"Sounds like we may be headed to do a lot of sailing - I think I might pick up a fishing tackle and a playing card set," Beatrice says, wandering through the shelves.
As am I. This is my first visit to the island, so I will let you all decide on the best place to stay. Kenton is eager to get out of the shop and hear what his companions have to say about the strange turns of fate that have befallen them. He will follow to whichever inn is chosen, and urge the others to meet and talk before going shopping.
"Let's rent a room and discuss." Oden would find a comfortable room to rent unless the others have another preference.
"Faendal made it sound like this could potentially be a threat to our entire world. I'd like to help in any way I can, and I'd be glad to do that beside all of you. What do you say?"
The Inn du Guesclin looks comfortable but not extravagant and has a sign hanging on the front that sets the prices as: Single private rooms 1gp 2sp, Double rooms 9sp per person, Quadruple rooms 8sp per person, dorms 6sp per person.
A quadruple room and a double room? Kenton suggests. We could meet up in the quadruple and talk things through. Unless... He looks around the inn's common room - are there booths or private areas that would work for a conversation? I don't think we're particularly worried about enemy spies, right?
"I don't think we're necessarily worried about spies, but I'm not sure it's the best idea to advertise that we're considering magically binding ourselves to people in exchange for large amounts of gold..." Beatrice says. "That setup sounds good to me."
There are no private areas in the common spaces, but you pay 5gp total (split how you all see fit) and the rooms are now yours to have conversations in. The rooms are basic but comfortable.
"Faendal made it sound like this could potentially be a threat to our entire world. I'd like to help in any way I can, and I'd be glad to do that beside all of you. What do you say?"
The Champion will go with Beatrice for company to get tackle etc if that’s a thing. Jus wants to be around. Other than that, he’s happy with whichever inn etc.
I guess it's more likely we're in the quadruple room, as that has more space. Four beds to sit on, and space to walk around if you're making a really important point. :)
Kenton is sat on one of the beds, looking uncomfortable and not speaking much; he wants to see what the rest of the group thinks before he gives his two coppers' worth. So he holds back from answering Oden's question, and looks first at Reguh to try to assess his reaction.

((Oden said that once everyone was in the room))
"I'm in," Beatrice says, nodding firmly.
The Champion pounds a gauntleted fist against his shield with a “hear! hear!”
[DM breathes a sigh of relief: I do have other adventures to go to if you ignore the pending watery apocalypse, but have give away too much of what is happening for it to not have an impact on story and world if you did ignore it.]
I will gladly lend my sword to this cause,Kenton says, and I suspect this quest and the mission I was tasked with by Mr. Brand are one and the same. Nevertheless, it is the signing of a magical contract that bothers me. Such contracts are the tools of capricious fey and worse, of devils and other such dark powers.
(We are still being asked to sign this weird contract to get the helmets, right?)
[Yes, though you haven’t discussed this with Faendal since you told him about the cult. You also don’t necessarily need the helmets to be able to breath under water, there are other means. ]
"We could discuss the pros and cons of the deal and see how we end up?" Beatrice suggests. "Pros from where I'm standing are a steady source of income and the possibility of further adventuring. The cons include the potential repercussions of not fulfilling our end of the deal, the fact that is a magical deal when a regular one would be just as effective, and... can magic be used to bind and track people even if they don't want to be found? Because if yes, that." She bites on one of her nails and looks out the inn window at everyone walking by. "It's definitely something that I'm wary of, if we have other options I would not be opposed to saying no to them. We don't even owe them anything, arguably they owe us more."

(fishing tackle = 1gp, playing cards = 5sp)
The Champion shrugs. “I think I’m good to go.“

Oden rents a single room and invites the party in.((I was too late :) ))"Sounds good to me."

[Amendment]: The double room is really small and awkward, the quadruple room is basic but comfortable.

I think I picked it up before we left the pawn shop, and now we're all awkwardly crowded into the double room lmao
