The skeleton doesn't have the reaction time to dodge the book and gets its head knocked clean off. The bones rattle to the ground, along with the scraps of armor it wore. Silence descends on the courtyard.
I quickly retrieve my dart, placing it back in its pouch before returning to the Maidens. As i return I admire one of the trees and attempt to perceive what type of tree it is. 13
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ignoring the comment made from the goliath, still feeling the pain from him laughing from me tripping. I move to the exit of the courtyard and look through to see what's there. (Perception = 18)
The Tabaxi rolls her eyes at Durk, then leads the way to the other side of the courtyard. Having reached the main road, it's quiet and empty, as all the fighting and searching has gone to the upper parts of the city surrounding the church. Fires are rampant over the stores and houses, and everything has been trashed and destroyed along the way. The road is about half a mile long, and a few figures can be spotted at the end of the road.
I turn to the rest of the party except the Maidens and ask who they are exactly, since no introductions had been made in the chaos. Then as they answer fall to the back once again as we assume our original formation.
"My name is Eglig, I am a Goliath monk" I explain how my life has been one turn after another and I finally came to this point. "Now here I am with this group of misfits who I may not particularly like right now. BUT, we will get along eventually. Mark my words brothers"
I pull a book out of my pack (if this doesn't cost an action)I cast catapult on the book to the skeleton.
d20?= 4
damage= 13 Bludgeoning (Dex Dc 13)
(FYI, if something requires a creature to make a saving throw, you don't need to roll a d20 for it.)
Skelly dex save: 9

I move over to collect my book and place it back into my pack, While over there I check the skeleton for anything.
"Good shot!" I said to the dragonborn laughing at what was left of the skeleton
On the skeleton, you find a bag, containing 20 gold. The maidens look a little apprehensive, and scan the courtyard. "Are they all gone?"
The tree is a birch.
"the path is clear my maidens, we can now travel through"
says proudly

Turns to face the group
"my name is Durkannon, a Tiefling Bard. at your service"
bows to the group
"My name is Eglig, I am a Goliath monk" I explain how my life has been one turn after another and I finally came to this point. "Now here I am with this group of misfits who I may not particularly like right now. BUT, we will get along eventually. Mark my words brothers"
"My name's Nemmonis Veldmar, new wizard to clan Nemmonis. Hopefully good enough for this quest we've been thrown upon."
The maidens look around at you all, waiting at the exit of the courtyard.
asks the maidens what their names are
"Shall we exit brothers?" I ask the group
The maidens look at the figures then back to Durk. "We can make introductions later. We need to focus on getting out of here right now."
"I say we do, this man-made place is making me uncomfortable, I feel the breath of the wild outside and it calls to me"
I place my focus away and follow behind the maidens in the original formation, more focused on not falling this time
