At the loud bang, Twitch comes to: "Hu.. buh.. Whu.. Where? Elhanna! Did I... What happened?"

As Si'Juul sits on the floor and brings out his Tinker's Tools to craft a Hand Mortar, 

"I nearly became a meal to a bird creature larger than myself.....it comes after me again I got something it can gnaw on instead...."

He will sit there for an hour or two if that's what it takes, and then safely pocket it.

((If you mean the ammo, you can do that once a day as part of a long rest.  If you mean the actual weapon, you need materials and probably a week or so.))

Paren draws a dart and walks up close to the door, trying to peer around it without sticking any part of his body out.

 (I thought you just gave me materials? Plus you never mentioned that I had to craft one or the other. But fine, no mortar for now.)

Elhanna looks worried ”What kind of bird was it?” She ask then tell Twitch to be still so she can finish her treatment. 

To Twitch:

”I don’t know exactly. You were attacked by these creatures and went down. Did you guys find anything up here?” 

"It was big, and hungry.....and it's mother wasn't too happy to see me either...."

Si'Juul tries to clean his bloodstained feathers as best he can.

((After some clearing up of confusion, Si'Juul is indeed permitted to make Hand Mortar ammo, which can also be thrown by hand as a grenade. The Hand Mortar itself is a sort of grenade launcher.))

Paren can't see either of the birds from his spot...but he does notice a flutter in the shadows which indicates that a bird is probably lurking perched somewhere above on the tower.

Twitch is still feeling disoriented, but attempts to help Si'Juul as much as she can with the tinkering process, trying to throw herself into work to overcome the shocking revelation that she would have died without her friends here. A thought kept crossing her mind- The Captain sent them up here, almost as if he knew they would be hurt. She couldn't help but smile at the sight of his face when they'd all safely return in the evening...

Si'Juul puts a hand up as Twitch approaches.

"Thanks....but don't need the help......besides, delicate work like this is not for groggy hands..... nothing personal...."

His wounds still mostly cleaned up but some still visible, Si'Juul listens for the large bird creatures as he works, spending the hour or two necessary to finish it.

Paren pulls the crossbow from his belt and watches for a while. Eventually he gets bored and takes a step out, firing the crossbow if he sees the creature.

Attack: 20 Damage: 7

Second roll for disadvantage in case it's more than 30 feet away: 5

The dark silhouette you can see perched above is well over thirty feet away. It seems to be watching you intently over the edge of the tower top. Your crossbow bolt comes nowhere near it.

Paren calmly reloads the crossbow but just holds it at the ready. "What do you want bird?" He yells up to the thing, without any real hope of a response.

After patching up Twitch, Elhanna takes out the heavy bag again. She is fascinated by how it can be bigger on the inside then the outside. After a few moments of inspection and hesitation she go into her bag and take out a candle and puts it in the other bag.  
Does it disappear? 

Nope, the candle sits in the new bag, no problem.

Paren, roll a dex check dc10.

Dexterity: 10

A large bird splat misses you, just barely, painting the stone before the doorway white.

Paren just shakes his head and ducks back inside the room.

Si'Juul sneers at the sound of the avian feces splatting.

"How could a bird embarrass itself like that? ..........so, what's the plan, people? Can't sit here forever. We know why the place is deserted at least."
