"Well considering I cant deny your credibility i suppose you can join our group, I suggest you fall in with the Monk, your statures should be enough to perturb some peaceful animals from crossing our path and brightening my day." I briskly join the back of the formation, attempting to make distance from the Half-orc.
The Tabaxi girl grins at this and says a little smugly. "It turns out heavy metal armor isn't good for swimming. We... may or may not have encouraged them to take a dip. The river over that hill is pretty deep, you know." She points west, and you can all hear a soft sound of rushing water.
She nods at you and smiles a little. "Thank you , druid. We may not be strong, like some others, but we are prepared to do what is necessary to survive, and are quick on our feet."
The maidens nod and fall into the previous formation, ready to go. "There is a shrine to the Progenitor there. We can find safe harbor, and can begin to look for our missing sisters."
So you all start walking to Maplewood, About halfway through the night, you're all very tired, and about 3/4th's of the way there. The moon is waning, with nothing more than a slight sliver, and visibility is low. Stars are spread and scattered all over the astral dome of the sky, with the soothing sounds of a slight breeze on the pleasantly cool air.
"The young one is almost dead on her feet, and rest would do us all good. We're far enough away from Eklevia that we should be safe, and while the moon shines we have slight powers. Their strength depends on the strength of the moon, so we would not be very well equipped if we were ambushed, but we would be able to at least defend ourselves for a little while." They all shuffle tiredly, the human holding onto the hem of the Tabaxi's gown. They all look very tired.

"i agree this half-orc can prove useful"
counts the maidens and notices there is 5 maidens
"we are all ready to depart to safety yes?"
(That was a typo on my part. Whoopsie. all 5 are there)
I fall into ranks alongside the monk, Keeping my wits about me and start to survey the land in my head and notice nothing unusual .
Looks around and asks the maidens "There where people that chased you, do you know where they've gone?"
The Tabaxi girl grins at this and says a little smugly. "It turns out heavy metal armor isn't good for swimming. We... may or may not have encouraged them to take a dip. The river over that hill is pretty deep, you know." She points west, and you can all hear a soft sound of rushing water.
"Nature is something too raw to miss-read, she shall not forgive a mistake, I like your smarts Tabaxi"
She nods at you and smiles a little. "Thank you , druid. We may not be strong, like some others, but we are prepared to do what is necessary to survive, and are quick on our feet."
"Well the City of Maplewood is probably the best place to head from here, don't want to get caught by those things from Eklevia"
The maidens nod and fall into the previous formation, ready to go. "There is a shrine to the Progenitor there. We can find safe harbor, and can begin to look for our missing sisters."
I step forward, to add to the discussion "Might that be the cause of the Maidens panic?" I ask unaware of what has occured
"For background Half-orc the city is taken, but we cannot linger in such a dangerous place, let us move and be done with this place of ruin"
As if on cue, more purple explosions come from various places in the city, and several statues crumble.
"let's get to the safety of the shrine and city, we can rest there"
says from the middle as i keep an eye on the maidens and a more careful eye on the Tabaxi
(what's the matter, Durk? Scared of a cat? lol)

(Did i see any animals of note nearby or on our journey?)
A rabbit passes by on the side of the road, and an owl looking for prey passes over head once, but other than that you meet no other living creatures.
"should we rest here for tonight, or shall we press on to the city?"
I ask with some exhaustion
"I say resting is a good idea. The night seems silent enough for some peaceful tranquillity before continuing our journey, what say you Maidens?"
"The young one is almost dead on her feet, and rest would do us all good. We're far enough away from Eklevia that we should be safe, and while the moon shines we have slight powers.
