The door slowly swings open as a man enters. He moves slowly, seemingly...reading? His face down in an old, leather-bound manuscript, the man finally looks up. Charcoal gray skin and piercing golden eyes survey the group. It's clear this is a fire genasi, with orange-gold hair and glowing runes tattooed...or etched?...onto his body.
"Well met, all," he starts. "I am Ignus. Apologies for the tardiness. I was a bit sidetracked at the library. An impressive collection for such a village."
His face contorts a bit as he finishes looking around at this strange collection of humanoids. "This sure is an intriguing menagerie!"
((I didn't see our starting city on the map, I am guessing it is just a small local town))
Addressing the saurian in a very direct manner, "Where are you staying at in this town? I gathered there is only the one inn and one tavern, right? Well then, you seemed to think there were others that you may be needing. Fine, let's start getting this clan formed..."
Treenja steps forward and takes the gold, quickly portions it out to everyone present, giving extra to the dwarf and to himself, Treenja addresses Thoradin in the same manner, "You there, based on what I have seen so far, your kind like to drink, you go to the tavern and if anyone starts asking about the saurian gather them up. I will go to the inn and do the same. Make sure to offer them the payment, not keep it"
Looking at the gnome and warforged, "You two" Treenja points at them and gives the gnome 120 gold, "Yes you two. Arrange passage for us. No more then 10 gold each. If it costs more than that find me at the inn and we will discuss it then."
With that Treenja leaves and heads toward the inn.
Ton walked away from the docks munching away at the cooked half a tuna he got for quickly helping the crew of the fishing boat he had taken to get here. A fine payment for such easy work for him. Though to be fair he was able to unload most of the cargo without any help and faster than any of the others had thought possible.
The first thing that cought his eye as he came in was the church. The house of his enemy's enemy. He was not much for religion, but he knew the gods hated the Hell Knights and their order as much as Ton did. He made his way chewing towards the building. Maybe they had info on the informant that he was supposed to meet, even if not, he would at the least be able to judge the cut of their jib.
Ton walked up to the door and opened it gently, respectfully. It seemed this door was made for normal sized folk and not someone almost 7 feet. He was standing straight as it I opened revealing all but his neck up. Ton hunched and scanned the inside where he saw a group..... He eyes immediately found and stopped on the Tabaxi,
"Nope!" Thundered Ton's gruff deep bass filled voice as he turned around and let the door close.
Ton then began to make his way toward the inn he was told about by the captain of the fishing ship. His sizes and twin greataxes on his back drew a few glances, pointed fingers and whispers of doubt that anyone of any size could use both of them at the same time. None of that even registered in Ton's mind. "Probably better luck at the inn" Ton thought to himself, trying to fight the slowly swelling PTSD knot swelling in his gut and mind.
Ton tossed the bones of the tuna in a waste barrel as he walked into the inn and up to the keep.
"An ale sir, if you please." Ton asked trying to summon a warm smile.
A man with a thick and wiry greets you as you enter the inn "Aye sir, Right away!" as he heads to the kitchen to get your drink.
Thoradin near runs into Verna on her way out. He had taken a moment to admire the stonework of the statue. Apologies lass, twas just looking at the stonework. Not bad for human work. They all inside?
He then goes in to join the others. Seeing Dao he rumbles over and takes a seat, waiting for the meeting to commence.
Dao marks his place in his book with a bookmark and puts it back in his satchel, stands up and gets off from the Statue's base to stand before the party. "We are still missing one, but I can't shake the feeling they're a no-show... So why don't we start things off proper."
Dao pauses and signals Aeoh to present the wrapped object to the party, being careful not to undo the rope binds. "We got a special thing, the croc man wants the special thing. We need to give him the special thing!" Aeoh pipes up, thinking he got the whole point across.
Dao on the other hand continued to pause for a moment before correcting hi small companion "Well, do go FURTHER into detail. An associate of mine is studying ancient saurian civilizations, The Ancestors of my *and technically his* people, on the lower continent. Recently Some people I've been working with have found something on the upper continent that may be linked to it. I need you all to take it to him." He would say before Aoeh chimed in again.
"Gotta find the croc friend, find the croc friend!"
Dao continued "Riiiight, as you might have guessed You'll know him when you see him... He's a Saurian like me, A Sarcos to be exact. And he tends to spend most of his time either in taverns or libraries. So when you arrive at your destination, The Town of Birth, you can start your search there." He paused one last time to look over the party... "Any questions?"
((something to note Aeoh only speaks Draconic))
"Seems straight-forward." Kellin says with a nod. "Do you have any information on what this thing is?" He nods to the wrapped package.
When the gold is tossed out Kellin would nod at it. "Seems like a worthy reward." He states, taking his share. He glances to the others of the make-shift company. "Shall we head to the docks straight-off or do we want to take some time to spend some of this gold?" He pauses though. "I doubt if a small community like this one has much in the way of less-common items, but there might be some items here we can buy of interest or need to some of us."
Dao Shakes his head "All I can say is that It was made by my ancestors in ancient times, But I haven't the slightest clue what it was intended for. My field is more suited to..." Be paused to flex his right arm, igniting his plasmatic claws "... Modern... Saurian Technology"

