Tales from Talaveroth

"For my gut, best we head into town, stay at the inn, as a regular group of travelers would. We might find out something about the town and the man we're looking for. He doesn't sound like anyone too important, so he's likely to be there in the morning too."

Poinki puts on his hat and turns on the halfling disguise.  As they walk into the town, he will call out to any passers by, "Hello, folks! I am Bubba Barrelguts, halfling."

Elhanna have a hard time to keep a straight face while Ponki goes around and introduce himself as Bubba the halflings.
“I agree with Twitch, it is better to get a good feel for the place before hand.” 

Twitch can't help but laugh at their boisterours new companion: "Bubba, the point of a disguise is to blend in" she says, between giggles.

"Casing an environment is useful, but at the same time I would rather not remain in one place longer than necessary." 

Si'Juul begins making his way to the inn with the group.

"Si'Juul, I get you. One night won't hurt though. And I'd find it more suspicious if we camped outside of a quaint little town."

"I am not against resting in an inn. It's not just about...them. A lot of Aarakocrans, myself included, simply like to keep moving, never settling unless we've made a family, or other important events."

"Blend in?" says Ponki, puzzled. "Halfling not blend in?"

"I'm not sure who would blend in worse, me or you."

A couple of the townsfolk give "Bubba" a strange look but seem to pass it off without much second though. Looking around you can see that there aren't more than a couple of halflings around, judging by where the handles on various doors are located.

"I think it would be best if I follow in behind. Given my appearance and equipment, people might think I am there to cause harm."

"Should have been a taller halfling," Poinki whispers to Elhanna, looking at the doorknobs.  reaching up, he seizes the doorknob of the inn and opens it, heading inside.

"Nonesense, Si'Juul. I am pretty sure I could convince these fine folk that I'm a damsel in distress and you some hired protection, if anyone asks"

"That's a good cover. And if I have a reputation among the people on this half of Talaveroth, then posing as hired muscle would be believable."

"Si'Juul, it might surprise you to hear, but this isn't the first time I'm lying about who I'm traveling with."  Twitch says, with a smile.

"No, that doesn't surprise me at all."

With that, Twitch starts to head onwards to the town, sticking close to Si'Juul, ensuring that they would implicitly sell the cover story, should it come that far. 

Si'Juul follows Twitch, keeping his arms crossed but low enough to not look as if he's about to draw his gun.

He speaks low and quiet to Poinki.

"Best to just not do much, perhaps stay close to Elhanna. Pretend you're her relative or something."

You all make your way down through the town and into the inn. The inside is a cozy place. A large fire is going in a hearth off to the left side of the room and the tables are all made of dark wood, giving the inn an inviting look. 

A couple of farmers at a table near the fire glance up as you enter before returning to their conversation. A small child at a table near the bar can't stop staring, though he doesn't seem to be focused on any one of you in particular. You can gather that he's just curious about new people. 

Behind the bar is a large, heavy set human woman with long black hair. She looks up at you. "Welcome, welcome. Grab as seat. What can I get you?"

"Bubba Barrelguts have whatever halflings drink," says Poinki bravely, waving his hand to make sure she notices him.
