Serwa waits until the child leaves, then says, "Do you want to go talk to some adults at the manor first? Or just head straight to that tunnel? I think we should speak to the grown ups first, personally."
OOC: Disregard the above comment, I misremembered the purpose of the manor visit.
"Let's head to that tunnel, maybe it will give us a better way into the manor, and surprise these gangsters,"Serwa says. "Whoever has the keenest eyes for traps and ambushes, take the lead."
"Yep, better the tunnel than tryin' to bust down the front door. I think Xianon has the keenest eyes, though I can help as well. Lets go!" Tomora says anxious to be going. She will help Xianon watch for any traps as they approach the tunnel.
The elf takes point, now more seriously considering that comment about wearing black. He leads the group straight as an arrow, through the fields (trying to step between the rows of freshly planted crops) to where the child was pointing, scanning that part of the hill for fallen trees. He also keeps a sharp eye out for any lookouts, hoping they'd be dumb enough to wear those red cloaks.
Moving towards the tunnel, you see no signs of any traps or Redbrands. Eventually, you find the door the boy was talking about, leading into the hill Tresendar Manor is resting on. Opening the door, you see a tunnel full of complete darkness, and even with your darkvision you cannot make out the end of the tunnel.
"Well, perhaps we will get the drop on them after all...that is if they don't get the drop on us first..." Tomora says in a hushed voice as she gazes into the darkness. "Shall we go? Unless y'all think we should do some scouting first."
“This is the scouting I think,” Serwa says quietly. “Thanks for the light, Aster. People with good eyes and quiet feet, keep scouting, but let’s not split up too much. We could run into a group of them at any time, and if we do taking them down quickly is our best way to keep the element of surprise.”
"Sounds good, how about Xianon and I sneak ahead a little ways and y'all come behind." Tomora says. As Aster is giving guidance to Xianon, Tomora's form becomes misty and rapidly swirls into a new shape, materializing as a Giant Wolf Spider. Eight inky black eyes gaze at the party momentarily before the giant spider begins skittering down the dark passage silently. She climbs along the wall mostly, trying to avoid any traps on the floor. Stealth: 14. Perception (if needed): 12
The elf is a little uncomfortable in a space where even darkvision isn't a help. He nods to Aster. "Thanks," he says sincerely.
His eyes widen as he watches Tomora transform into an enormous spider. It's with some trepidation that he turns to scout ahead down the tunnel. "I'd have preferred a child," he mutters, only half to himself.
"Don't listen Tomora, you're a fantastic spider, the bigger the better," Serwa says, becoming silent herself and doing her best to follow, quietly, at a good distance, so as not to compromise their efforts at stealth.

(Sorry if I wasn’t clear, darkvision does help but the tunnel was too long for you to see the end with 60 ft. Darkvision)
Moving down the tunnel, your 2 scouts in the lead, you eventually near the end of the tunnel. By your estimations, it was over 100 feet long. At the end of a tunnel, you see a large natural cavern. A cold breeze fills it, blowing past you, and carrying with it the scent of decaying flesh. A crevasse divides the cavern and is flanked by two rough stone columns that support the twenty foot high ceiling. Two arched wooden bridges span the chasm. Xianon, as you’re approaching the end of the tunnel, you see a large looming figure move behind one of the pillars, about 40 feet ahead of you. It seemed semi-humanoid, but deformed, with large, rocky spikes protruding from its back. The most defining feature you saw, however, was its large, singular, yellow-green eye. Everyone, give me a Deception roll. 22

Xianon Lathalas
Xianon, being the deceptive type of monk (?), rolls 20.
Having seen the eye, the elf figures that the eye has seen him - especially given that the creature subsequently hid itself. Xianon approaches a few more feet. If he's close enough to the entrance of the cavern, he'll move along the wall to see if he can change the angle enough to see the creature again.
OOC: I don't know if Serwa is even aware of the Cyclops - or whatever it might be - as she is hanging a ways back to try to preserve the scouts' stealth.

Serwa nods, and takes up a position behind the keen-eyed scouts, as they head for where the child identified the tunnel entrance.

OOC: Deception, or Perception, to confirm?
(Yes, deception)
Serwa’s Deception: 7
Tomora's Deception: 2. Tomora will try to sneak up the cavern wall a little ways (~10') to get some elevation.
OOC: I'm ok with DM rolling for roll calls if it's more convenient and/or speeds things up.