((Right hand side at the bottom of the peninsula of "The Lost Land", you may need to zoom))
Dao remarked "if there are no further questions, Aeoh and I will be setting off... ARE there any further questions?"
Bo looks over to Thoradin in appreciation. And relishing an opportunity to leave Dao's gaze (which she feels like hasn't left her since she had stupidly spoken up) looks to gnome and says "Y-Yes we can do that... Shall we go?"
Treenja realized an error. Charging back into the room looking around seeing nobody has really moved, "Meet back at the inn tonight and we will see when we can depart," Again seeing no movement, "Get moving!!"
He turns to the kobald, "That what we are supposed to delivery? Don't care what it is but I will hold it for now." Treenja will take the package.

"Do we get the name of who to delivery it to?"
"Rah Kriaan, A Sarcos as I've mentioned." He said to the Tabaxi, as his associate Aeoh waddled over to them handing the cat the package "Find the Croc friend, gotta fins the croc friend" he would reply in Draconic
Kellin frowns as he is handed an extra 120 gold and told to book passage on a ship for the group. He shrugs though, nearly dropping the coins as he adds them to his own pouch.
"Guess we are off to the docks." He says to the other designated to accompany him on this task. "Guess we should head in that direction..." He heads out the door, tripping a person walking by and sending them sprawling into the dirt outside the building. 'Oh, sorry there..." He says, helping the bystander back to their feet. He then heads on towards the dock.

Verna takes the gold, a tad shocked by the amount for something seemingly so simple. "I don't believe I have any other questions." She looks to the rest of the group who stayed behind, "Would it be easier for all of us to go to the docks?"
"I guess so" replies Bo. "Also..." She adds, "do you want me to hold onto that bag for you? I don't mind."

You mostly see fishermen selling their catch, Though there does seem to me one person who doesn't seem to be a fisherman or even a sailor. A Thresher Sharkman, sitting on a support beam on the edge of the dock. He's cleaning a strange saw like weapon attached to his long tail.
Treenja looks to Verna, "No, let those two book our passage. You do whatever you want. I am going back to the inn in case others join us. You can go with the dwarf and make sure he doesn't drink the pay for the others."
Looking to the others in the room, "I don't care what you all do. Go shop, stay with the dwarf or join me. Again, we all meet back at the inn tonight and hopefully we have passage starting tomorrow."
Speaking to Kellin, "Do you see that sharkman over there?" (Points to his direction). "He seems like someone who might know the best way to Xi; S-Should we approach him?"
"Why would we want to do that?" Kellin asks with a shiver. "Let's see what there are for ships that we can hire." He glances to the sharkman again. "He is not likely to be needing a ship after all, so probably won't be much help there."

"Passage...? Are we leaving already?" Ignus has put his head back into the book he was reading, but seems engaged in the conversation as well.
