Tales from Talaveroth

Paren waits for the other two and then ambles his way back over to the party, making sure to get some meat from their defeated foes, just to try.

As Paren hacks out some salad fixin's, he notices broken bottles under the big leaves.  Apparently a couple of those strange growth potions were dropped here.  He also finds inside the stalk about 35 gold in mixed coins, and some undigested metal buckles and buttons.  Looks like the druid wasn't its first taste of humanoid.

Elhanna sits up as the group help the druid out and is just about to heal him but Paren is faster. She brush off the dust from her cloth and thanks Paren and Twitch for getting her out of that situation. 

She goes over to Paren and look at what he has found. “I wonder if the wizard met the same fate?”

Paren hands off the gold to Elhanna when he sees her looking. "I don't know about the wizard but it certainly are someone. And more of those options that make things large and evil. Seems the wizard managed to curse the island before he bought the farm." 

Elhanna pockets the gold for now to divide later.

“let’s head back, it’s is getting late and I’m hungry”  

Twitch agrees. She was a curious one by nature, but she was quite shocked to see what the druid's curiousity got him. She couldn't help but agree with Si'Juul, maybe the sea wasn't such a bad place to be after all.

You all return to the beach to enjoy the bonfire and party.  The stars are bright overhead, and everybody has survived the perils of the island--thanks largely to you!  The captain calls for a toast in your honor, and the crews and passengers drink to your health in good Dwarven ale.

As it gets late, you can hear the officers discussing how long the lighthouse will keep functioning on its own without the wizard, and talking about notifying the harbor authority on the mainland in case they might send a new lightkeeper...one with a less perilous hobby.

But everything on land and sea is peaceful now, and you can get a well-deserved rest.

Twitch is very happy to take advantage of that, making sure to do a checkup with Helga first to see whether her injuries and bruises are okay, before stringing up her hammock again.

Paren sits down to meditate under the tree again, enjoying another night on solid ground.

When Twitch goes to check on Helga, he is surprised to see Poinki the goblin dressed in chain mail and carrying weapons.  "You...heroes," Poinki says, obviously having studied his Common very seriously. "You save Poinki. Helga teach Poinki about gods. Poinki pray for power to protect. Poinki be hero, make world better. Like you. Not go back to goblin cave. Poinki...go with you?" The other goblins look a little confused and disgusted.

Helga (who is fine and is patching up your druid friend) says, "He seems really serious about becoming some sort of holy warrior. I will help him with his prayers before we disembark, but he would probably die quickly in the lands I am heading for."

Si'Juul might here muffled voices, depending on the specific lay out of the decks. As well as Poinki's very excited voice, which reminds him of the hide shoes Poinki made for him.

Si'Juul has them in his hands, looking at them for a moment.

"Eh..... let's see if they even fit...."

He slips the shoes on, or tries to at least, depending on if they were crafted correctly.

They might do for loafing around inside an inn.  You probably wouldn't want to go on a long hike with them. They are soft, like mocassins, loose and roomy with space to move your talons/toes.

Si'Juul sits there with them on for about another minute.

Thinking,

'Guess if I happen to need them warm......not much use otherwise.....talons are built for the outdoors.....'

He takes them off and stows them again.

He steps out of his bunk room and glances around the hallway in case anyone is there. If not, he will make his way back up to his usual spot on the railing, staring out to the horizon, arms crossed.

Elhanna would hade accompanied Twitch to Helga. Hearing Ponki speak about being a holy warrior makes her really happy. “Your common progresses very well Ponki, have your prayers been heard yet?” 

Poini shrugs. "Not yet. So many gods. Hard to choose one.  Not know if they want goblin."

While enjoying the sea breeze in his feathers, Si'Juul thinks,

'Wonder if I should just stay at sea forever......would keep me away from....them....'

“I have found that the god look more to intention then race. Just close your eye and tell the gods what you wish to do, If they find you worthy the right one will answer.” Elhanna smile to her little protege and give him a clap on the cheek. 

That reminds me. I need to prey to Mishakel for guidance on what to do next.

Poinki sighs.  "Gods Poinki likes all lawful. Poinki thinks rules not matter, when rules are stupid. Maybe Torm or Helm or Yondalla. Yondalla not as scary as Torm and Helm."  He brightens up. "Yondalla goddess of Halflings.  Ogg and Thogg are halflings. Maybe Poinki can get adopted and be halfling, like them."

Twitch can't help but chuckle overhearing Poinki. His common had really improved, but she might one day help him with the nuances of the word "halfling".

(If there's time, Si'Juul will at some point go back into his bunk for a couple hours to make 3 makeshift grenades)
