"If you leave the gauntlet with me I will make sure it is dealt with." Caravas says with a glance to Jown. "As far as the mistress of this place, there are those who owe her and will be coming to restore her. It will take a bit for them to arrive, as they have some time allowed for it in their contracts, so need not arrive immediately."
Jown says with a sigh, "Of course it is." as he rubs his forehead. He asks, "What exactly does the mistress plan to do with the Gauntlet, if I may ask? It seems quite dangerous and the ability to produce huge amounts of gold is likely to cause the value of gold to plummet and crash the world economy."
Deception is way to high for Jown to combat. He instead does not like that answer regardless. He seems to have come up with an idea but he is holding his tongue until he hears what his allies say.
Jaro shrugs at the lawyers words, "As long as she stays on this island, who cares how much gold she has. Not like she's letting it go. On the other hand, I must admit, I don't like anyone having this much power, too much potential to become a monster just like the one we put down."
"The thing wasn't hers to start with anyway." Stalker says with a frown at the lawyer. "It belonged to the undead emperor we just took care of down in the vault. I would say we have more rights to the thing than she does..."
So what's next? Are you giving the gauntlet to the lawyer? Anyone with an insight check over 20 would have noticed he did not require you to do so, but offered to take it from you to deal with it for you.
Jown shakes his head and says, "It would require the help of a high level wizard but I already have a plan to deal with the gauntlet for good. A plan that would ensure that the likelihood of anyone reclaiming it being extremely low."
"So you plan on keeping it then?" The lawyer asks, looking disappointed, but not surprised. "Very well, choose your other reward and then please make your way back tothe docks. Your time on the island is at an end."
The lawyer has no legal rights to it, and would not wish to get into a fight with you over it. He had no intentions of returning it to Dalia, FYI, but to keep it for himself. If you would not hand it over on your own though, he had no recourse but to let you keep it.
Everyone can pick a legendary item from all official magical items. It is mostly just flavor though, as this ends the campaigne. You all also recieve 100,000 GP to split amongst you. Jown also has the gauntlet.
After recieving your rewards, you make your way back to the docks, where the same ship you came in on is waiting and ready. You sail back to the mainland and are left on the beach where you first met the ship. Nothing is said, no great speach of your deeds, you are just left on the beach and the ship sails away again.
Jown approaches Marlin and Raist on the ship and says, "Both of you are powerful wizards. Would you be willing to help me dispose of this gauntlet? I was planning on perhaps leaving it in a demiplane with obscure properties and never speak of it again so no one can ever find it again."
"I would be happy to, when we get back home we can do some research to see how to properly dispose of it and then take care of it that way. If we leave it somewhere "safe" you know a legend about the artifact will be born and some clueless adventures," Raist says with a smile and a chuckle, "Will just go and search for it."

Jown asks the lawyer, "This is all well and good but what of Dahlia herself and the accursed gauntlet?"

The lawyer blinks his eyes several times. "I do not know what the mistress would plan to do with it." he says eventually. "Nor is that my problem."
Give me an insight check, anyone who wishes.

Merlin thought things were over but this mess continues: Insight 25
Lot's of stuff ...

Merlin walks back and forth. "I don't want to deal with this thing. I say just let him work things out and be done with it."

Jown is quite surprised by this. He did not expect the Lawyer to let them walk away with the gauntlet.
The lawyer has no legal rights to it, and would not wish to get into a fight with you over it. He had no intentions of returning it to Dalia, FYI, but to keep it for himself. If you would not hand it over on your own though, he had no recourse but to let you keep it.
