hope. The next heroes of the realm are often waiting just around the corner. Perhaps we can even find another here. Shall we seek out this board you spoke of? It seems very odd that it gives hints as to where the shards of the Ruby Snowflake have gone." He leans in to whisper to Halec and Harbek "in fact, I wouldn't mind setting a watch on the board to see who is updating it, or if no one is at all and even stranger powers are afoot."
"I have been quite curious how shard locations do seem to coincide with postings to the bounty board, almost without fail," Halec says. "Whether we will discern the origins of this mystery or not, I agree, that should likely be our next step. Harbek, if you're onboard for this quest - and a worthy one it is indeed - than by all means, come with us. I'll lead the way."
Halec heads to the Adventurer's Chateau, leading his fellow adventurers.
When you arrive at the Adventurer's Cheâtau, there are two people inspecting the board; One is a human carrying two katanas, the other being a fallen aasimar. (Welcome, @QueersBeyond and @TrundleDGrate) On the board, just like the last time, Neil's quest is gone, and two more new quests have appeared on the board (This will take a few minutes to post all of them up, so please be patient):
The Ice dragons of Frostbite Mountain have gone hostile, and are wrecking havoc on the nearby village. I'm looking for travelers to help me deal with the problem, as soon as possible.
I'm hosting a battle tournament for the bravest of adventure group at the Temple of Trickery, but this is no ordinary battle arena, I will have magical and special conditions to twist your mind, if you survive my games, I will reward you with the grand prize below.

OOC: Halec could make good use of this during tough fights. He typically uses the -5 to hit +10 damage feature of Sharpshooter liberally, having advantage on the attack rolls would significantly increase accuracy and mitigate the penalty to hit largely. I typically rely on Battle Master superiority dice for that, unless they run out.
More and more of our lizardfolk people are going missing, and I plan to put a stop to that! I was able to locate where they are being taken at some old ruins, but it seems too risky to go alone. I'll offer anyone who helps something one of a kind.
I'm the curator of the Malison History Museum, but ever since we put an oddly shaped ruby on display, monsters began to move in. Someone please get rid of them for me, the relics of our kingdom is at stake!
“I do admire your bravery, Harbek, but given the time table on the shard quest, if we don’t restore the Ruby Snowflake in short order everyone will be doomed, regardless. We need to prioritize the bounties which have the highest chance of leading us to shard pieces,” Halec says. “I tried to seek out a divination expert to point us directly to the relic fragments, but the witch, Igna, was only able to generate a map based on her recollection of the directions the shards flew off in. Now the reward for the tournament could be a shard piece, and the museum is almost assuredly referring to a piece of the Ruby Snowflake, here. Either of those seem like the surest bets.”
Halec gives a polite nod to the Asimar and the Human with Katanas, “Good day, fellow adventurers. We seem to have found our ranks thinned as of late, our dwarf pugilist and halfling ranger have disappeared, just as our yuan ti and tiefling comrades did before. I assume you may have heard tell that this region’s notable relic, the Ruby Snowflake, was shattered. We are seeking competent mercenaries to join us in finding the shards needed to repair it.”
Halec will also consult the map Igna helped to craft, and cross reference the projected shard travel path with the locations of these bounties to see which ones might line up.
Nahu presents a very out together image. From their black and red robes covered in darkened half-plate armor, to their long white hair that all seems to fall perfectly in place. Their eyes tell a different story. Looking at Nahu's eye sends a chill down your spine, there is a madness lurking behind them. Bowing to Halec, Nahu says, "I have indeed heard of it. I am here seeking to research it. My name is Nahu, a scholar from the north." As they offer out their hand, a shudder passes through their body and Nahu shakes their head, covering their ears as though blocking out a sound. "I'm sorry, where were we?"
"Greetings Nahu, I am Jahren" says the friendly half elf. "It seems you share a similar interest to these fine heroes. I am here to witness and record their deeds in saving Firefell, not being much of a fighter myself."
"Halec, how do the potential locations of these quests match up with your map?"
Halec is fairly unremarkable for a locale frequented by adventurers. He is a human male in his late 20s or early 30s by the looks of him, with wavy brown hair and a well kept handlebar mustache, wearing half plate armor, a pair of scimitars at his sides, and a well crafted hand crossbow tied to his belt with a cord of string as if to avoid having it stolen or lost. He has 4 cases of crossbow bolts affixed to his person, and wears a backpack. The rest of his gear is within the saddlebags of a mule he leads. He now wears a ring on his right hand. For those detecting magic, the ring and the hand crossbow are the only items of his that appear to have any magical aura.
"Ah, a researcher, it would be wonderful to have another learned mind along, master Nahu. Jharen here is also something of a scholar, and I believe Ophiwalen has occasion for such pursuits as well. I'm no student of the arcane or the workings of divinity, just a simple engineer and fighting man, but given that strange forces are at work, it's good to have some scholarly expertise," Halec says. "Welcome aboard."

Harbek looks at the board and says "dragons, foul creatures, we should help those villagers"
