Tales from Talaveroth

(Sure, you have time.)

The sun sets on the island party, and eventually the sailors stop feasting, playing their hornpipes and dancing, and return to their ships. The next day, they plan to continue gathering supplies and doing repairs (and take a little more eveswyrm-free time off.) The Green Dolphin will be put back in the sea at high tide in early afternoon, and both ships will sail out, and sail toward the mainland.

If anyone has any more business they want to attend to on the island, you can get it done in the orning, otherwise, off we go.

Paren simply waits for the others, seeing if they have any other adventures to get up to before they leave.

Twitch is tinkering with some designs and helps to repair some of the damage on the Green Dolphin, keeping herself busy and her skills sharp.

Si'Juul will craft his makeshift grenades either before or after setting sail, but either way, will be in his usual spot on the railing after waking from his rest. Likely to stay there for the majority of the trip unless someone or something changes that.

The night passes passes peacefully.  In the morning, Poinki excitedly tells you that he dreamed of Ilmater last night, and will try praying to him and see if the god takes any notice. The crew makes plans for a day of gathering in the jungle. "Let's make this delay pay for itself!" the captain says, cheerful at the thought of profits. "He gives the order that every empty place in the ship is to be filled with coconuts, tropical fruit, and whatever else seems saleable. He asks Twitch to build a few monkey cages, if she has time.

Paren and Si'Juul chill out and enjoy some relaxation time.  Elhanna helps Helga with the goblins' lessons and with keeping the sickbay in order, treating sailors who come in through the day with injuries caused by coconut-hurling monkeys and other ordinary hazards of life.

The goblins Eenrit, Rugat and Boogar, though they don't share Poinki's interest in becoming heroes, have no interest in returning to their goblin chief after failing their mission.  They offer to stay on the island and repair and maintain the lighthouse.  Bleakforth, the ship's wizard, goes with them to the lighthouse to figure out what keeps the spell going, and what they might have to do to keep things in order. It turns out to be within their abilities.  They are very excited at having their own island, and Bleakforth promises to let the port authority know that the goblins are now handling things here, and what happened to the wizard. Eenrit, Rugat and Boogar celebrate their new job by breaking out one of the wine bottles the Captain sent up the the lighthouse...just in case he might get the idea to ask for it back.

With Twitch's help, the Green Dolphin gets new masts in place, cut yesterday from some of the tallest trees in the forest.

Captain Pennywhistle says, "I wouldn't want to steal the Mobius's carpenter, of course, but if you are free and not under contract, you'd be welcome aboard the Dolphin." (Twitch doesn't have a contract.)

The Mobius is headed for the huge coastal city of Dasturus.  The Dolphin is sailing south toward a smaller port at the mouth of the Arasrok River. You also can't help remembering that washed-up sailboat on the east side of the island...it looked like it could be fixed...

The party has a decision to make before high tide.

Whenever the group inevitably gathers to discuss travel destinations and means of getting to them, Si'Juul has his arms crossed, eyes closed, looking deep in thought. Eventually, he gives a very slight nod.

"Well, I say either we ride on the Dolphin to the smaller port or fix up that boat if we can..... don't think we have such pressing needs that require a larger port......do we?"

Paren looks around to make sure it's just the party before speaking. "I actually do have a need to be in Dasturus, and with the delays we've already taken I'm more behind than I should be. I'm fine to go with the rest of you on the Dolphin but I will need to hurry off after that." 

"I suppose I can accept going to the larger destination.....if I must.....guess we have wordlessly agreed to travel together regardless......didn't expect that.....the larger port is more likely to have extra supplies I will need anyway.....but then....I will need coin to gain them......hmm....."

”Oh thank you for remind me Si’Juul, Paren actually found some gold in the flesh eating plant earlier.” And she take out the pouch Paren found and divide it between them. 

“As for where we should go, I think that the dolphins sounds a bit more appealing. I’m no sailor by any means so I wouldn’t be of any help in restoring and sailing a boat..”

(BTW, Si'Juul talked about donating some money to Helga earlier.  She would have refused it, so you should still have that.)

(So, in total, I believe that's 75gp to divide between us, splitting 4 ways would give us 18gp each with 3gp remaining, if we include Poinki then an even 5 way split gets all of us 15gp)

Elhanna will also present the goggles, potions and the bag she found at the tower.  “I found this things in the wizards tower. They are enchanted somehow, but I don’t quite know what they do yet.”

"Never been a fan of magic stuff.....but I suppose you can't avoid coming across it.....any idea what this stuff does?"

”To be honest, I don’t have a clue.. the bag seems to bag bigger on the inside but for the rest we’ d have to ask a wizard about it... didn’t the Mobius have one?” 

"I have no idea....kept to myself mostly...."

(Is there anything about the goggles I can figure just based on their appearance? What profession might have required them, and such)

Si'Juul is almost as puzzled as Elhanna about the purpose of the goggles.

Elhanna packs up everything “I’ll go see if I find that wizard. Or someone else who can till us what this is”

Elhanna seeks out Bleakforth, the ship's wizard, who is lounging on deck strumming his lute and doing his best to look like a bard (as usual.)

"Let me see," he yawns, reaching out for your finds. He pretends to merely examine them, but you can see he mutters a magic words and makes a few subtle gestures as h examines each.  "In my expert opinion, you've found some Goggles of Night, a Potion of Animal Friendship, and a Potion of Giant Strength. Hill giant variety."
