You give pursuit and see six guards pushing Nadya (and by extension, Zaf) towards a tavern that you assume is serving as their headquarters.

Jasun would look to the others, peeking around outside.

"Perhaps we should peek in the window, or something?" he suggested. "Any ideas?"

"I'm shit at stealth, so I'll keep my distance for now, but let me know if things go south," Sera says grimly.

Rose truly hadn't noticed the goliaths slight lash out, she more preoccupied with getting them both safe and snug in the closet. Noticing Jirel's apologetic look garners a head tilt from the firbolg, but she doesn't question it, as the soldiers and Nadya begin to converse. She's able to keep herself quiet throughout, though once they begin to pull Nadya (and Zaf) away, distress is easily read on her face. Once they left, Rose opens the closet, allowing Jirel to exit first prior to her doing so. 

The cleric was glad there were no qualms regarding going after them, wanting to get both Zaf and Nadya out of there if possible. Upon hearing Jasun's suggestion, she says, "That may be the best thing we can do now... B-but I'm easily spotted..." To emphasize her point, she runs a hand through pink colored locks. "Sera or you... Maybe?"

Zaf: From Nadya's pocket, you hear the guards turning Nadya over to the sergeant. You hear the sounds of footsteps heading away, but from what your mouse senses pick up, there are still guards in this room. You hear the sound of a blow being struck, but from the distance of it, you can tell that it's not Nadya being hit. "Where ees the Black Rider?!" Someone asks with a harsh-sounding voice.

"I'm telleeng you, I don't know." Someone whimpers.

Everyone else: From wherever you're standing, you see six guards exit the tavern and take the road out of town.

Zaf reluctantly holds his grounds, but would try at least get a feel for the age and gender for whoever had been whimpering out words.

Insight: 23. (Same bonus if perception would be more accurate)

Middle-aged male

Jirel will take the queue to leave the closet from Rose. Sensing the urgency of the situation, the Goliath will step forward to scan out the window. A low growl will start in her throat as they just stand there, watching the soldiers take their host away. “We waste time.” With a grunt, she’ll grab her axes and lead the way out the door after Nadya.

Stealth: 24 

Jirel, you're able to sneak to the window and peer into the tavern. You see four guards and one sergeant, who just punched a man in priests garb. Nadya is being held in a corner with a few men and women who are slightly older than her.

She’ll pause only to listen for a moment, should they divulge anything that could be of interest to the party. Though, her intentions were to come to Nadya’s aid. Should they threaten her or lay a hand on her, the barbarian will make her way into the establishment for a surprise attack. 

The man continues to insist that he doesn't know. The sergeant gets frustrated and tosses him aside. He then points at Nadya and demands that she come over to him. It doesn't look like he'll be nicer to her than he was to the priest.

"What do you see?" Jasun asked in a hushed whisper.

Rose takes a moment to quietly murmur a prayer to Ioun before sprinkling a bit of holy water onto her friends, blessing them for whatever could happen next.

“A dead man.” Jirel would respond with a low growl. Feeling the warmth of Rose’s magic wash over her, the barbarian will grab Jasun in haste. “Cover me, Silvertongue.” With one swift kick, the Goliath with boot open the door of the tavern, sweep over some tables and chairs on her charge towards the man. Taking advantage of his back to her, she’ll lunge to grapple him.

Grapple: 8 + Bless: 3 

There would be no use in trying to stop the goliath from attacking her prey, so Rose would simply be her support.

"This works." Sera charges in behind Jirel.

As Jasun is grabbed by Jirel, he makes a high pitched "Whoop!" sound in surprise and delight.

'It's going to be okay. A few bruises can be mended. So long as nothing happens, we might just be able to take them by surprise later' Zaf thought, holding onto the... for all of four seconds.
