Tales from Talaveroth

Si'Juul steps into the hallway and begins looking for the group. When he finally finds them he steps up to them and clears his throat.

"Oh...uhh....just wanted to say thanks......for whichever one of you kept me from bleeding out in the hold.....not the way I thought I'd go down....."

“I just don’t feel right to take money for earning my keep aboard. Though it was more work then I anticipated..”

 Paren acknowledges Si'Juul then nods slowly. "Well, I, ah, I guess, um, I guess I get that. It's just, ah, best, um, best for me to, ah, not have money that belongs to others." He scratches the backs of his arms and neck as his voice rises at the end of his statement. 

"Hmm...? Did you two refuse your shares as well? You've earned them as far as I am concerned......... and I......but at the same time, Paren seems uncomfortable holding all of the money......so what are we going to do about this?"

“We could give it to Helga. She is a capable healer and could do much good with it. Or if you don’t mind I could uhm.. send it to my temple..  they do a lot of charity, but lately they have been struggling due to raises taxes..” She trail off at the end hoping she does t come off greedy in anyway. The last thing she wanted is to burn bridges to potential party members who she could do some work with later. 

"Well, if it helps you, I'll take some and give them to Helga myself." Twitch offers.

"Well considering we are still at sea, we won't be able to do anything with the gold for some time."

Paren makes the sack appear lightning quick in his hand again before reaching quickly in and drawing back. He fans out 5 coins to show the others before they disappear back up his sleeve again. "I do need some coins after all. But yes, I think giving them to someone worthy would be a better plan." 

"I agree. Although maintaining this thing isn't cheap, I am more than happy to give the money to someone more deserving than me."

Si'Juul pat's his holstered pepperbox.

He looks out the nearest window at the sea for a moment, then begins walking back to the room he was in previously.

"If you need me......not hard to find......"

Twitch was slinging her arm around Elhanna's shoulders, and moving her back up the deck to introduce her to the Bosun and her new, and hopefully less spider-filled tasks.

Slithizz the lizardfolk is the Bosun. She greets you politely as you approach and introduce Elhanna.

"No need to look for more chhhoresss," Slithizz says. "Elhanna issss now a passssenger. Welcome aboard. Thhough if you are bored, the Captain isss never shhhy about picking up free labor.  Perhapssss shhhe shhhould sssspend ssssome time exxxxxploring the shhhhip and getting to know her fellow passsssengerssss and the crew."

"I'm fine with taking it easy for now. Maybe I'll get something to drink and bade in the sunlight for a while." she say with a smile. She looks out on the horizon and wonder what is to come next for her.

The rest of the day and the night goes by quietly.  (You can take a long rest.)

The next morning dawns foggy.  The sailor in the lookout is changed frequently, to make sure whoever is keeping watch is fresh and attentive, since obstacles can't be seen far ahead.  The crew seems especially sour this morning, you can hear muttered grumbling after nearly every order. There is no wind, and the ship would be standing still if not for the ship's wizard creating little gusts of breeze.  All the same, progress is slow.

During the night, sailors brought up the seventeen broken and leaky water barrels, and Twitch, you have been given orders to fix as many as you can so they can be refilled on Coral Island. The captain also made the announcement to the crew and passengers about the water rationing.  The sailors are particularly glaring at the dwarves, who have plenty of ale kegs with them and don't care about the water rationing, continuing their non-stop drinking party, and the druid, who is busy watering all his potted plants with little concern.

Twitch immediately heads towards the druid: "Sorry to be a bother, but I noticed that you always seem to have water for your plants. Any chance you could help us out and make some available for the crew? We got coin, if ya need it..."

"This water comes from the ship's stores, like everyone else's," the druid says. "Though I suppose, given the circumstances, I can assist with the water situation.  I know a water creation spell..."

As you chat with the druid, you hear a sudden scream from overhead, and splatters of blood rain down on the deck.  You see a dark, winged shadow fly away into the fog carrying the lookout.

The ship is in chaos as every sailor in the rigging scrambles down in terror.  Some huddle under the masts, staring upward, and some rush below decks. The officers all draw their weapons, staring up wildly.  "What was that?" the captain is shouting.  "Did anyone get a good look at it?"

Twitch immediately hooks her arm around the druid's and drags him back into the ship, away from danger.

"My trees!" the druid objects, pulling away from you and rushing out to protect his potted plants. He pulls a pair of scimitars and stands among his plants, glowering up defiantly at the sky.

Paren looks around for the source of the attack, drawing one of his darts. He then crouches low in a ready position, just in case he needs to spring out of the way. "If you're not good at fighting I would suggest running down below."

The dwarves take their keg party below.

When Elhanna is informed of the water shortages she will offer to help out. She will tell whoever tells her about it that she can create up to 10 gallons of water three times a day. 

When all hell break loose Elhanna will try to find somewhere she can hide under so that she won’t get lifted away like the look out and start looking into the foggy morning.
