When Six of Eight hears Sebastians' request, his heartstone will glow with the brightness of several candles, providing light enough for him to see but enough to flood the underground tunnels with light! (Casting light)
"Whelp...to late to shut them up now. Press through quickly and get ready to fight whatever these things have alerted!"Ront tries to move the group ahead, pushing whoever is in front of him a little to get them going.
Not knowing how far behind the Drow pursuit might be and encouraged by Ront's helpful (?) comments from the back of the party, the party keeps moving past the Shriekers. As they do so Turvy takes a half-hearted swing.
(OOC: the party has been travelling for 4 hours - how much longer do you want to travel at this pace.)
"Maybe we should slow down a bit. We've been pushing hard for a while - and we ran right into those loud fungi. I think we've put a little distance between us and the slavers and don't want to stumble into anything worse without a little more warning..." Ront offers once they are past the shreikers.
(OOC: you guys need to talk more to each other. Topsy (DDP) has been waiting for answer for two days. In absence of any suggestions to the contrary or an answer to Topsy I'm exercising DM's perogative and moving it forward.)
Shooshar turns to Topsy "the Orc and the Dwarf are rarely in agreement but this time they are right, We must keep pushing on. Vah jo peedit hai teaches us that it is only by pushing through pain and exhaustion that true enlightment comes!"
The party continues on at normal pace for another four hours. As the party is now travelling at a slower pace (i.e. Normal) they can search for food (usually edible mushrooms) as they move along {each person can find enough food for two people}. Eldrik, Shooshar, Sebastian (much to his own surprise) and Topsy are successful in finding food (OOC: I'm making these rolls off-line). However it is not sufficient to ensure that everybody will get enough (they only found 8 pounds) so there will be a few empty stomachs tonight.
The party has covered about 7 miles when they come to a large cavern that is lit with the Faerzress - the unusual magical energy - that can be found throughout the Underdark.
What Izzrak knows about Faerzress
As a practitioner of the magic arts and a denizen of the Underdark, Izzrak has some awareness of zones impacted by Faerzress: 1. Always filled with dim light 2. Casting Divination spells seems easier (Advantage) but see '#4' 3. Allegedly difficult to teleport into 4. Can seem some unusual impacts when casting a spell in a Faezress impacted area.
As the party settles down for a well-earned rest they again attempt to get the manacles off (DC20). Shushar does not try to break the manacles saying 'Vah jo peedit hai has inflicted me with these for a reason! but I will help all of you" Eldrik (Strength) with Shushar's help = 23 Izzrak (Dexterity) with Shushar's help = 17 Jimjar (Dexterity) with Shushar's help = 23 Derendil (Strength) with Shushar's help = 18 Ront (Strength) with Shushar's help = 16 Sarith (Strength) with Shushar's help = 18 Six of Eight (Dexterity) with Shushar's help = 10 Topsy (Dexterity) with Shushar's help = 15 Turvey (Dexterity) with Shushar's help = 24
(Six of eight got his off earlier on a dex check. Ront remains tightly bound!!)
A string of orcish obscenities flows from Ront's mouth as he yanks, pulls, strains, and otherwise flexes tired and sore muscles in an attempt to get the obviously reinforced manacles off!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As her manacles are broken enough to where she can be free of them, Topsy smiles brightly at the fish man. "Thank you so much. And thank Vah jo peedit hai," she says reverently and carefully. "Are you sure you don't want us to help you break yours? Perhaps you were inflicted with them in order to teach you how to allow others to help you," she offers, attempting to talk him into it.
Persuasion: 15
Turvy, on the other hand, simply grunts what might be a thank you, but doesn't even meet Shooshar's eye as his own manacles are broken off.
"I thank you for your kind words. It may be that you are right. Let us wait a bit longer! I am sure that Vah jo peedit hai's will make his will known in the fullness of time.'"Shushaar responds

Sarith look at the chain on his manacles finding a weak spot. Grabbing the weak spot and giving it a good yank the manacles snap. Looking around at the people who haven't been able to get them off Sarith says "If people need help getting theres off i can help, but in the meantime we should look for some food."
Derendil snarls in anger as his manacles refuse to come loose but doesn't let the anger get the better of him. "You are a prince, remember to act like one." He mutters to himself as he accepts any food that is offered to him.
Eldrik grins as he manages to snap the chain binding the two wrist manacles together. Looking at the amount of food he has managed to scrounge up, he starts handing it out, only taking a half portion for himself as this is not the only time he has lived off half rations. Having seen the Orc struggle with his manacles, Eldrik makes his way over and in an effort to build rapport with the Orc, hands him some food and says "Anger and strength aren't enough to break the chains, you need to find the weak point and exploit that." He says pointing out where the manacles are worn. (If the DM will allow, Help for another attempt on the chains)

Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
"Shriekers," Turvy says, scowling.
OOC: Are we within 30 feet of them, or does that mean something else is within 30 feet of them?
The lead members of the group - its a narrow passageway - have come within 30' of the Shriekers.
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
Are the Shriekers sentient? Or are they just aware plants?
With an intelligence of '1' I'm not even sure there aware. They certainly aren't sentient.

Turvy will continue forward. If he gets close enough to swing at one, he will (and then will keep his iron bar ready for danger).
Rusty iron bar attack: 10; damage: 7 bludgeoning damage

Eldrik nods in a agreement, "whilst we want to escape our captors, it would be even worse if we encounter something whilst exhausted!"
Derendil is walking along silently, occasionally scratching the spider on his shoulder with one long thin finger.
Topsy is clearly tired. "Should we take a break and rest?" she asks.
