Jirel felt rejuvenated from Zaf's radiating presence. Though upon the discovery of the Black Rider, she felt uneasy and it only grew worse the more he spoke. She'd clear her throat unsure of what to say at that moment, and apparently that'd be enough to agree to his task. For now she was bound.
The goliath will walk to the portal and stand beside it once Sera stepped in. She'll stand guard to watch, seeing the others off, one by one into the portal.
Jasun snorted in amusement at how icy cold Sera was. He bobbed his eyebrows comically and was about to say something, but then absorbed the power from they dead Black Rider. He then stepped in the portal. "Great and mysterious T'Vauz, watch over us. Or at least, me."he snickered, jokingly.
The portal deposits you in the middle of a forest somewhere. It does indeed appear that you were teleported to the land of Irrisen as you see none of the familiar landmarks from the Border Wood. In the distance, you can see the lights of a village, while behind you, you can sense a snowstorm coming. As you stumble through the snowdrifts, you happen upon a band of travelers carrying a shipment of some kind who are currently being attacked by a spider king. One of the travelers lies unconscious and webbed up, while the others attempt to fight it off, with little success, save for one woman with a shortsword in each hand who is putting up more of a fight than the others. Roll for initiative.

Zaf had hovered over the body a few moments more, kneeling and pressing a praye beads wrapped hand to his temple. "Rest now, and may the Lady's guides lead you to one final, wonderful dream." He spoke, before rising to join the others, giving Jireal an acknowledging nod on the way. Upon arrival on the other side, a once more lost in thought Zaf only after the fact catches the ruckus, and would flutter on after the others.

Jirel could only tilt her head in question to Jasun's change in behaviour. But who was she to know what was 'normal'. Returning the nod to Zaf. She'd follow through the portal after, preparing to be on the defensive as soon as she'd come through on the other side.
Sera is even quieter than usual the moment they step into Irrisen, her face dark as she moves through the snowdrifts with minimal issue, being fully used to it, even if it's been years since she was here. Upon seeing the the group being attacked, the woman merely silently pulls her glaive free.

Zaf lands a fair distance away, and seems to hesitate in drawing the map once more. "It has to be done." He whispers, prior to finally finishing the pull and pointing the rolled up length of living wood as if it were a wand. "You should've chosen your prey better."His last remark just before the bolt of starlight is sent flying at the creature.
