Merlin takes a mask that looks like an elephant and puts it on. He immediately take the shape of a Loxodon. He likes the disguise and keeps it. The intense gray body is starkly enhanced with black and white robes. There is a beautiful white head wrap or keffiyeh with deap black braided loops to hold it on. Even when the wind is not blowing his robes billow gracefully.
Raist takes one of the masks and puts it on and a human appears in his position. The human is of average height and to be honest is rather plain looking. He tends to just fade in the background as you look at him. "This should work as a disguise." Raist says.
Malus takes a mask depicting a raven. As soon as he puts it on a kenku of a similar height as him appears in his place. He shrugs and keeps the disguise, nodding to the others.
Perdan scans over the masks available. "Hmm..." he says as he tries a few on eventually taking them off unsatisfied. Finally he tries one one. Its gives his head an elongated appearance, several dangling tentacles and large black almond shaped eyes. "Illithid, this will do nicely."
Jaro looks through, discarding a few, before claiming one that causes him to assume the appearance of a robed warforged with a solid featureless faceplate and smooth outer shell with both clothes and metal the colour of gold, highly reflective, but showing not showing any actual reflections.
Karavas gives you instructions to find the red light district and you head out.
As you approach the city's red light district, you find yourselves surrounded by masked customers. You have heard that kings, politicians, outsiders both good and evil, and the occasional abomination are clientele of this sensual place. It is not difficult to understand why, with every temptation well-represented and easily accessible under the cloak of anonymity. Towering above it all stands the House of Negotiable Affection, a palace where the dreams of all beings can become reality. Legends about pairings between angels and devils, or trysts between chromatic and metallic dragons, are legendary around these parts, adding to the mystery and excitement.
At the door, you are greeted by handsome fey attendants, who make up the majority of the staff The inside is dimly lit, and the smell of incense and perfume quickly overwhelms your senses. Upon querying the staff about the location of those you seek, they offer to escort you to either of them without delay, as they are both well known figures here who choose not to wear masks.
Merlin watches as Gilra flips a coin. "So we are going to visit Grobulax the Lascivious then. Sounds exciting!" Speaking to one of the attendants he says "We will go to Grobulax the Lascivious then. Lead the way?"
Dalia was very vague about the individuals you are going to meet, on purpose, and did not tell you anything more than they both have a key that she needs returned.
The attendant nods and quickly escorts the group to a set of double doors a few floors up in the building. The doors open easily and you all enter.
As you enter this dimly lit room, you find Grobulax sitting between four succubi consorts, who float around him massaging and oiling his corpulent form while he relaxes in a hot tub filled with molten magma. When approached, he invites you to join him, signaling his consorts to be as hospitable as possible, though with a sinister air that suggests that nothing in this house of depravity will be remotely pleasurable.
Jown just looks at the situation before him. For a place that's allegedly a "Palace where dreams of all beings can become a reality," he really wasn't impressed and nothing he saw before him seemed very pleasurable either. In all honesty, he's been mostly indifferent about the things in around him. He did not doubt for a second the sheer luxury of the island but perhaps years of adventuring and somewhat jaded him from all that's been happening around him.
(ooc: LOL... no fighting needed. Someone throw in a Hold Monster and we'll just search him and his rooms/area. Might as well Banish him too after we've fully searched his person.)
Merlin will use 5 charges from his staff of power to cast hold monster on Grobulax (wisdom save DC 28). The says "You know we might be in trouble if the key isn't on his person. We could have talked with him first."
