The blood hunter begins cleaning her blade and wrapping the wound on her palm as she answers Rose. "I'm from Irrisen. A long time ago. I left for...varied reasons. Didn't want to be dealing with jadwiga and wintertouched again, but if Irrisen is coming south, there's not anywhere I can run that it won't eventually show up, unless we do something about it."

Jasun gives bird person an askew look, then says to everyone. "I will continue. We've come this far, and shall see it to the end. Especially because I feel like this is a test of some sort. The prize? Who knows."

Four low igloos stand here in the snow. A well-packed trail of large footprints passes between them, heading both north and west.

A curious Zaf flutters closer to the footprints, double checking they belonged to only the one being, and not multiples or clever ones walking in the footsteps of others. What is found with the aid of 'Lady Butterfly', he shares, but beyond this, he quickly goes back to following along after the others, wary of more surprises.

Suddenly, one of the trees turns into an ugly-looking troll with a halberd. It points its halberd at Jirel, who must now make a DC13 Wisdom Save or be affected by hold person.

Zaf regains his nerve, and in a dim burst of light, becomes the night owl again as he puts a bit more distance between himself and the halberd wielding troll. Stone are enchanted as well for good measure, but otherwise it is all about preparation for the wary owlaakocra.
