"What else is he trying to say? He seems agitated." Lu-lu is focused on Nim.

"It just seems worried about what it may have caused I think," the priest answers. 

"Wait a second. So what were you doing on the roof of this place then?" Cora asks Nim gently, but not convinced. Then, to no one in particular, she said "You know..the one area I was trying to get to before I fell and landed on my ass."

Nim says through the priest's translation, "I live here and was experimenting with the mechanical bird I made."

Vincent looks to be deep in thought. “... How about we take Nim off your hands?” The soldier asks. “We’re fixing up a bar, we could use someone like Nim to help fix some bits. Keep him busy and out of trouble, you know?”

For shits and giggles, Cora took a chance and used some sign language of her own. Watching the woman sign to the automaton reminded her of something she used to do. She moved her hand to her chest and discretely “said”:

Yes, an excellent idea. Come with us?

“Oh yes! Please? We would love to bring Nim with us!”

"I could consider it as a stand in for your payment for dealing with the rogue nimblewright," the priest replies 

"If that's alright with everyone else..." Vincent looks over the group to try and gauge how they felt about the offer.

Heishe shrugs and nods because Books is way too tired and in mild pain to be creative right now.

"That sounds like an acceptable solution."

"That's fine with me." Cora said.

"Perfect, now go do your job please. I don't want more blood on the streets that could get us in trouble."

“Yay!!! New friend!” Lu-lu takes Nim by the arm and happily chats away at the metal man all the way down the stairs of the building and probably most of the way back to trollskull.

Cora watched Lu-lu and Nim leave in the manner that they did, rolled her eyes and smiled softly. Off to find the rogue automaton. Memories slowly returned hazily as they walked back, and she even wondered if Nim could understand anything Lu-lu was telling it. She smiled at the notion.

It was nice how the fates decided that Cora would be with Nim again, but it made her heart sink as they returned to Trollskull knowing that she would never be able to share it anyone.
