The elf isn't quite sure what to make of the fact that this creature is trying to hide behind him. His eyes widen as he sees Serwa rear back to throw her javeling; he raises his arms, hopefully in time to wave her off. "Hold up!" His eyes flicker to the bridge; will the javelin be low enough to miss the bridge but high enough to hit him - err, the creature?

OOC: I think the DM determined the original melee attacks were being used, so she came at an angle and thrust past him with her polearm twice, likely with just the one hit for 15 damage, and then backed up a bit.
As Serwa closes in, the creature's eye dilates fully, turning black. (Serwa - please make a Constitution saving throw, DC 12. On failed save: take 17 necrotic damage as you feel you flesh beginning to rot).

Con Save: 12
Any effect on a success, or none?
No effect on Success - Good save that would have been painful :)
OOC: Did the slash and accompanying flash of radiance appear to hurt the creature, or did it seem to shrug off or resist the damage? Assuming the 20 connected?

Xianon Lathalas
Seeing that hostilities continue, the monk reluctantly proceeds to join the assault. He pivots on his left foot, bringing his right hand around in an open-palmed thrust, fingers extended, hoping to find the creature's eye. He follows up with a left forward kick.

Shrugging off the necrotic energy, Serwa charges forward and ramming her halberd, ablaze with divine energy, into the creatures chest. It lets out a horrid screech, that reverberates around the cavern piercing both ear and mind. Xianon's strike smashes it's eye silencing its screech, as it stagger back.
Tomora, more than willing to add to the creatures woes, hurls the flames in her hand down at it (Produce Flame: 18. damage: 8). The flames engulf it and the wounded creature drops to the ground smoldering - your ears still ringing from its horrid screech.
Tomora sighs and spits on the ground, "Wretched thing!!"
Serwa approaches the corpse, still wary, and gives it a few additional pokes to ensure it is dead. "The good ones die too easily, and the bad ones have a nasty habit of faking it, too often." Once she is satisfied it is dead, she flicks the gore from the blade of her halberd. "If you're right, Aster, the Redbrands have made some nasty friends. If there are more things like that, we could have a problem. I'm good to keep going, but if anyone needs to leave and rest, let me know. These aren't the kind of things we want to be at less than full strength to deal with."
Tomora rubs her shoulder "I'm pretty sore, but I can keep on well enough...are you still fit, Xianon?" She calls softly down to the elf in the fissure. With an uneasy glance around, she asks "Do you think anyone heard that thing?"
Serwa - You also notice the chest hidden amid the rubble at your feet.
"We weren't quiet," Serwa says. "But that wasn't an option. If someone comes to investigate then that saves us the trouble of going to find them."
Serwa points with the tip of her polearm. "Chest there." She seemsmostly indifferent, as per the norm, and assumes someone else noticed it, but points it out none the less, in the event she happened to be the only one to notice it. "If someone with more patience than me wants to check for traps, if it's locked and we don't have a locksmith, I can try to break it out. Really up to you all."
The elf looks up at Tomora and gives her a nods. "The creature never got me," he assures her. He looks down at the corpse and sighs. "I'm concerned that anyone close might have experienced that mental scream." He shrugs. "I suppose we'll find out." He back at Serwa. "Anything interesting?"
The chest opens without any resistance and contains a pile of coins (160sp, 120gp), five malachite gems (15gp each), two potions of healing, and a scroll of augury. There is also longsword in a silver-chased scabbard. The sword is inscribed with the name "Talon," and its hilt is worked in the shape of a bird of prey with outspread wings.
“Pile of coin and gems, potion, scroll, and a fancy looking long sword,” Serwa answers. “We can take this stuff and when we have idle time someone can divide this up, and figure out what the potion and scroll do, and if the sword is special, or just some noble’s over ornamented gift for turning 16.”
OOC: Ok, no complaints here - it was more damaging, also. :)

(Yes we're using Serwa's original attack with the halberd )

„But a good talker it was. Knew exactly what i did not want to hear. But it sounded like it was allied with the redbrand.“

The Chest does not appear to be locked.
Serwa ponders it for a moment, shrugs, then opens the chest. "I don't think this is what will kill me. That would also be pretty embarrassing."

OOC: If I did the math right that will split to 37 Gold, 7 silver and 5 copper per person after the 4 way split.
Let me know if that sounds correct, DM, and we can update our sheets.
I assume we will need a short rest to better examine the long sword to see if it’s “special.”

(I think it's 52.75 gp each. {120 + 16 + 75(gems) = 211} { 211 / 4 = 52.75}. My math could be off, too, though.)
(Anyone can do a history check on the sword now if they would like, Aster would get advantage on the check.)
(Anyone who has Augury on their class list can use the scroll. I think Tomora will next level - shes going to multiclass one level as a Cleric)
OOC: Your math seems right, I inputted the numbers incorrectly. Updating Serwa’s sheet.
