"I... I can help whoever tries picking the lock," Rose admits a bit shamefully. Whenever the firbolg had disobeyed the priests and priestesses, they would lock her in her room to 'teach her a lesson'. In a way it worked. She learned how to pick locks. "J-just watch out for us, okay?"
Whoever picks the lock will also get some Guidance.

Jirel would try to stand in the shadows as to avoid drawing attention to her Goliath frame. She’d keep a look out, but would be guilty of leaning over Jasun to take a peek at the door herself. The barbarian trusted Zaf’s skills. Though, should he or the others fail, she’d be willing to try her hand at it with Rose’s guidance.
Zaf eyes narrows at Jasun. "I suppose it would be, Mr. Elf."He states a smidgen testily, before then slipping some personal tools from his person into hand and setting to work on the lock. "It should only take a few moments." He adds, mostly for his own reassurance than any other upon feeling Rose's magic wash over him. And any time he felt uncertain, trust was placed in Rose's sharp ears and a warning given to ease off the wrong or press the right tumbler.
1st attempt - Thieves' Tools(DC 20): 28, if actually at adv: 21.
But things don't go quite to plan. He was rusty and nervous and ultimately winding up holding his breath while trying again -- calling upon the Lady Desna himself if need be to, if Rose found herself distracted.
2nd attempt - Thieves' Tools(DC 20): 19, if actually at adv: 18.
Zaf is able to pick the lock and enter the house. Ringeirr quickly slams the door shut and locks it again. Inside this home is a small bald man wearing eyeglasses. He is obviously irritated about the fact that you've just broken into his house.
"Ringeirr, chto eto znachit?"
"My by ne sdelali etogo, yesli by vy prosto otvetili, kogda ya, blin, postuchal!"

When she heard the click to signify they got the lock this time, Rose beams over to Zaf and raises a hand at an attempt at a high five. Had he indulged her, she would happily exclaim "Teamwork!" before they enter inside.

Jirel would eventually put herself in a corner, feeling as though she’s taking up too much space. She didn’t want to insult peoples personal space the longer they were there. And if she didn’t stand in the corner, she’d touch something that wasn’t hers.

Before it comes to that, assuming he finds anything at all, he asks of Ringeirr, "Does Mortin never charge, Ringeirr? Ever? Not that I doubt your... friends? Hours later, you hear the sound of multiple locks unlocking as Mortin comes out with a stack of papers. "These papers weel identeefy you as Stilyagi. Now leave." He practically shoves you outside the door, which he quickly shuts and locks behind you. The winding streets of the Howlings give way to an intersection of broad thoroughfares that lead to other districts of Whitethrone, where the buildings continue to improve in the quality of their construction and the exquisite detailing of their woodwork. In the distance, the sounds of more active neighborhoods can be heard, but Whitethrone is generally somber and muted. A white signpost, painted with neat black writing, stands at the crossroads. As you proceed, you are stopped by two men in cloaks. They stop you and ask for papers.
They inspect your papers for an uncomfortably long time before saying "Public dancing remains strictly forbidden." in a monotone voice. You're allowed to pass the checkpoint and enter into the Floes district of Whitethrone. Ringeirr leads you all to a bathhouse, where he gives a knowing nod to the attendant. You go down into the tunnels and then to a secret room that looks like a shrine. Make a DC15 Religion check. There's a young woman there that looks like a cleric. "Thees ees Solveig Ayrdahl. "Hello, my dear."Jasun bows slightly when introduced to Solveig. He listens to her story, and nods. "Take out Logrivich and rescue Bella, then. Seems simple enough."
As usual, Jirel would observe from the back of the group. She’d listen to what the young cleric had to say. It didn’t completely sink in because the barbarian got distracted enjoying the woman’s accent. It pretty much happened every time one of the locals spoke more than a sentence or so. The goliath did hear fireworks though. She did always appreciate it when Zaf, Jasun, or any of the others would summarize. In this case, Jasun summarized it perfectly for her. She’d lean in to add. “Fireworks. You forgot fireworks.” Perhaps it wasn’t as exciting as a damsel in distress to him, but Jirel was pretty pumped and would make sure those weren’t left out.
