Tales from Talaveroth

Between Helga and Elhanna, all the swimmers coming aboard are quickly cared for.  The swimmers who were headed for the Mobius are picked up by the two lifeboats.

Every remaining swimmer but one heads for Elhanna's rope ladders!  As the rope becomes a string of climbing sailors, though...it begins to go slack.

There are now 8 sailors who have reached the Mobius on the rope, 27 still climbing along the rope as it slowly sinks toward the waves, 17 aboard the lifeboats, and one stubborn sailor swimming back determinedly toward the upside-down ship.

Still focused on the sharks, Si'Juul flies over to the line swimmer.

"Hey! You do want to be saved, right? If you have a death wish, tell me now...."

"I'll not be dangled from a string like a tipsy spider!" the sailor sputters.  (He's almost to the wreck, anyway.)

Twitch, roll persuasion. :D

Paren is up.

I doubt the sailor could hear me, instead Twitch is back up on the main deck, looking for a way to tighten the safety line, so as to keep it well out of the water.

(No, for enticing the sharks with stew.)

Si'Juul just rolls his eyes, keeping focused on the sharks to prevent them from eating the fool.

Ouch

Seeing the shark frenzy Paren tries again to hit one.

Attack: 8  Damage: 8

((Alright, dice hate this idea I guess))

Twitch runs up from the galley clutching the pot of stew, pursued by the angry halfling cook and her wooden spoon  of retribution.  She heaves the congealed mess over the side as the crew cheers!

The sharks take one sniff and turn up their noses at the stew as non-edible.  The blood in the water from the dead shark attracts 4 new sharks!

3 sharks head toward the swimming sailor...

Attack: 15 Damage: 10

Attack: 17 Damage: 8

Attack: 17 Damage: 3

The swimming sailor screams as he is pulled below the waves, and there is a billow of red in the water!

The remaining four swim below the slackening rope and see if they can jump high enough to attack. (Dex chexk DC 15: 4  10   8

One shark leaps high enough to snap at one of the rope-climbers!

Attack: 23 Damage: 4

...and misses.

Si'Juul fires upon one of the sharks from his held action.

Attack w/bless: 15

Damage: 12

Twitch, Elhanna and Si'Juul are up!

Okay, Paren retroactively hit a shark. Hmmm....

And Si'Juul's attack is from last round, too...Going to retcon the shark attack.

Actually, it could be the shark I forgot to roll the dex check for: he attacks one of the sharks with him, going after the rope climbers: Attack: 12 Damage: 9

Okay, since Si'Juul was over by the swimming sailor, the shark he killed would not have attacked, and so the sailor is bloody, but still alive...

Another shark has been severely bitten but not killed...unless it's the same shark Paren shot....We'll say on a 6 it's the same one: 2

Okay, so 6 sharks left, two wounded: sailor in the water is bitten but alive.

Twitch, Elhanna and Si'Juul are up now. :D

Si'Juul sighs and holsters his pepperbox. He reaches down to grab the man and begins flying him to the mobius.

The sailor yells and kicks his feet (but not very energetically) and covers his eyes with his hands.  "Nooooo, I hate heights! Better the sharks!"  He's dripping blood everywhere as you fly.
