Tales from Talaveroth

Twitch quickly heads over to the bartender: "Food and drink, but later on a room or two would be nice." She then bends down to the child. Due to her own size, she doesn't have to bend much. "What's your name then, little one? I'm Twitch. Wanna help an adventurer out?"

Si'Juul gives the farmers no more than a cursory glance before looking around the rest of the room. Seeing nobody else but the child, he stands, arms crossed, leaning against the wall near the door, looking over at Twitch periodically, keeping the charade of hired gun.

The child looks amazed and opens his mouth a couple of times to speak before just giving a nod. 

The woman behind the bar speaks. "That's Benji."

"Alright Benji, nice to meet you. See, my friends and I, we've come a long way, and we want to visit another friend of ours, he should be living in this town. First, is this Valenta? Second, do you know an old man by the name of Oleg?"

Benji gulps again and after a couple more attempts he manages to speak. "This is Valenta, yes it is." 

"You mean Old Man Oleg, the guy who lives in the graveyard? He's creepy." 

The woman pipes in again. "He is not, you know better than to talk about someone like that, especially somebody nice and helpful like Oleg." She turns to Twitch. "Oleg is the gravekeeper and occasionally the doctor. He's a nice old man, always happy to talk or help out. Haven't seen much of him since Olive passed away though. Olive was his wife." 

”Pool man, do you mind if I ask what happened to her?” Elhanna ask “I am something of a healer myself so just tell me if I can help with anything in his stead. Oh I’m sorry, I’m Elhanna.” 

"I think everyone's in reasonably good health. The last harvest was good at that always helps. As for Olive she passed from old age. They're both getting up there in years." She nods back while she finishes getting your food and drinks. "Here you are. I'm Lydia. As for rooms you can have your pick of the four we have or take them all if you like. It's two gold a room for the night and you're the only traveller's we've had in a while, hence Benji's stare." 

Si'Juul steps up to the bar and eats a bit of food as well as downing a shot of ale straight into his beak. He places 2gp on the counter and gives a nod to the barkeep. He moves to stand near the hall/stairs leading to the rooms.

Poinki takes a big gulp of the ale he;s been served, trying not to think too much about the price of the room rental. "Must be very nice rooms," he whispers. "Very, very, very nice."  He tastes a bite of the stew as well.  "Better than cargo rats," he says. "Maybe not as good as beach-fried bird monster."

"Si'Juul, mind if Poinki and I share with you?" She is ready to hand him a gold piece back. She agreed with the goblin that the room prices were steep, and if they were to sell the ruse, it would make sense to stick close together.

Elhanna is not comfortable staying in the same room as boys and would prefer her own room. She feel her gold pouch and sigh. only four gold.. "Yeah, it would be good if we could all stay together." 

Si'Juul nods to the group, relieved Twitch also saw the wisdom in sharing the room. He remains where he was, waiting for the group.

Poinki chips in a gold piece. "Helga give starter gold," he says. "More than Poinki ever have before."

"Comes from being the only inn for quite a while. People will pay to not sleep on the ground for the 5th night in a row." She says with a shrug. She then hands you a key with 4 written on it. "That room has five beds, so you should have no problems for the four of you. All your meals and drinks are provided while you stay, unless you go mad and decide to eat everything in the place." 

(Is there anything else anyone would like to do this evening or are you headed for bed?)

Before going to bed, Elhanna will approach the barkeep “Excuse me, you wouldn’t have a map over the village and the surrounding area would you?” And she give her a smile. 

Poinki heads for the inn room with the others. It is indeed palatial, at least compared to the goblin holes and hovels he's used to. "No rats under bed," he reports. "But I guess she say we get breakfast downstairs?"

Lydia responds, "No, sorry. The best person in town for something like that probably would have been Oleg. He was always an adventurous sort, or at least before he met Olive apparently. The rest of us sort of stick around town. I can tell you how to get to most places though." 

"I doubt they would allow people to bring food into the rooms, but no harm in asking if you're interested."

Si'Juul finishes his draft and folds it nearly and pockets it. He remains sitting at the desk or table the room had for him to write on.
