Eglig, this is what you read. It's written on a scroll, rather than in any sort of standard book. The writing is very well scripted, the letters interactively controlled, looking almost as if shifting in a breeze that doesn't exist.
“The Opening of the Soul and Body” - by the nomadic monk, Asbion:
“As I have traveled across the worlds, I have discovered many different forms of creation, of manifestation, and of harnessing the power we describe as Ki. I have found that it is directly affected by the body, and more importantly, by the mind. If a body is rigid, and a mind like a closed bottle, the energy cannot trickle through the body, and you can not release it. I have spent many decades attempting to perfect the vessel of my body, in order to achieve as open and accessible a body as possible to receive and harness Ki, I have experimented and found a meditation technique that broadens both the mind and the body, and have recorded it here for other monks, so as to achieve more successful binding and release of Ki.
Firstly, I’ve found that, though it may be hard to come by in the wild or on the go, a strong cup of tea always prepares and relaxes the muscles, to make them more receptive. Next, find a comfortable position, sitting up straight, with your feet planted firmly against the ground, your hands resting on your knees or in your lap. Gently and slowly, close your eyes. Focus on your breathing at first. Feel it go in through your nose, and out of your mouth. On your next inhale, focus on sending your breath deep down into your stomach, keeping it loose, without trying to control anything. Then, mentally scan your body for points of stress or tension. Do not try to change them, but simply acknowledge them. Acknowledge yourself, your thoughts, and your emotions in only this moment. Give yourself permission to receive your Ki, to its fullest extent. If you mind wanders, or starts to worry, do not get frustrated. Let it fade away as you return to the present moment. As you finish your meditation session, let your mind expand as far as it can. Relax all your muscles and feel the Ki, flowing almost as if a liquid, into your body, starting at your head, and down into your soul. Then, you are most well equipped to handle your day.”
(Not a guess, mainly thought, one thing we should have mentioned is that at least 2-3 of us really look deeply into things like this, I LOVE lore. Cant get enough of it. And i tend to link things together rather quickly (sorry))
"I see, so this tome was written to show me how to better control my ki flow within my body. I see what I should be doing in order to best learn to harness my ki to its full potential, like taking a bottle cap off of a bottle in order to let the liquid flow. My ki must be able to be released from my mind and pour down into my body, blood vessels transfer blood so I should be able to think of it like a blood flow of energy. I shall use this for myself, I must see if this scroll is in my budget. Also, I fancy a cup of tea now." Chuckles quietly "What books do to the mind."
I wander towards the librarian asking about the price of the scroll
(Really liked this text by the way, very intriguing to me. Makes me actually want a cup of tea aha xD)
(Nah, that's completely up to you. If you want the lore, you can find it. It's your decision.)
As you go up to the gnome and ask, he replies with "Buy? No, no, you don't simply buy books from a library. We're not a book shop, everything in here is meant for the access of everyone. You may borrow the book, and loan it out, but you must bring it back in the allotted time."
Meanwhile, Nemm, this is what you read in your large book.
“On the Magics of the Worlds” - by Oldengleg the Ancient, famous wizardly scholar
“Of the many worlds, and many magics within those worlds, none is as elusive or as obscure as dream magic, or Solemus Magicallus. Lightly tied to Enchantment Magic (Hysomnium Magicallus), dream magic deals with, in the majority, infiltrating and manipulating the mental waves of a sentient creature with wisps of Enchantment magic. This can be extremely difficult to do, as it is very easy for the caster to be lost in the target’s dreams, and will be obliterated upon the target’s awakening. Most dream magic is very weak as a result, the basics being adding or removing elements of a dream, increasing or decreasing the amount of dreams a creature has, and the like.
There are, though, stronger versions of this magic. Some dream magicians can completely create or destroy dreams, and the strongest can even tie a creature’s essence to their dream self, creating a psychic version of Hopsprite’s Soul Bridge effect, meaning if a creature is affected in their dream, their physical body will be affected as well. But this is the rarest strength of magic, and is only held by certain deities, called Dream Entities, which will not be covered in this tome. Certain other deities hold abilities and magic similar to these, but will not be covered in this tome either.
The most obscure, and dangerous, form of this magic is transporting living matter through dreams. This is done only by the most trained and experienced dream magicians, and only in times of desperation or great need, but if done successfully, has close to a teleportation effect, bringing the matter from one place on the material plane to another, as long as it has been dreamed. This technique requires immense focus, determination, and a very clear mind. If done improperly, this could kill the user, the matter being transported, as well as marring the very place that has been dreamed, making it poisonous to the mind and viciously twisting to the body. As Hopsprite has written in his book, dream magic, while volatile, can also be extremely useful, as well as more powerful than most other magics, though he marks very sternly it is not worth it, though he will not state why.”
He scribbles again in his ledger, then turns the scroll over and stamps a small square.
(Also, glad you were interested in it. My mom was kinda big into meditation a while back, so I picked up some of it from her. The rest I got from Youtube lmao)
"There. This tells you when it's due, and who's loaned it. Every day overdue is a 2 gold fee, so be sure to return it on time."
I take out my book, Ink and Quill out and take notes from the text I have read, I turn to address Nico "Sorry, I was just reading something interesting, I did hear you and it seems this situation we've been put, in is at the moment, much bigger than we currently understand" (Also that was a nice, done my best to take notes so I don't forget anything important.)
(Two weeks. I'll remind you when the due date is closing in, don't worry :) )
(Wow, an actual note taker! I don't see many around lol. And, little tidbit, Tildian Hopsprite does exist in this world, you can find him if you look ;) )
I return to put the book back from where I came, and moved over back to the librarian. " By chance do you know of a person by the name, Hopsprite, the name was mentioned in the section I was reading in "On Magics of the world, By Oldengleg the ancient"? )

(Nah, it's good. Things will make sense faster if you do, though it might take some mystery out of some characters motives if you do.)
(I'll attempt to withhold myself)

(Also, does anyone remember who had the note found on the Orcs?)
"Okay, thank you good sire. How do I loan this book then?"
"Do I put a signature anywhere?"
He reaches out and says "Give it here, if you please."
"Here you go"
Hands the scroll to him

"Eglig, Eglig Highfist Lakumamino."
